I stayed at this excellent hotel for three days. The hotel is close to the central station, and the old town can be reached in no time. I received a very hospitable welcome: without having asked for it, I got a upgrade of the room I had booked. The price-quality ratio is good. With the guest card public transport is free and museums are half price. The room was located on the garden side (a room at the back is recommended because there is a busy traffic road at the front). The room was quiet, spacious, clean, functional (hall, bathroom and bedroom), tastefully decorated and equipped with all the comforts a customer could wish for: even slippers and bathrobes were available. I immediately felt at home. In warm times it is nice to relax in the nice garden, which is located next to the spacious breakfast room. The breakfast is very good, varied and plentiful, and therefore more pricey than usual.

Hotel entrance hidden behind Christmas market. Yes, it you are visiting in December, the Christmas market is just outside the hotel. We missed the entrance and walk one big round. You need to walk up the steps from the tram stop. We got a room with window facing inside. Room have USB outlet charger. There’s no kettle and complimentary tea and coffee in the room. As other’s Motel One, it’s a very basic hotel. But it’s comfortable. Room big enough to open up 2x 27 inches luggage as a gauge.

The Hotel is no frills and if you arrive after 4PM you have to checkin via an electronic kiosk by the door. You fill up a bunch of screens and in the end it gives you a keycard to enter the hotel. You also have to use it in the elevator as the hotel is only on the 4th floor and all other floors have locks. The room was fairly large and well equipped. I particularly loved the alligator shaped soaps for the kids and the fully stocked minibar which was entirely free. There were also chocolates and cookies on the pillows. Nice wi-if too. Breakfast is served in a tiny room downstairs and even though there was a tiny amount of each of the things to eat, it was replaced often. The only person working in the hotel in the morning is the receptionist and the one tending breakfast. She was nice and responsive to our needs. A very good option for those needing to take the train from Basel Bad in the morning. A bit far from the city’s interesting bits though.

We had a two day stay at this hotel on the way to Paris. This is a charming hotel with a historic facade but modern and renovated interior. We had the Queen room and whilst only 20 sq mtrs felt very spacious. Location is prefect for those with luggage and arriving by train as the station is across the road. We had a lovely view of the station and no noise could be heard with the windows closed. We often opened the windows to soak up the atmosphere of the trams and buskers and the hustle and bustle of the station. The old town is not far away and easily walkable but the hotel provides free public transport cards which makes it even easier to visit the city and surrounds. Some lovely old buildings and a marketplace to visit. We did not have breakfast at this hotel but there is a large supermarket next door where drinks, food, bakery items can be purchased. The bar/ restaurant downstairs has inside and outside seating with the outside area great for watching people and the station happenings. If we return this would be our hotel of choice. Switzerland is a very expensive country so expect to pay a lot more for drink and food than you do at home. A block away is Markthalle an upmarket food court with cuisines from all over the world. We ate here both nights as the food was so good.

The room is poorly soundproofed, and the floor upstairs creaks when stepped on. It's speechless. It's the first time I booked a self-check-in. The gate requires a password to enter. There is no check-in guide when booking on Ctrip. I waited for a long time until someone opened the door and slipped in. Ctrip asked the hotel agent but there was no response. Fortunately, there were other people in the restaurant who kindly gave me directions. There is a shared kitchen. 700 yuan is not bad, right? The socket of this one is small, and the power ***** cannot be used. I used this when I went to France before. Fortunately, their USB can be used, so it dealt with it for one night.

I spent 2 nights in this hotel. I loved the water/coffee/fruit stations on each floor. I had a single room, size was good for my staying, it had everything I needed. The basin in the bathroom is a bit small, but it wasn't a problem. I didn't have a converter for the Swiss plug with me and the reception lent me one, this was very helpful. They have a case with all sorts of converters. The hotel is in a lovely part of Basel, close to the river, and in the room I found the Wickelfisch swim bag, in case I wanted to go for a swim. The room was clean although there was a bit of dust, I guess coming in from the window left open. The hotel doesn't have an AC but there was a dyson fan in the room and that helped with the hot temperature. I enjoyed the breakfast, good variety of cheeses, charcuterie, bread, boiled eggs and also fruits, porridge, granola, yoghurt. They also have a gluten free area. I would definitely book it again.

Comfortable location - to the station 5 minutes by bus 30, walk often, stop in step. Near the chic gate of Spalentor, behind them almost begins shopping space and center. Before stopping 50 bus to the airport, take 5 minutes. The staff at the hotel is very welcome, on the receptacle spices, water, candy, cards, booklets, cards. Settled before the placed, late departure without extra payment to 12, then 50 Franco. Give a basel card: free transportation, including to the airport, and 50% discount on museums. There is also a code for hotel entrance after 22 (or 23, I will not remember anymore) when there is no one on the respiratory. Breakfast is excellent, cheeses of species 7, cut, vegetables, hot, juice, water, jams, fruit, can be ordered eggs, omlet, coffee, etc., on the 5th floor with beautiful views, small room. The room is cosy, slippers, closets, minibar, many different lusters and light bulbs. Quiet. Your cloud programs, ours is not. The blankets are excellent, the pillows are so for yourself. Overall: I recommend.

CCibalaozaobingfenIt was not bad to stay in a youth hostel for the first time. There is a young lady at the front desk during the day who is very enthusiastic. But when I returned to the hostel at ten o'clock in the evening, there was no one at the front desk. I called the service call and was answered by a man. The man's service attitude was not very good, he was very impatient, and he had no sense of service. The four-person all-female room I chose was pretty good, but there was only one USB plug on the bedside, which was not very convenient for charging. But overall it's quite clean and the equipment is relatively new.

GGuest UserThe location is great, close to the Old Town and only minutes on foot from Barfuesserplatz. Parking at Steinen is also within relatively reasonable distance. The service was great and the staff very friendly. The rooms are modern, and what we especially appreciated were the separated shower and toilet, although we did miss additional opportunities to hang bath towels. Our room was to the front of the building and therefore somewhat noisy due to the proximity of the tram line, but I guess that's the caveat of such a central location. For breakfast there are two options: The full buffet breakfast at the Teufelhof across the street, or the coffee shop on the ground floor of the SET Hotel itself. We opted for the latter and loved their croissants. The corridors felt a bit bland, dark and ”hospital-like”, as my wife put it. A bit of colour would give it a somewhat friendlier touch. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and think it's an ideal place to stay for exploring the city.

We have been very well hosted. They have Coffee , cake, Waterloo and other amenities as a complimentary gift at the hotel.

GGuest UserThis is my second time staying here. The staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms are spacious and clean and comfortable. The breakfast lacks nothing and I love the energy juice drink! The garden is relaxed and the free coffee and drinks are most welcome. I cannot imagine a better hotel in Basel.

GGuest UserReally great hostel for seeing the sights of Basel. Location was close to the Basel SBB train station and trams going into the main part of Basel. You can also easily walk. I stayed in an 8 bed female dorm, which had comfy beds. Each bed has it's own locker assigned with key provided by the hostel. There is a good kitchen with a fridge for guests to use, as well as table space to sit and eat. Showers are spacious and not on a timer. The Basel card they give you at check in is great for discounts on museum tickets and free public transport. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and checking in was straightforward. I would recommend as a place to stay to explore beautiful Basel.

Out of 4rooms, all 3 rooms with issue like smelly room (like dead body inside the room), only one lightbulb is working, door knob got issue, stuffy room.. too many issue that we don’t know where shud we start to complaint. Old hotel and need a lot improvement. Check in staff is friendly. Breakfast consider average. No photo because nothing to shot out with.

This hotel shares the same reception lobby as the Metropolitan Hotel, so you'd need to walk a long way from reception to the back of the kitchen to the lift that goes up to your room. The room is tiny with our two big luggages and we couldn't open them fully.

SSENHUAVery good, although it is an old building, but it is very clean, with a hair dryer and an electric fan, from the train station to the exhibition center building, just a few minutes away, from the hotel to the river, the old town is very close. There are shopping streets and shopping malls in a few minutes. Arriving at the hotel in advance also gave me a warm check-in, and I can leave my luggage for free after check-out. The elevator is old-fashioned and requires you to manually open the door. The breakfast was very good. I forgot to bring my mobile phone when I was eating. I didn’t charge the city tax. The first floor large restaurant also offers additional catering services, I did not eat. Also sent a city tour voucher, you can take a free ferry boat, offer discounts to visit several museums and free access to wifi of more than a dozen museums (I have pass and portable WIFI, useless)

GGuest UserThere is no check-in desk or machine at the hotel. When we arrived, we saw a sign saying to go back to some other hotel to check-in. We had to walk back to a different hotel to check-in. Totally nonsense. At least, they should have warned us beforehand. I have sent two emails before our arrival as well and nobody ever answered. Terrible assistance. The hotel seemed to be very badly taken care of. Like abandoned. The bathroom was dirty and with a very bad smell. Extremely expensive for what is offered. Very very disappointed, especially being in Switzerland. Not in the Swiss standards at all. I have chosen easyhotel because I have stayed before in other cities and it was great. But now, never again.

The more unique thing is that behind the church is a highland, next to the Rhine River. It is a good place to relax and rest. There are many people sitting here, eating lunch and enjoying the river view. We also sat here for a while and ate something.

We middle-aged and elderly people can only enjoy classical art, and the classic oil paintings are still the best to see.
