Unsere Ausflug in der Schweiz war ein toller Erlebnis. Wir haben uns spontan entschieden für ein paar Tage wandern gehen. Für Übernachtung war noch nicht geplant. Nach dem ersten Tag waren wir auf der Suche nach eine Unterkunft für eine Nacht. Überall war schon alles besetzt, und dann letzte Versuch ein Hotel Sherlock Holmes in Meiringen. Es war schon spät 22:30 Uhr . Klingel an der Tür funktioniert, dann gehen die Türe auf . Rezeption war noch besetzt. Kurze Frage ob noch etwas frei ist und dann ja , natürlich Wir haben. Noch zwei Zimmer frei. Sofort ein Zimmer gebucht. An der Rezeption haben wir erfahren das unsere Zimmer ist in oberen Stock, mit Balkon , tollen Blick. Schnell Schlüssel und rein ins Zimmer. Komplette Zimmer Ausstattung mit Sherlock Holmes Motiven. Teppich , Duschvorhang , überall Bilder mit Fragmenten vom Arthur Conan Doyle - Sherlock Holmes Bücher . Fotos , Kommentare. Ein Hotel für Sherlock Holmes Fan ein muss. Nach eine erholsamen Nacht haben wir uns noch für den Frühstück der in Zimmer inbegriffen war entschieden.Frühstück ein Wahnsinn Backwaren frisch gebacken, Käse , und und und. Erste Eindruck Top, Zimmer sauber , Bad ordentlich geputzt, auch nachts warmes Wasser in Badewanne, morgens ein tolles Ausblick über die Berge. Frühstück für jeden Geschmack ein Leckerbissen, alles frisch gemacht, hilfsbereiter Bedienung . Sehr empfehlenswert.

Friendly staff at the reception, okayish at the breakfast (maybe a language issue? replying ”What?” to a customer politely calling isn't the appropriate answer!). None of them speak French. The room looked really nice, was well equipped and on the back street so quiet as well. The bed was comfortable, water kettle & tea available in the room. Travelling with our dog, I had checked before if he was allowed and nowhere was it written that there was an extra fee and the confirmation didn't mention this either despite announcing that we were with one in the comment box. On the + side, comfortable dog bed, bowl and treat was ready in the room, which was a really nice touch. Also a fee for the underground garage, mentioned nowhere. Warning: parking spots are narrow, we have a mid-size car which barely fit, so if you have an SUV or large car you may want to park in the street (free at night). Breakfast had a good choice, fresh pressed orange juice machine, quite varied choice. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but it is in the center of the village which has many options literally a few steps away, so absolutely not an issue.

Lovely family run hotel, in central Meiringen. We chose this hotel because of its position and reviews. It is situated just a short walk from the station. The room was small, but very clean and overlooked the square. The only issue we had was that it was stifling hot in the room and the hotel does not have air conditioning (as many others in Switzerland do not). We found ourselves having to sleep with the windows wide open and even then it was difficult to get more than a couple of hours. The breakfast was not extensive, as many of the others we visited during our trip, but was nice and sufficient. The one thing we would have liked (aside from aircon) was the facility to make tea/coffee in our room as in our experience this is standard in 4* hotels.

The view from the window is very nice. The staff are very nice as well. But the room suffers from the noise from other rooms. If people come back late or wake up early you can hear their movements and talks. I was waked up in the early morning. But what more you can expect in this price.

We considered to stay during five nights in a wonderful place like Brienz, and we choose the Alpenrose thanks to some good recommendations from friends We stayed in one of the traditinal hauses they manage next to the Hotel, and we enjoyed a wonderful stay, all in the appartment was very clean, both kitchen utensils and bed linens in perfect stay and cleans, Breakfast was included in price and was fantastic, not a huge breakfast buffet, but the most important, the quality of food, some of them made by them like jams and marmalades, next to a superb friendly and helpful service from the members of family owners of the complex.

There were 16 of us for 2 nights. Everyone loved the hotel and we felt very comfortable. The dinners in particular were excellent. We also really appreciated the fact that the 4 children were given special attention. It is worth mentioning that the food was prepared for 4 people with special allergies and that alternatives were served as a matter of course, and these were also excellent. A huge ”thank you” for the commitment, the cooking skills and also for the great service. We will definitely stay at this hotel again and can only recommend it.

The location, the appearance is first-class, the room facilities are relatively old, and the antique furniture is also popular. It is not as good as expected, but it is not bad. You can drive into the hotel. The road is relatively narrow. There is an access control card on the last section of the road. Finally, I contacted the hotel in advance to ask for the password. Will take the initiative to tell you these precautions. Regarding the up and down of the cable car, sit for a while, hotel guests are free, you need to show your room card, remember to watch the timetable, don't miss the last bus. The view of the restaurant is very good and the service is attentive, but the food is as bad as ever, oh, I am not saying that this hotel is bad, I mean that all restaurants in Switzerland are bad (this breakfast is very good, you can go early, choose Facing the location of the waterfall, but the dinner is really hard to describe), unpalatable is one thing, full of ritual, each dish is served slowly, come up to explain to you what raw materials are used in this dish, how to make it, and if you actually taste it All restaurants in Switzerland, including but not limited to this one, are lacking in color and fragrance. My wife waited for the desserts to be served and hurriedly retreated. She panicked and forgot to take the bag.
