Beatus Wellness and Spa Hotel is a family-run hotel where Swiss service and quality are the hallmarks of the experience. Situated on the scenic Thun Lake, an alpine lake in the Berner Oberland of Switzerland, the hotel is a 20-minute car ride from Interlaken along the shores of Lake Thun. We chose the spa experience for a 4-night stay which included full buffet breakfasts, lunches of soup and salad, afternoon cake, and 4-course gourmet dinners daily. Three spa treatment choices were selected, in this case one aromatic oil massage with Swiss herbs by Yon-Ka Paris, one sport massage and one honey body scrub. All treatments are in immaculately clean and calming rooms where native herbs are utilized for oils and scents. In addition to the massages, we immersed ourselves twice-daily in the outdoor, saltwater thermal pool heated to 35 degrees centigrade, the perfect temperature for many musculoskeletal health ailments and detoxification. This outdoor pool is open year-round and the water temperature allows enjoyment even when surrounded by snow. There is also a large indoor saltwater pool heated to an equally comfortable temperature where you can swim laps. Guests were mostly mature couples, families with adult children and young professionals seeking therapeutic, restful and balancing days. The overall vibe was Zen-like, peaceful, meditative and restorative. The rooms have sumptuous beds, modern bathrooms and many have beautiful views with terraces directly on the lake. During warm weather days, there is an expansive lawn on the lake that is filled with lawn chairs. Activities abound with options such as canoeing, motor boat rentals, kayaking and swimming in the beautiful clear waters of Lake Thun. The hotel offers outings such as hiking in the mountains surrounding Lake Thun for every level of expertise which are led by local mountaineers, morning gymnastics, yoga and other relaxation exercises. Overall, this was one of the most restorative and relaxing get-aways in a luxurious environment that left us feeling healthy, pampered and reinvigorated.

This review was written by my 8-year old daughter: About this hotel: It is a family hotel. If you are a kid, the first thing they are going to do is give you a teddy bear. It has a swimming pool and a gym. The swimming pool is really cool and it has a small waterfall built into a rock. The gym is quite big itself but we didn't go there. It has a nice view and a nice hotel restaurant. The food is really good and they have a really great breakfast. You order the main food and you get to choose the side dishes from a breakfast bar. For the main food, I picked omelet - it is quite yummy but it was not salty enough. For the side dishes, I picked cereal, kiwi and juice. They were all really yummy and sweet. You should go to Dorint. I give this hotel a five star review. -- From the parents' side a few additional notes: On the negative side - There is no AC in the apartment, so while this may not matter in the summer, it was quite warm during our visit (30-35C). It cools off nicely in the evening, but there are no screens on the window, so you'll likely end up with a few moths or other bugs in the room if you leave the windows open. On the positive side, they really cater well to families - from the teddy bear at check-in to a little board game on the back of the kids menu, to the small playground area (which seemed to be good for 4-6 year olds). This hotel is/was terrible, if I could give it zero stars I would. The view of the lake is absolutely beautiful, which is obviously what this hotel relies upon, not anything else that makes a hotel special (staff, food, etc…). The front desk staff are terrible and not welcoming at all. The restaurant food was mediocre at best. It was extremely expensive for subpar food and awful service. In fact, tap water costs 8 CHF, which is a first for me in Switzerland/ anywhere in the world. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were intentionally trying to scam us. The rooms are terrible, there are no toiletries, so if you so stay here bring your own. The furniture is filthy and the toilet is open at the top which is odd. I would recommend staying far away from this hotel! I reached out to the company I booked through to request a change of hotel the first night it was so bad.

The hotel is in a great location on the lake. We had a deck off our room overlooking boats and the lake. Our room was modern, very clean and spacious. Beds we’re comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and typical for Europe with meats, cheese , fresh bread, croissants, fruit, yogurt, etc. Would stay here again

Friendly reception despite early check-in. The rooms are small, but all equipped for a short stay. Breakfast takes place in a conference room and offers something to start in the day. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately, the room was extremely ring-hearted, so we could best hear the Asian travel group from their rise to the departure with the car on Sunday morning at 07:30. - Franks per night the accommodation does not meet the price-performance ratio. The beds are rather narrowly measured. The room was at tropical temperatures above 30 degrees, which were to be tolerated only with open windows. This means additional noise emissions from outside conversations and roller bags.

The Belvedere Strandhotel in Spiez was a great hotel for me and my husband during our time in the Interlaken region. Upon arrival, the hotel kindly sent a shuttle to pick us up at the train station, a true perk when you travel with luggage (the hotel is a 10 min walk from the train station). We loved the pool/spa areas, which were great for relaxing after a long day of hiking/tourism. The spa overlooks the lake and we even sat in the sauna while it rained to take in more of the view. The staff was friendly but there was a bit of a language barrier. We would have given the hotel 5 stars but the room was terribly hot and opening the windows would attract bugs (plus it didn't really help cool down the room). Otherwise, the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious.

The scenery outside the window is excellent! Very beautiful environment, very comfortable and refreshing. There are free parking spaces and it is easy to find. Although it is a bit into the mountains, the scenery along the drive is very beautiful. The disadvantage is that it is really not clean, very old, and the bed is sunken, the pillows are also flat, not sleeping well... but it is worth it with this beautiful view.

We visited Beatenberg as part of our road trip to Switzerland and amazed by the view of this village hence decided to checkout earlier from our hotel in Bern and stay in Stern hotel for the rest of our trip. We had a very nice, cosy, clean penthouse with a balcony and perfect view. I can’t recommend the host ( Vlad ) more than enough. His hospitality skill is fantastic and made us feel at home. He is a very social, kind gentleman who is always keen to support when needed. He advised us on the best attractions around the village and how to plan well for each day to enjoy the most. We all cant wait to return back Thanks for everything Vlad. Hope to see you soon again
