Old Town老老少皆宜(程世荣)The old city of Rotenberg in Germany is worth a visit. The ancient city walls and plank roads can now be visited. When we came to Rotenberg, there were many tourists in the old city, but there were not many people on the ancient city walls and plank roads, so it was very convenient to take pictures.
Town Hall TowerSsuifeng2019Go straight along Buyunlai Road and you will reach the town hall. You can climb the tower of the town hall, which has a wide view. It is very small and can only accommodate more than ten people. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the whole town in 360 degrees.
Plönlein1138***96It is worth a visit. It is best to stay in the city. You can take a leisurely walk around the city before sunrise or at dusk, on a sunny or rainy day, alone or with your loved ones. It is even better if you make an appointment in advance for a popular meal at the Vampire Restaurant. If you fail to make an appointment, don't be discouraged, after all, there are many delicious restaurants here.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber__NV***75This is Rothenburg, where I stayed during summer vacation when I wasn't assigned to a school during my language study abroad! The streets are still paved with stones like in the Middle Ages, so it's difficult to pull a suitcase in some places. You can enter this small city through four gates in the castle walls. It's a large city that you can easily see around in four hours, but since it's not a perfect square road, Google Maps isn't that helpful. Just walk however you want and you'll eventually arrive at the city hall. At 12 o'clock, a Meister doll holding beer will come out and tell you the time. At night, there are events where volunteers walk the streets and introduce various places in the city, so I recommend participating at least once.
St George fountain__NV***75Rothenburg is a very small city that you can easily see around in 4 hours, but you can't stay in it for only 4 hours because it's so cute. It's a place I always come back to as a memory of the year I spent here in my early 20s. It's a city where time seems to have stopped... They say it's a Christmas city, but in the winter, it gets dark at 4:30, so you can't do anything. Come in the summer. It's bright until 8:30 in the evening.^^
Castle GardenSsuifeng2019Due to the weather, there were few people in the castle garden. I met a dog walking with his owner. In Germany, dogs are really like family members. They can stay in hotels and go to restaurants with their owners.
Old Rothenburg Craftsmen HouseJjuki235There are all kinds of ancient handicraft shops on the streets of Rothenburg, selling handicrafts made by the craftsmen themselves. They are very simple and exquisite, full of local regional characteristics. It is worth buying some as tourist souvenirs to bring back as gifts or collections.
Medieval Crime MuseumJjuki235There are many torture instruments on display in the Crime Museum, as well as the objects and reasons for the punishment. It is very novel. It is my first time to visit such a theme museum. However, I personally feel a little uncomfortable because the wax figures are a bit realistic and a bit disgusting. The ticket is a bit expensive at 5 euros per ticket.
Church of St. JamesSsuifeng2019The Church of St. James in Rotenberg was built in the 14th century, and the church has an altar of holy blood, depicting the scene of the "Last Supper", which is said to be dedicated to the last drop of holy blood of Jesus.
