My wife and I stayed for three nights at the hotel, attending a conference in Aarhus. The hotel is very central located, almost opposite the railway station and with excellent access to the shopping streets. The hotel is a little old fashioned, but very charming in an art deco style. The room we had was quite small with almost no place for storing suitcases, and located on the first floor close to the entrance of the hotel. However, as we were told in advance, the location could be quite noisy, it surprised us positively that it was very quiet, almost no disturbing from the pedestrians or the traffic outside. Breakfast was served downstairs in a wine cellar, it lseems. Breakfast was sumptous and good, typical Danish food and with multiple choices. Staff was attentive and friendly. In the loppy free coffee, fruit and cakes were available free of charge for the guests in a nice, but small place to sit down for small talks after the meetings. We came by car and was offered parking space in a parking garage about five minutes walk from the hotel. OK, but not so practical for travellers with heavy luggage, as it was not so easy to park outside the hotel. The elevator was old fashioned and quite small, no problem for us staying on the first floor, but more challenging for those staying at the upper floors. Except for the small size of our room, the hotel gives us good memories, definitely one to recommend if you are looking for central location and not going after aultramodern. It offered a solid brakfast and a central location. Best for couples, perhaps not so good for families with small children. Henry J Grindheim, Asker, Norway
As returning clients of more than a decade we were shocked and appalled when we learned first-hand of the hospitality- or lack of same- of the new owners. The Bühlmann family, or should I say familia with all the not-so-nice Godfatherly connotations of this word, are rude and unpleasant in the extreme, bordering on the downright intimidating. We used to regard Hotel Villa Provence as a home away from home but will now earnestly advise everybody to simply not go there. When we tried to book a room and had agreed on our usual price (DKK 1890) we received a confirmation with the price well above DKK 2000. A subsequent complaint over email resulted in the price going further up - this time DKK 2.220- and when we finally phoned the reception the young and clearly incompetent assistant was rude and insolent in the extreme. I asked to get the manager on the phone and had to endure a thankfully rather brief conversation, in the course of which I was told to stay away and in future would be physically barred from entering any of the hotels owned by la sua familia, The Bühlmanns. During the call I had the distinct impression that Le Padrone might be drunk- or worse. We promptly cancelled our Easter vacation in Aalborg at Pier Five, another hapless establisment in the clutches of La Familia Bühlmann, and vowed to terminate our dealings with Godfather and his ilk. Not without compunctions, though. Hotel Villa Provence used to provide genuine hospitality and service sans pareille- and we have spent vacations both at the Castello Di Velona in Tuscany and Spaletti Trivelli in Rome. However, all good things have an end and nothing lasts forever: Sic transit Gloria Mundi! Dear fellow connoisseur of fine hospitality and travelling: Dont even think of going near the place unless you want a real-life Basil Fawltyesque experience- only without the comedy but most surely with a genuinely intimidating peppering of something very, very unpleasant.
A very nice hotel, the environment is very quiet, the rooms are uniquely decorated, there is a kitchen in the room, you can cook by yourself, which is very good, the plates, bowls, pots, etc. are all available, a very good experience

Booked a single room, the room is a bit mini, the bathroom is indeed a bit small.
But the service is very good and the breakfast is very good.
The overall price of Denmark is very high,
The price/performance ratio of two minutes walk from the train station is still ok.
After Arriving in Denmark from Vietnam for a business trip, this hotel was a stone through from the office where I was going to be spending the next 10 days in Aarhus, Denmark. The Hotel is modern, functional and clean, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast was perfect, the staff were always attentive and my overall experience during my stay was excellent. The hotel is somewhat outside of the town of Aarhus, but a small frequent train/tram service is literally a few hundred meters walk from the hotel... the hotel as a small bar where you can enjoy a nice cold pint of Danish Beer!!!

Excellent
GGuest UserGreat hotel with really nice large and bright every clean rooms . Bathrooms were very clean and had toiletries available. Ladies at reception were absolutely wonderful . From speaking English better than most Native American speakers to being full of information and happiness they were great . Great secure bicycle storage . Within 5km. of the Ferry from Aarhus to Sealand . Straight shot on our bicycles . Very good breakfast and many very good restaurants within walking distance for dinner .
GGuest UserBest way to describe this hotel is it is functional, not fancy. Everything you need for a short stay is available and they do advertise the rooms as ”industrial” look (i.e. unfinished ceiling). Check-in is only available via kiosk even if an attendant is available at the front desk. The elevator is 2-door style. WiFi connectivity was reasonable and TV was operational. Convenient that a small table with chairs is in the room and overall was spacious enough for 4 of us. Pros: free parking - close to many supermarkets and also the mall Cons: the curtains do not block out the sun sufficiently. Given the long the sun is up in summer, we had to improvise and clip the curtains together to get any blackout effect. For our specific room, the bed sheet had a stain on it (looks like it remained from an earlier wash). For a quick bite, try the Pølsevognen Viby Torv in the park across the street.
GGuest UserUnsure on whether we should use another service or hotel we booked with Wakeup on short notice, when we arrived we were greeted very pleasantly and professionally. The room was comfy and clean, breakfast each morning was delicious with a selection of fresh bread, cheese, meats etc.. Checkout was quick and the location couldn't be better - a walking distance from everything we wanted see and do. Would definitely use again.
GGuest UserThis Hotel is a typical low budget hotel with small rooms, but everything you need is there. Location is very good but of course you will hear some noise during the night - especially in weekends. The room was clean and the reception staff was very welcoming and service minded. Breakfast is also OK value for your money. Only minus is that you cannot reserve a parking in advance and when we arrived the parking was full but we found rather expensive parking on the street outside.
We stayed at Kings Garden 1 in August. The location is on the top floor of an office building, and it is obvious the unit was renovated from a previous office space. Their listing specifically boasts an elevator available to use for a 4th floor unit. When we arrived, the elevator was not working. When we entered the unit, the floors were still completely wet from mopping. The kitchen area is an afterthought, with lack of storage space and items such as a cutting board or drying rack. There is no AC so we left windows open to keep the apartment cool, but there is a LOT of noise at night. However, one night there was a party next door in Daniel & Jacobs adjacent apartment, Kings Garden 2, that lasted from 11pm through the next morning past 10am. We could not sleep all night due to the loud music and noise from the party. When we contacted their email reception, which they claim is the fastest way to receive a response in 30 minutes, we did not hear back for over 3 hours. Then, when I finally heard back, I was given a security phone number to call for a complaint instead and they would not provide any assistance. We never received any follow up until I asked, and found out they did kick out the neighboring guests in THEIR apartment. This took multiple back and forth emails. They were not apologetic and would not issue a partial refund for the terrible night we had. Absolutely terrible customer service given the price of their units. Do not stay in any of their units if you want any sort of hospitality.
XXIANGYUNThis hotel is recommended by guests, it is really good, not far from Aarhus railway station, close to the beach with a good view, good sound insulation, quiet at night, good service.
CChaimaa KaouterGreat view! The employees were really nice.
I had hoped for a room on the upper floors as I feel the least disturbed, but unfortunately it was sold out so I got a room on the ground floor, which was annoying as guests walk past the room and look in all the time. So not much privacy in the room.
I think the room lacked a hair dryer and electric kettle, and maybe an air conditioner or similar on the hot days.
Breakfast was fine. There could well have been more options.
YYANThe flight was delayed, the hotel arrived in the early morning, the front desk was very nice. Because I dragged two big boxes, it was very hot when I arrived, and my face was red, and I specially sent a small fan to the room, because the Danish hotel is not air-conditioned!
VVivien_KenjiLes plus : - Système de check-in très pratique. - Très bonne insonorisation. - Sanitaires fonctionnels.
One thing I apreciated was that my bed didn't rattle when the sleeper on top moved. The bed confort was good. Very good location. Well maintained. Less good : Quite few toilets on 5th floor. I wonder if the one near room 515 - which is rather large - could be divided (upon length) in 2 toilets with entrances in the corridor of room 515.
The average price for hotels in Aarhus is AED 675 on weekdays, and AED 677 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
