A perfect location and run by a very friendly and serviceminded family that always are ready and more than willing providing you a perfect service. I have now been in this hotel 5 - 6 times over the last half a year and the experience is very high-end, every single time. The rooms are cozy and very clean. Sheets and towels are super clean and compared to the prize its a perfect spot if you need to stay the night. On top, the quality of the breakfast - including in the prize is much more than anyone will expect. It is very good and a lot to choose from. The staff is with an appropriate intervals coming by to check if anything is missing. This fantastic family run hotel has what it takes and a lot more. I will give my best to the staff and recommend anyone just to try it out.
I came to this hotel with my mom and a small dog. We were placed in a beautiful room with access to the courtyard. Immediately upon check-in, a pleasant surprise awaited us - bowls and food for my dog. It was very nice. The ladies at the reception were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and cozy, very comfortable beds, the room had everything you need. Around the hotel there is amazing nature and a huge area for walking, my dog was happy. There is also access to the sea. Good dinner and very helpful waiter. Also a very varied breakfast. We were very pleased with our stay at Højstrupgård. Many thanks to all the hotel staff for making this place even better! We will definitely be back!
The small Hotel Hamlet is a strange little hotel. Helsingør is a beautiful little town and well worth a visit. If you do decide to stay the night, worth it as this is one of the most charming places on earth, I wouldn't discount staying here because the staff are very nice and helpful and the location is really very good, near the water and the train station. Although our room was on a corner and had lots of light, it smelled just terribly of old dirty shoes. The carpet we suspected. We bought a bottle of Febreze and nearly used it all in three days. We left our windows open to air things out until we missed closing them before dusk and had to contend with mosquitos. The Saturday traffic is quite crazy and the hotel is across from one of the loudest bars in town, which was loud until 2am when patrons streamed out, so if you do decide to stay at the hotel ask for a room in the back if you wish to sleep on Saturday night. The bathroom had no window so got very warm if the door was closed. If you are there on Sunday there are only a couple of restaurants that are open in the evening so be aware of that as well. One last thing, the staff was so helpful, that when I thought I had left my new Italian sandals in our room and asked them to check after we left-they did not find the sandals but they made sure to look and emailed us back, be aware though that they do not staff the hotel after 7pm so make sure you are all set before then.

Breakfast is very delicious and neat. There is a big mart nearby, and there are many things to see in a 5-minute drive. The level of cleanliness in the room is moderate. The level of facility use is also reasonable. It has enough value for the price.
This is our second stay at Marienlyst. We had a fantastic first stay although the service in the main restaurant was below mediocre. Now with our second stay, we got absolutely zero flexibility from the booking desk or the front desk… I had asked to access the spa early on the arrival day as our dinner could only take place at 6 pm and with a five course meal, I couldn’t see us making time for the spa too (we had spa access included from 7-11 pm and again the following day from 7 am to 14 pm). Since we had to leave early the next morning, we would not be able to use the spa that day either. They told me that I could pay an additional DKK 700/couple to access the spa earlier. No changes were possible. Just to add here, an early spa access at Skodsborg Kurhotel is less than half of the what Marienlyst charge. I spoke to several of the staff members there and got the same answer. Nothing they could do to help out! With the prices they charge for a spa and gourmet stay, I can’t believe the lack of service and flexibility can exist in such a place. What a shame that an otherwise great hotel, fail so hard on the customer experience end.
We stayed 1 night at the comwell as a little familly getaway. As we are from Denmark the drive was definetly not a hassle. You can also get there by train from Copenhagen. The rooms are spacious and very chic, offering a nice dark luxurious feel to the overall ”ambiance”. In the lobby you can purchase your self a lot of different hygiene products from differnet local brands. In the room you will find a robe and slippers for every guest. The spa wich was a bit on the small side had a lot of differnet saunas and a real sized pool in the middle. There is also a jacuzzi in the garden. You can also purchase your way into a sauna with a view. The food was a 3 course meal that changes every day. The food was excellant and very classy. The breakfast buffet was basic but but with a much higher quality and attention to detail compared to other similar hotels. Overall a great stay. So if you are in tbe area go check it out!
