Best Galdakao Hotels

I can’t believe we had to stay here because we were very knackered from our long journey. Me and my partner were happy to see that we found somewhere that has space and were open at 6am, however the condition of the room was TERRIBLE! The lady told us the light doesn’t turn on, we were so tired that we weren’t even worried about the light. But as we were trying to get to the room we stayed in, number 24, we realised the basement floor smelt of nothing but SEWAGE!! When we entered our room the smell was unbearable, never smelt such thing. We were trying to force ourselves to sleep, worst night ever! Tried to speak to someone in the reception, the lady wasn’t even there? So called budget hotel but they charged us 55 euros for this horrendous experience. Don’t recommend for anyone!

Pleasant apartment in a quiet suburb with friendly reception. Nearby is a supermarket, coffee shop and a good bar/restaurant. Transport to the center is also easy with bus 38 (get off at the 1st stop after the complex) or metro. In addition, the complex is somewhat noisy (contact sounds and slamming doors), the apartment does not work as an apartment, because there are no kitchen utensils. There is also no cleaning and there are soaps etc. The latter issues do not have to be insurmountable and then the price-quality ratio is good. I do wonder what the noise will be like when the students return.

I thought the sauna was included in our stay that’s why I booked the hotel. When I’ve mentioned it to the staff about not having an additional cost to it when you book online, they told me is part of the spa . This is very confusing as if it was part of the spa why mentioning it and not including it in the spa section . Spa and sauna are not the same and if it’s a cost to it , that should be mentioned. Anything else was amazing . Also they don’t have a separate cost to the sauna only ! I just wanted to use the gym and the sauna , no spa though! There was no possibility to book the sauna without the spa. It’s like 20 euros per acces not per day which I thought it’s a rip off especially when you are already booked with the hotel and you’ve paid for your room! Again staff showed no flexibility , it was either pay for something you won’t use or you don’t get it! Ended up not booking it because I did not want to use the spa , and I thought it was a lot of money (20 euros) to pay for 15 min use of sauna only.

The location of the hotel is a little far from the tourist area, so I thought it might not be suitable for travelers without a guide. But inside the hotel, the entrance is very innovative and nice, Although we can't speak Spanish or English, the staff at the front desk and bar were very nice and made us feel at ease during our stay! The room was very spacious and clean.

Estuvimos del 23 al 26 de octubre 2024. Amplio, luminoso, camas muy cómodas y situado a 15 minutos andando del casco viejo. Pero....... La mampara de la ducha se caía. Los cajones de los armarios están, la mayoría descentrados y no cierran. El secador de pelo no funcionaba, lo dijimos en recepción y ”enseguida subirán uno que funcione”: nunca lo trajeron. La luz del espejo del baño no funcionaba y era dificultoso maquillarse ellas o afeitarme yo.

I spent 5 nights here , on arrival at the airport I took a taxi to the hotel took about 30 minutes, cost 25 euros ( October 2022 ) on arrival reception staff friendly and helpful I was handed a tourist map and shown places of interest. I had a room on the second floor, the room was clean and tidy, excellent shower room and toilet. Comfortable bed. Good strong WiFi signal. Quiet not a great deal of street noise. The tram stop is 2 minutes from the hotel, I used the tram quite a lot .Buy a Barik card from the ticket machine, there are Instructions in English. In my opinion a Barik card is better value than a Bilbao tourist card. The hotel has a great location from the seven streets, lots of bars and restaurants. Breakfast was good , nice coffee. There is a supermarket next door to the hotel. I would certainly return and recommend this hotel.
