Super hotel, low price, note for breakfast that is issued in the evening day before, good location, close to urban communication, everywhere you can get

The Park Hotel is very conveniently located at the central Turku, has buses passing and the main Railway Station right next to it. The place is in a beautiful historical building, and the rooms are cozy with personality and fun flare to the interior decoration, not the cold and sterile feeling that most modern locations have. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and had seen a good effort in offering a delicious and comprehensive breakfast. It was a delight to spend a night at the Park Hotel!

Inexpensive and good location

Fist of all check-in was poorly organized. When we arrived to hotel we had to call for a number shown in the door and then they gave us code for door. After that we had to choose key for our room from the counter. I think this way was not safe at all. At our visit we didin't meet staff at all. Our room was super tiny. We had two backpacks and even those didn't fit anywhere but we had to leave it in the middle of floor and jump over them every time we went to toilet etc. Room temperature was very high. It was hot outside but even hotter in the room. Corners were full of dust. And bathroom had lots of mold in the walls. Bed were really old and too soft, we both had backpain in the morning. Also there were no soundproof so you could here steps from next room etc. How ever, even when there were this much negativity I would say that in this hotel you can sleep one night 👍 At The time we were on our trip, this was the cheapest hotel in Turku.

TLDR: Newish aparthotel, free parking, contacless everything, quiet place, overall stay ”Scandic level” (without breakfast) Stayed about a week. We had originally booked a bit shorted stay, but had to make it longer (and that was super easy, just few click on their page and that’s done). Forenom is meant for people working on other city they usually live, so all the rooms have kitchen and washing machine. This Forenom is very quiet, saw only couple of people during our stay. The building used to be mental hospital for inmates in Kakola prison. Pros: • newish and very quiet • nice brick walls • AC • free parking • cheap! • code lock • easy to lenghten your stay Cons: • our lock ”died” during our stay (luckily one of us was inside!) and it took few hours to get a locksmith fix it. He had to open a box in our roof and it made a bit of a mess - it seemed that Forenoms have every now and then these problems. The staff was sorry on phone, but didn’t offer any refund, extra cleaning or anything. • cleaning was kind of basic - they should book some time for better cleaning (washing floors) every now and then. Also animal hair on sofa! Hadn’t booked an animal room (but obviously got one) • location is a bit off and area is evolving, so I hope there will be better walking fasilities in future All in all, would definately visit again. Pro tip: if you don’t go to supermarket by car, easiest way is to ride down to river with funicular and then take Föri (ferry) to supermarket on the other side of the river. They’re both free of charge and real Turku experiences.

Omenahotelli at Humalistonkatu Turku. Based on ad, looked fairly modern and reasonably prised, about 100 euros per night. There is no reception, you get in with door code. Taxi almost didn’t find the place, but finally we got there. First thing we noticed, was a full beer can on the hallway floor. Some hotels do offer welcome drink, but I doubt this was the case here. When we got inside the room, first impression was like grandma had died, and relatives had tasked alcoholic 70-years old simple minded uncle to decorate it as cheaply as possible. Rom was fairly spacious, but for some weird reason they had built a some kind of wall in front of beds, so there really wasn’t much space to squeeze yourself into bed (luckily we’re not big, large person might not make it). Next to bed, on the floor, there were some papers and empty medicine box. I laughed aloud when I Saw the pillow – size of a stamp and lumpy as hell. There was supposed to be some kind of “kitchen corner” – it was a simple cabinet straight from seventies, with minibar (empty) and microwave oven. Next to it there was a table (from same time period) and chair (advertised as sofabed) that you couldn’t really sit on, but that you could theoretically use as a “sofachair”. I didn’t dare to try, and there wasn’t bedlinen anyway. Next to it, on the floor, there was a large stain – I wouldn’t dare to guess what. Whole room smelled unpleasant. Unfortunately, you couldn’t open windows. Bathroom was ok. Toilet paper was under the sink, bit difficult to reach, and there wasn’t any kind of shelf in the shower to hold soap. Peephole on a door had been stuffed with something orange. Luckily there was a door chain. It looked like that electrical wiring had been done by electrician who was fairly drunk. Room was filthy, dust everywhere and some sticky patches on floor and on the door etc. Bed wasn’t a catastrophe (except the pillow) – cheapest you can find at Ikea I guess. My son was bit worried, if we would dare to stay there, but since it was 2 am we really didn’t have a choice. I woke up around 7AM, heard someone talking at the next room. There is no soundproofing, you can hear clearly what neighbours are talking.
