Room was fine, standard motel style. Pillows too soft and squidgy. Soap in bathroom had run out. Decent size room, ok for a motel. The food facilities at the service station were very poor at 8pm. The only food available was McDonalds, which I don't use, or WH Smith(!). The other places, noodles or rice seemed to have little left. I ended up with sandwiches and a bag of crisps. No proper hot meals, no chance of a glass of wine. Depressing atmosphere in the service station

Sunday lunch was superb. Salmon locally sourced and divinely presented Sirloin beef exceeding expectations and Yorkshire pudding tasty. Best cauliflower cheese and red cabbage accompaniments I have tasted. Brownie dessert (I asked for a tiny portion) as wasn’t sure if I could manage much. Great wine and service.

We've just returned from a very enjoyable 4 night stay at the Hilton Puckrup Hall, Tewkesbury. Our stay was made very enjoyable and comfortable by the staff. A big thanks to Tchin and Zara at reception, always welcoming and helpful also to Elias and Molly at the restaurant in the evening. Great service. Just a short drive into Tewksbury historic town, the hotel has a golf course, spa, gym and pool with jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms which we used often, and is set in gorgeous leafy green grounds, surrounded by the golf course and countryside. Breakfast was great with lots of choice, and breakfast staff were very helpful. We enjoyed delicious food for dinner at the restaurant that has a lovely, cosy ambience. The location of the hotel is great, easy access to the gorgeous Cotswolds, Wales and the Mavern Hills. But again, it really was the staff that made it, very welcoming, helpful and professional. Make sure you go into the historic Georgian, Puckrup Hall Manor House part of the hotel, a grade II listed building, connected to the reception area, a glass walkway that takes you through to a pretty glass garden room and lounge. Its beautiful, we enjoyed our morning coffee there. We will definitely be back. Management clearly run a tight ship, with a strong focus on professionalism and great hospitality. If you are after a historic hotel with loads of character this is a place to visit. We stayed 2 nights, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Beth checked us in efficiently and then appeared at the bar and served us with our drinks! This hotel is opposite the beautiful Abbey which is well worth a visit. The river Mill Avon runs behind the Bell Hotel which unfortunately was in flood when we visited so the riverside walk will have to wait for a return visit! Its also within 2 minuets walk of the quaint town with plenty of period character and coffee shops/pubs to keep you warm.
