For anyone wishing to stay near Cambridge but doesn't want to pay Central London 5-star prices, this is a great place to stay however there were problems. It is an exceptionally efficient system set up with an entry code and all done online. The room was clean and well presented. Waterbeach itself is not a place to rush back to but it is very convenient for Cambridge and its satellite communities. Two Big problems, one NOISE which is NOT the owner's fault but there were empty rooms so why place ALL the clients in adjoining rooms? I was woken at about midnight by the other couples saying goodnight and then next door played MUSIC? really? No accounting for the lack of consideration but the rooms are not well insulated. Secondly: breakfast is preordered, fine. There is a list of available food which is normally a buffet we presumed this was a self service , ie yoghurts and cereal etc.( I now think this was pre-order) as when I tried to help myself to yoghurt from the fridge the attending lady said ' I serve the breakfast' . Well I got nothing. No yoghurt, no cereal, no pastries, no smoothie, Worst of all, we asked for Americano coffee and were given milky something undrinkable. We were not asked if we wanted any refills, any water, NOTHING. I got a small bowl of lumpy porridge and a bit of fruit salad. Since buffet breakfast is the norm in virtually every hotel and BnB throughout the world, I think this is a reasonable expectation. I must re iterate if you need to be in or near Cambridge this place is still a great option
where do I start! the room we had was ok but very tired and in need of refurb, we were cold but reception gave us a portable heater, the bathroom was clean except for very dirty grout between tiles especially around the toilet, window blind was broken but useable. The spa pool is tired and cold, the sauna and steam room were good. We booked for an hours massage, my wife went in on time but I was 45 minutes delayed due to no staff. My massage lasted 45 minutes but was ok. We had the Serail mud treatment the next day which should have lasted 40 minutes but it was less than 30 minutes and hardly any steam. The room works on a timer so maybe the timer needs resetting. When I complained we were offer a day pass to the pass to take at another time. The wheel restaurant was ok but with a very limited menu, we booked with one night dinner included which was a choice of three starters, mains & sweet, to upgrade to the Á la carte menu was £30 extra per person which I thought was a little expensive, although a little cold the food was ok. Breakfast was not too bad the full English was not hot and the poached eggs were very watery. We had breakfast booked for each morning of our stay but, it was on the last day we had problems, the waitress asked if we had booked even though our room was on the list, she informed me she had many people booked but not enough space, I was abrupt and informed her the back of house problems are not mine so please seat us, it's not good when staff are telling you they have messed up, I did apologise to her when we left as I did get a little short. On checking out I asked the reception manager if I could speak with the duty manager, i was told they had nobody on site, i asked if they could call them so I could complain, reception told me if I complained she would be Kicked out so at this point I was rather annoyed and let her know, I was then spoken to by the Housekeeping manager and I must say she was the most professional person I had spoken to there, well done to that lady, listened to my complaint and apologised. Thank you Quy Mill for spoiling my 41 year anniversary of the day my wife and I first went out.....

No bed for third person made up, called receptionist I was told someone will come and do it, this was at 19:00 no one ever came, even after following up over the phone. I spent night sleeping without bedding, on plain sofa bed without a single pillow. Terrible experience and poor service. Not enough towels, just for one person & again after calling reception- I was told that they ran out of towels!!! This was enough for my family to bare after whole day of travel, especially the room booked was Executive one. So expected to be up to highest standard and service to be over the top, this isn’t the case. Cleanliness is very poor - see pictures. Dust everywhere and this wasn’t one day worth. After asking for partial refund due to poor service, I was given a silly look and smile, advised to sent email online. Do not bother going there.

Some of the photos/reviews dont do the house justice. Yes in some areas its dated, but more importantly its clean and quite. Owner was incredibly friendly and happy to help however he could. Breakfast was continental with pleantly of choice so more than adiquate. Short walk in to town. I'm sure I'll be returning on my next visit! Only complaint was the pillows were a little firm for us: but thats preference!
5 points for the environment and the size of the room. It is a very quiet hotel. The room is much larger than other British hotels. But the only unfriendly thing is that you have to pay for parking! In a place like Cambridge, you have to pay 8 pounds even though the parking lot is large. This is a bit expensive. It is a 15-minute drive from Cambridge. It is not recommended for non-self-driving tourists to stay.

The hotel is small and exquisite. The location is excellent. It is a 15-minute walk from Cambridge University and a 10-minute walk from Cam River. There are supermarkets, bars and local specialty restaurants around. The service attitude is warm and the breakfast is very delicious.
The Fellows House comes out of nowhere as there is a ton of construction going on in front of it. However, don't let that fool you as the entrance is around a few left hand turns and then you hit reception. Stephanie immediately took care of us. Our room was being readied and we had a small bite at the cafe near the main door. Ali, from Uzbekistan took care of us. Great attitude, service and spoke really well. The room was very comfortable and the bed was huge. The bathroom was super clean and everything worked with a press of a button and turn of dial. Great sanitation facilities. The pool, steam room and sauna were also excellent, plus the gym was very decent. For breakfast the next day, Pam, Dolly, Dada, etc. treated us really well and the assortment of food was ample. When we checked out, Ashutosh made the experience smooth and trouble free. He called us a car to pick us up and take us back to the train station as we headed back to London, after having dinner the night before at The Ivy (very good too). If you're headed to Cambridge, please stay at this hotel. Highly recommended, Debs and Dave
