The 1 bedroomed apartment I stayed in was lovely, very clean and modern with a small well equipped kitchen including toaster, kettle, hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher tea bags and coffee sachets. The bed is really comfortable and the bathroom large and attractive with a lovely walk in shower.
The hotel is in a lovely location, in the old part of Hull, the Marina is about a 10 minute walk.
Points to note,; it's a stones throw from Hull Minster and the bells are loud and ring every 15 minutes 24/7. The windows are not double glazed to prevent sound from the outside, but ear plugs are provided.
There is no reception or staff onsite, so you need to know what room you are staying in and you need a PIN to access the property and your room. Call the hotel direct to arrange this as the trio confirmation does not include room number or PIN.
All the staff give you a very warm welcome there isn't anything the staff consider to much trouble. All guest receive special treatment this doesn't occur in large chain even hotel with a higher star rating .Each room is equipped with a fridge and provide a bottle of water for each guest daily this wouldn't happen in 3 stars independent or large chain hotel .The rooms are comfortable and well appointed.angie the owner makes sure the rooms are exceptionally clean theres also her attention to detail the tastefully furnish ed rooms are down to her.Emma is lovely accomodating efficient receptionist along with the down to earth & helpful Nikki Then there's Charlotte part of the owners family such a helpful girl. The waitresses in the breakfast room are warm cheery particular Jackie &Caitlin.my sister has stayed here for a few weeks now the staff and the family that own it have looked after her like there own family she was ill and rush to hospital Emma Jackie one of the owners family Gary a lovely man all dashed to her aid wheñ she fainted emma & Jackie picked her up.Emma made sure i had a room close by when she was released from hospital reorganising the allocated rooms. Very close to hull train station and the center of town. Decor is dated but functional. The bath was big and comfortable and filled up quickly. Staff were friendly and helpful and made the stay easy. Staff and location the highlight for me.

Stayed for one night whilst in Hull on business. The staff were very friendly and the check-in/out processes were very easy. The room was relatively modern, however it was a little scruffy. Bathroom could probably do with a refurb. Hot tap appeared to be broken and spat out some horrible coloured liquid when I used it. Had to sleep with the windows shut as the A63 was very noisy outside, even in the middle of the night - don’t think I’ve coped in warmer weather! Fire escape light above the door was very bright and right in my eye-line when I was in bed - made it difficult to get to sleep as I generally like darkness (something a bit less bright would be more appreciated). £40 for a one night stay was certainly not bad value for money and I would not wish to advise anyone against booking. Once I fell asleep, I did sleep well. Might be tempted to try somewhere else next time, however.
I am afraid we booked this through a voucher with red letter days. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was that the front of the hotel does not look as good as the picture. You collect your key from a wall mounted security box . We entered the building and my first impression was that it was not a hotel but a hostel. Our room was on the first floor and to be fair the room was very clean and tidy as was the en suite. The whole ambience of the building and the interior corridors were not what I expected and therefore we phoned the proprietor and let her know we had replaced the key and would not be staying. Unfortunately we get no recompense for not staying so our voucher has now been used!

This place is not as advertised. Despite what the listing says here is no wi-fi at all anywhere. This wouldn’t be too bad but the location is also in a terrible spot for mobile internet or even phone calls. Neither my work or personal phones (two different networks) could make calls or get internet anywhere around the entire property. When I asked about the wi-fi they said “yeah, it’s always like that, it rarely works” and then “if you walk down the cycle path into the woods you can sometimes get phone reception there”. Reception was not even good enough to send texts. I paid extra for a deluxe room which had no shower, just a large jacuzzi bath which didn’t work and had broken off switches. The notice said to hang up the towels if you’re prepared to re use them but there were no hooks. The carpets were embarrassingly thin with tears and gaps. If you’re just a pub which serves food don’t advertise wi-fi, spa baths or deluxe anything, never mind advertise for weddings etc.
