Food excellent, if rather a limited menu. Perfect view of the loch. This was a hotel staffed by willing but exacerbated workers. It went full Fawlty Towers when one American guest sheepishly asked for a bath towel, “It’s in the dryer”. Not a hint of the banned “s” word. Might be better in full season. Management need to think about how they treat their team.
Stayed for one night during our trip to Scotland, after a long day driving we were ready for a good meal and a comfy be. On arrival we entered the bar area and the lady behind the bar explained there was no one around to check us in and she would complete our check in and take us up to our room, the lady was friendly and welcoming. We booked a superior double with sea view, a large room with beautiful views, the room was basic but clean and comfortable, the bathroom once again was basic but had everything you could need. The best views by far were from the side of the water outside the hotel, even more beautiful if the sun is shining. We had booked dinner for 7pm, I opted for a Sunday lunch and my husband had something from the main menu, when the Sunday lunch arrived it had very little gravy, I asked if it was possible to get a little more, this obviously offended someone as it seemed to be a big issue as the staff pointed and were clearly not happy, eventually someone came over to say it was Sunday night and they had run out, for some reason a few minutes later a jug of gravy arrived, confused us a little too! From that point the atmosphere changed and we were almost ignored until we headed to the bar to pay. Breakfast was the worst of the week, nothing to do with the food and it’s quality which was t the best but the young lady who was on duty, we entered the breakfast room and were ignored, I had to get her attention to order breakfast, she clearly wasn’t going to give us service with a smile! Check out was putting a key in a basket and go! No personal touch which seemed to be the norm for the Kintail Lodge Hotel! One nights stay £275 for B&B.
Very pleasant stay and the staff was absolutely kind and attentive , room was clean and updated . Small quaint establishment with food available for purchase , just a small walk from the water and very close to Isle of sky . I would stay at this establishment again . Very polite and courteous staff

I really hate to write a bad review, but there was just so little to like about our stay at the Isle of Skye Guest House. I chalk this up to me being a cheapskate and not understanding the Skye market, so DO YOUR RESEARCH. However, I will note that I saw quite a few similar facilities as we drove around the island -- a lot of tired looking inns that probably cost a pretty penny and were proudly displaying ”no vacancy” signs in early September. I started my search for lodging about 10 months in advance of our trip and quickly discovered that many options were already full, cost more than I wanted to pay, or both. So I ended up booking the Isle of Skye Guest House and there you have it. Read the other reviews -- they're all true. Our room was really small, had no storage space, and provided one of the worst beds I've slept on as an adult: the mattress was mushy, sagging, and thoroughly uncomfortable. The walls were thin, the windows old and single pane, and the bathroom so small you had to close the door before you could turn around. Worst of all, the shower flooded and we had to use all our towels to sop up the water. And, as others have noted: there's no staff on site. If I ever find myself staying on Skye again, it won't be here. It's not that it was terrible or unsafe or not clean -- it's just that it wasn't at all what I wanted or expected for the money spent. So spend more -- it'll be worth it!

I saw comments from other netizens that breakfast was delivered to the door, but when I checked in, I had already gone to the restaurant to eat. It was semi-buffet. You can order a hot food, milk, cereal, and fruit. You can take it by yourself. There is a window facing the sea, and it doesn’t get dark until half past eight in the evening.
We couldn't have been happier with this hotel! I was a bit hesitant to book here due to some negative reviews, but our experience couldn't have been more positive! I booked the Superior room, it was more than large enough for my husband and myself, and our adult son (the rooms were separated by a 4 or 5 step staircase, our son had the upper room, we had the lower). Beds and pillows were very comfortable, the rooms and bathroom were very clean! There is a fan provided in the room, thankfully, as I sleep with a fan on year round. The kind gentlemen at the desk even put one together for my son to use, much appreciated! The breakfast was fabulous, and the woman serving us each morning was an absolute delight! All of the staff members were kind, warm, and friendly! The bar downstairs is a comfortable place to hangout for the evening, there were mostly locals in there, lovely people, great conversations! I do highly recommend this hotel!
