Receptionist was lovely, polite and friendly. Easy booking in and parking was nearby. We were en route to a dog show. Room was very basic and quite dated. Bed was super comfortable and plenty of room for us and the travel dog crate. Powerful shower but the bathroom could do with a deep clean and an update/refresh as it was tired and dated. A Shame that there is only McDonalds on site for food.
Overall it was OK but I wouldn't stay there again.
Our first choice of hotel when we visit our home town of Staffordshire. Staff are friendly and welcoming, including the lovely resident cat! Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was served with a smile and delicious as always, with a nice selection of options. Love the fact that the crockery is Wedgwood - important to me as I was born in the potteries! 🥰 A bit of noise from the wedding party, but this is made clear on the booking, so was understood and expected. The hotel does its best to ensure guests are aware it is a wedding venue, it’s just a pity that the wedding guests don’t respect the fact that people may be sleeping when they ‘merrily’ return to their rooms. 😳 A great stay as always and we’ve already booked our next stay! Thank you ☺️
Stayed as a cheap stopover for Alton towers, it wasn't obvious but parking is free if you stay we already paid before check in but that's my fault! Room clean and pleasant enough. The Indian restaurant was amazing really authentic and done very well. For the price we paid I'd happily stay again although there is a fawlty tower vibe to the place, there was a tribute act on that was rather good you can tell they're trying in a difficult industry.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Stone House Hotel. Upon arrival, the staff were extremely welcoming; in the evening, the staff were conciliatory and table service was efficient. 🙂 The 'A La Carte' menu really suited my culinary tastes because I really enjoy fish and chicken courses. I really enjoyed my evening meals.😊 Moreover, if I requested a table near to the garden, then the restaurant staff were obliging, as to my wishes.🙂 The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. I was given a double room: I was pleased with the room, albeit I would have preferred a larger double room, with a walk-in shower. However, I can't wait to return to the Stone House Hotel in the near future. It was such a shame that I couldn't sit in the garden; I had chosen a week to stay at the hotel, during which it was inclement. 😞 The garden was extremely pretty and well-tended. 🙂
This training centre has many good aspects to it. However, trying to conduct training in a room full of wasps is more than distraction, and something the management should have paid attention to. Also, the covered walkways between the training rooms and the accommodation blocks stop before main entrance leaving a gap where residents must run the gauntlet of the weather. The fact that the paving stones have sunk in places along the walkways causing widespread puddling doesn't help those with indoor shoes on their way to dinner when it rains. The signposting to the car park for those arriving in the dark could also be better. That's the negatives out of the way. On the positive side, the rooms are small, but comfortable and cleaned daily. The food is industrial catering when the centre is full - and can handle several hundred guests. The food is well cooked and presented with estimates of calories. I especially liked a curry soup and the range of main dishes that represented many different food styles and cultures. There are a mixture of tables to suit all sizes of groups using the centre. There are also lots of coffee points and more biscuits available than I have seen for a long while, but good coffee machines are slow to produce a cup of coffee and that can be frustrating is there are many delegates breaking from large plenary sessions at the same time all wanting a drink. Bar prices are reasonable and there is a 24 hour costa coffee point for that late night need. good for a couple of days, but not sure about how I would feel if staying longer. Staff were friendly..

The staff was friendly and helpful the breakfast was good. The cleanliness of the room was excellent and had a good night sleep. The only minor complaint from myself is that they closed the bar early so was unable to have a quick pint 🙁. But would definitely use again if in the area.
