Best Widnes Hotels

Came to a family party close by so this hotel was very convenient - in walking distance. Reading some of the reviews I was a little worried what Hillcrest would be like but honestly I would stay here again. The reception area was clean and tidy as was the bar and restaurant. Check in was efficient and all staff and other guests very friendly. Rooms were clean and tidy with a good selection of towels, toiletries and a Nespresso coffee machine. Beds were comfortable and the hotel and surrounding area quiet to allow for a good night’s sleep. For a couple of nights for a visit to the area I would stay here again

Stayed at Widnes Travelodge a while back, I don’t often do reviews. But the staff were so great I had to. I was greeted by a lady called Jan, she actually recommended me places to eat locally, she was super friendly. After my evening out I arrived back to be greeted by Peter & Dan. They had to let me in the door as I forgot my key. Both were super friendly and helpful. Both made time to chat, and gave me extra milk and coffee. If I had to say anything negative, it is that the place could do with modernising. But the room and hotel was spotless.

I phoned this morning to enquire about disabled access and was greeted by Katie who was extremely friendly, kind, informative & most helpful, to say this was only Katie's third shift our questions were answered with great clarity and if unsure Katie went and found out. It was from my initial phone call & a second conversation with The Hotel Manager Angie that put all our minds at ease and we booked a family room for the 3 of us for February 2025. Excellent value. Room was very clean, staff were pleasant upon arrival and later in the evening when we called for a drink. Breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice and nicely cooked.

Beautiful hotel

Check in was quick and easy although there was no information given about the hotel eg pool opening times other than dinner may be busy due to several coach parties being booked in. The room was clean and tidy and there was a nice handwritten note welcoming us alongside 1 single serve pack of digestive biscuits even though the booking was for 2 people. The bathroom had 2 large dispensers for shampoo and shower gel but the shampoo bottle was empty and this was only discovered once in the room. There was air conditioning which was appreciated due to the rare appearance of the British sun that day but unfortunately the unit itself was very noisy whilst running so needed to be turned off overnight. Beds were comfy and there was the option to order additional pillows from reception that wasn't needed. Check out was quick and easy and the staff did try to help us answer a question about a local bus route to aid us on our onward journey but unfortunately they did not have this local knowledge.

We got married here 12.10, and the experience was worth every penny. We were placed in a beautiful, spacious and clean room which was perfect for what we needed. Every staff member that we came across was pleasant, both in housekeeping and bar/wedding staff. The breakfast in the morning was lovely. Nice and hot, and just the right amount of variety to avoid being overwhelmed. Onto the wedding. It went off without a hitch (that I know of!). I cannot thank Andy and Katie enough. Their communication throughout planning and on the day was fast, professional and to the point, leaving no room for misinterpretation or stress. Katie was always on hand for any questions I had big or small, and made it clear when she was unavailable so I was 100% aware of when to expect a response. Andy on the day was professional and organised. I knew exactly what was going to happen and when. He also had banter, and kept things lighthearted which calmed my nerves. Overall, I have 0 faults. I had so many compliments from all the guests. Customer service was fantastic and the venue looked amazing. Honestly thank you all so much for everything.

There needs to be more food choice. Maintence IE change or repairs to doors or radiators should not be carried whilst guests are relaxing, working or having a late sleep in. On 2 occasions maintence staff worked for several hours ruining my stay. Very very noisey.

We stayed here for a night after our flight into Liverpool airport, at the end of our holiday. The hotel is located over the road from the terminal building and alongside the long term airport parking. We were tired and just wanted somewhere to have a good rest before driving home. We enjoyed sitting in the bar lounge, and shared a great quality pizza here. Our room was comfortable and had an airport view. We had a good night’s sleep and felt refreshed the next morning. The hotel also offers a free buffet breakfast. We found this to be a little chaotic, but it was still a nice bonus to have. Overall, we recommend this hotel and will return when we next use this airport.
