Outstanding
After leaving the Togean Islands, we needed a place to stay in Gorontalo before we caught a flight back to Makassar. Our island resort noted that many of their customers often stayed in the New Melati Hotel. We arranged for transport from the Gorontalo ferry through the hotel and were met by a tuk-tuk (motorized rickshaw) driver who loaded up us and our luggage for the 15 minute drive into the town. The New Melati Hotel is a small complex of buildings on a pleasant street with a wide plaza in front (great for walking out at night when it is finally cooler). Our room was adequately furnished, clean, quiet, and with a comfortable bed. The AC was quite tepid, and the bathroom was open to the outside through vents, so it was important to keep the bathroom door closed so as not to make the AC struggle even more. Management spoke English, and it turned out that this is the New Melati Hotel, owned by the great-grandson of the man who began the first Melati Hotel. We met the owner’s grandfather and had a wonderful chat about his project to renovate the original hotel - now in a food court conveniently located next door to the hotel. There is also a mini-mart immediately adjacent, so besides the breakfast in the mornings, it is quite easy to get your other food/snack options satisfied within steps of the hotel. We also wanted to explore the town further, so used the original tuk-tuk driver to take us around the town. It was a perfect stop over place for us, and certainly budget friendly.

GGuest UserI think this is the best hotel at Gorontalo. Room was ok. Typically like other Aston hotel. And it was clean also. Staff were also good, very helpful. The view was nice. The location i think not far from downtown. The only problem you will have difficulty to find restaurants or local food around the area. You have to take a walk maybe 2-3 km to find a food. Other was ok

JJoSan_idI've stayed here for 5D4N on 23 to 27 Nov. Overall, its unpleasant experience during my stay. My goal is that management able to do conduct some improvement based on my review here, since Amaris name still under Santika big group First is that the water smells very bad like sewage water, and the color is brown on the toilette. I thought is only for the flush toilette water, but it is also for the shower and on the wastafel. I don't know it is the water filtration system on the hotel not working properly or all the water of this area is a brackish water. But when I visited nearest mall, they have fresh water and not smell at all. With that bad water, I was forced to brush my teeth with drinking mineral water bottle. Please fix your water’s quality The Housekeeping team is also very un-professional here. My room is not cleaned up yet when I return back to the hotel at 3.30 pm, even I’ve already ask to the receptionist in morning when I left the hotel for my diving activities (fyi that room hanging sign “do not disturb, clean up” is not provided in my room). And it is not only happen once or twice, I remember my whole stay here that I must ask request repeatedly to clean up my room at the afternoon when back from diving. While every morning I stated clearly that I need my room to be cleaned up before 2 p.m. It was so frustrating that they can’t accommodate simple request like that. As a diver, after my diving activity I required to take a shower immediately when arrived at the hotel, cleaning up myself, my diving computer and camera must be soaked into fresh water to prevent corrosion. Then I must wait again around 20 minutes when realized that the hotel didn’t made up my room when arrived back. Geezz… Due to pandemic situation, the hotel’s staff already informed me that restaurant is closed for breakfast, and breakfast will deliver to each room every morning. Earliest delivery can be provided at 6.00 a.m., so I ask to be delivered at 6.30 a.m. each morning to my room. And guess what, it always late to 6.50 or even 7 am, while I must leave the hotel and go for diving at 7 sharp. I must called reception repeatedly every morning to ask my breakfast not to be late, bit it came always late. And the worst of all, that on my last day stay here, it happen that restaurant is re-opening for breakfast. I didn’t get any information at all and when waited till 7.30 I called reception and they just informer me. What a shame. i know its a budget hotel class, but those 3 complaints are very basic requirement of every accommodation; water, housekeeping and meals. If the hotel failed to provide that, what do you offers then? To be fair also, the pros about this hotel is strategic location, and I was helped by their accounting team, I made mistake when book this hotel via online booking app. It should be 23-27 Nov, but I mistakenly booked for 22-26 Nov. They solved it well without any penalty fees, Special thanks to accounting team.

We stayed there for 4 nights from 29/10 and I am writing a feedback because I find the ones we can read here a little unfair or not up to date. Note that we were in wing D - 6th floor. Location: central. Cleanliness: perfect. Effective Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, even on the roof. Comfortable bed. Lots of choice for breakfast, even for Westerners. Nice swimming pool and its rooftop bar with a view of the whole city. You can even eat there and have dinner brought up. Pleasant staff and especially its manager who went out of his way to find us a scooter when there were no more at the rental companies. I would like to thank him for his extreme kindness.

GGuest UserDuring my recent stay at The Garden Hotel in Gorontalo, Sulawesi, I had a mixed experience. The room itself was adequate for a one-night stay but fell short of expectations in several areas. The cleanliness of the room was somewhat lacking, which detracted from the overall comfort. Additionally, the design of the room seemed a bit ill-considered; the window faced a dark corridor, which was quite unusual and did little to add to the ambiance or brightness of the space. However, it wasn't all underwhelming. The hotel did shine when it came to the breakfast provided. The meal was a delightful and simple affair, featuring a delicious rice and chicken curry that was flavorful and satisfying. This aspect of my stay was undoubtedly the highlight and added a much-needed positive note to the experience. In conclusion, while The Garden Hotel offers a passable option for a brief stopover, it might not be the best choice for those seeking a more pristine or thoughtfully designed accommodation. The exceptional breakfast, however, is a redeeming feature that guests can look forward to.

PPutriDEMy office held a meeting at this hotel last September. This hotel is strategically located in downtown Gorontalo, adjacent to a mall. Poor service at the front desk. The check-in process was long and difficult. I don't really like the furniture in the bedroom, looks cheap and fragile. Room cleanliness is also unsatisfactory. Breakfast is quite varied and tasty. The coffee is good. In the meeting room, the seating arrangement made the room feel cramped. The projector in the meeting room repeatedly had problem. Overall it's overpriced, but we had no choice since there were hardly any other hotels with big meeting room in downtown Gorontalo.
