Drilling service, cordial reception. Rich activities and ancient history are deposited in every corner of the castle...all of which make people feel more comfortable and relaxed. Going to Ashford Castle Hotel is not to enjoy its luxury (it is not luxurious) but to enjoy time travel, experience the architectural art, decorative art, art of life, extreme service, and the beautiful surroundings of Ireland 800 years ago. natural scenery.
We were very disappointed with the chairs in the room. They were nothing like what were in the pictures on the website. They were hard stackable chairs that you would see in a hall for a meeting. They were very uncomfortable. The bar was very cold on the Wednesday night. We asked to move from near the door where it was very cold. On the plus side, the food was very good and reasonably priced. The staff were all kind and helpful. One other thing I would say that as a 4 star hotel, I would have expected more bathrooms with shower cubicles. The only rooms with a shower were accessible rooms which have connecting doors to the next room. We have bad experiences of these types of rooms where there is no privacy as you can hear everything in the other room through the connecting door.
Stayed here for 3 nights. What a diaster. 8 couples not provided with rooms as requested. Staff not very helpful. Management said it was impossible to accommodate the 8 couples with rooms with walk-in shower as hotel was full. Large group leaving next morning and rooms would be available, but we would have to stay in the rooms allocated for 1 night. Not at all convenient. Large room, no charge point for phones, no toilet roll holder and no towel holder. Bed comfortable. Moved next morning. Some staff on duty at reception need to go to smile college. Again not as helpful as they could have been. 2nd room large n spacious. Would you believe there were 6 charging points for phones but still no towel or toilet roll holder. Where did you get 4 * from as not up to that standard. Bar staff run off there feet as there was only one on duty, brandy served in small glass, not a goblet, that’s not up to 4* . Goblets were sitting next to optics. Maybe bar staff should go back to school to find out what glass is for what drink. Food good n restaurant staff pleasant, especially Anna, who wasn’t on duty when we left although we had spoken to supervisor of restaurant to let her know about the service we received from this young lady. Won’t be staying again as the right hand doesn’t know what the left one is doing.

My wife & I stayed three nights. This was our third visit to Knock. Very enjoyable again and thanks to Stephen Rogers manager for giving us a refurbished room 119. Walk-in bathroom nicely decorated but only concern was the shower wasn’t powerful enough. Accommodation increased the valve but it only improved it a little which overall was a bit of a shame. The most important part of the show should be the power. The dinner package we had was 10/10. Nice plenty of shoulder of lamb absolutely delicious and next day big portions of Irish beef thick cut and very tasty. Full marks and highly recommend was the waitress Anne. Very polite paid real attention and customer service 10/10. We will be back again and next time will bring our young adult son and daughter. Attended the old church mass and baslisca on Sunday. The cafe which is 5-7 mins from the basilica serves delicious cakes with cream and ice cream.

Excellent
There was blood spots on our towels and toilet paper shoved in the peephole. The television was off to the side, directly across from the bathroom door, which made it uncomfortable to watch. There was a mirror directly across from the bed, which is really where the TV should've been. There was also no sockets on one side of the bed, which, while an inconvenience, wasn't really a deal breaker. Room was generally grubby. We had extremely loud neighbours, which security dealt with very swiftly once notified. I have stayed in this hotel previously, and the breakfast has really gone downhill. Myself and my partner both ordered the ”full Irish” breakfast, which was a rasher, two sausages, a rubbery fried egg, and a black pudding slice. On the menu it said we could choose how our eggs were done, however our waitress didn't ask us. The buffet is seriously lacking in options. As we weren't full from our meagre breakfast, we went to the buffet. My partner got a croissant which was stale (at 8am!) There were about 8 slices of salami and cheese, and we were there at 8am! I don't want to know what state it was in later on in the morning! The staff at reception, leisure centre and bar were very nice and helpful.
GGuest UserBooked over the phone for a Sat night, hotel put the booking into a Thursday night the month before. I didn't spot this detail on the confirmation as I've never encountered this issue before. While on return from business travel I get a Call on the Thursday night a month prior to ask if I am checking in, confirmation had been sent but I missed due to work travel. The following Saturday after this mess up I called to confirm my accommodation (for a burial of an English relative) the hotel then informed me they were now fully booked for said night, but had a room and would review and call me back - I followed up with an e-mail. I received no feedback, and 2 weeks before I need the accommodation I call and just get an absolute horrific response from the Manager - threats to debit my card, and she tells me my card was attempted for debit but rejected. Also told I need not discuss what happened as hotel knew it all Hopefully I will figure something else out as I have to travel - but in all my life I never experienced such AWFUL COMMUNICATION. Mistakes are made but own them - I should have checked confirmations, but am not responsible for entering the wrong date - the hotel did this.
The perfect venue in a gorgeous location for a special family gathering. From the beginning the team at this hotel were absolutely fantastic . After arranging a group event in their hotel they were so helpful arranging rooms , spa treatments and food . Beds were so comfortable and rooms with lots of space , the food was absolutely fabulous for all meals in the bar and such a nice breakfast and evening meal in Luseas Restaurant which was absolutely fabulous. The spa is so lovely if you would like a nice treatment their team are outstanding professionals. The staff were so helpful, kind and friendly. Thank you to Carmel , Emma in reservations for helping me with this , Our waitress Aoife (Luseas)for making our weekend so special. Sarah , Shamus and the Murray Family Galway
Visited here for a work outing recently. Very impressive hotel with excellent facilities. Food and drink was served to the highest quality. The rooms were very spacious and well presented. Would highly recommend this hotel and will hopefully stay again in the future.
I stayed two nights here this week. I had reserved a room for single occupancy but had to pay the full amount which was for a triple room. I felt this was rather steep as I only used one bed, one set of towels and ate one breakfast each day. The room itself was well furnished and the bed linen was white and fresh. The bath towel was on the small side. The kettle and tea tray was very welcome but the provision of only 2 teabags was a bit meagre ( considering I was paying for three people). The bathroom was lovely and the shower powerful and the cubicle spacious. I was very surprised that neither the bedroom not the bathroom were tidied at all. I would expect the bed made and the wash basin cleaned as an absolute minimum. The bathroom window was directly behind the toilet so one had to keep the blind closed at all times. Frosted glass, at least in the lower half would be ideal. The breakfast was adequate. The layout looked very attractive but I was surprised to see “ shop-bought” Irish brown bread and tinned fruit. The tea and coffee was plentiful and very good. The cooked breakfast was pretty good. I ordered the small breakfast, ie one egg and one rasher etc. On the second morning I asked for some mushrooms to be added and they were. Although I should say it was as they served 4 quarters of a mushroom. The waitresses were charming and friendly. I would not stay again or recommend it as it does not represent value for money.
