Let's start with good things first. The hotel is at a beautiful location, although a little farther, but away from the crowd and noise, at a peaceful place, a visually appealing huge property. The hospitality and demeanor, the behavior of staff is really great, they are very professional, humble and polite. The resort has multiple stay options, including cottages, cottage with a private pool and hotel like rooms too. The cottages look great, but since we wanted to book separate 2 rooms, online portals only provided options to book the Beach Cove side. We stayed for 3 days with a Senior Citizen and a 2 year old kid. Best part of the Stay - Food, Comfortable Rooms, Hospitality. Commute: Avoid the beach Cove side of properties, it is 3 floors below the ground level and very far from the main gate. You may have the partial beach view (can see it from 1KM), but the inconvenience and commute is not worth it. Only way to reach here is to walk and take an old lift. Which even though is good and always has a staff, inconvenient as the rest of the way is very hard to walk for a kid and senior citizen. They provide a van at times until the lift but you can be waiting a long time to get it or some times they can just say they don't have a van. Beach Access: The beach is quite far from the back gate and not as walkable as the reviews and descriptions make it seem. The back gate itself is far. Once you get out of the back gate need to walk far to get to the beach. No commute available and resort doesn't ***age anything to reach there. They expect people to walk. No empathy for senior citizen and kids. The gate access itself is limited till 6PM only, so if you are planning to watch the sunset at the beach, plan to come back walking 3-4KM to the main entrance from outside the property. It is difficult to find an Auto or other private vehicles too. Amenities: Kids play area, 2 pools, Trampoline, Good Restaurant, TravelDesk, Ayurveda therapy, consultation Food: Expensive! Low value for Money!! The Buffet is very costly and very repetitive and bare basic. For once or twice it is okay although you can't have this every day and night. No consistency, what you ordered and liked today, may be bad the next day. No empathy for special instructions like non spicy food etc. Desserts were good. Room service is terrible. The menu has very limited items, barely any options. They don't even provide plates, spoons and bowls and spoons enough to feed all the people. The Chapatis go hard as a Metal sheet in few minutes. Every order needs 2-3 follow ups to get it right. I posted this review although and the service difference on the last day was Humongous! Wish they could ***age crowd and pressure better. We had asked for some Food To Go on the last day, while they pleasantly arranged for the Lunch parcel, the packaging was terrible and the Khichdi spilled over the whole bag. Was embarrassing at the airport and flight, but we couldn't have just thrown it away, since i

Good day everyone! It was my first time visiting India, Kerala, Ideal Ayurvedic Resort. To say that I had an unforgettable experience is an understatement. My 2 week stay at the Ayurvedic resort was simply excellent, from arrival at the airport till departure. The staff, service, food, treatment, ayurvedic massage are all top notch. I examined the local Ayurvedic centers and want to mention that there were centers with a higher level of accomodations, but Ideal Ayurvedic Resort corresponds to the price and quality. After two weeks of treatment, my general condition and mood noticeably improved, excess weight was noticeably gone, my skin condition were restored. I left with the intention of returning to this place again... Thank you for helping me to discover India at its best!!! Special thanks to Dineesh the ***ager, Vineeth restaurant admin, Jinu driver, Kavita massage therapist. My best wishes all of you in the New Year!
we have enjoyed peace and tranquillity in the hotel but there are quite a few issues to address. we have stayed in three luxury hotels during our holiday in India and this is our least favourite. negatives: the receptionist needs training, communication is really poor (as a non-Indian). there was a festival during our stay and that would've been a great opportunity to soak up real Indian culture. I called the reception a few times over two days, asking what the noise was and they just said there was a festival. I do not understand why we have not been given more information and possibly offered a cultural experience. I say this because on our first day, I read a brochure in the room that promotes integrating in the village; offering biking, milking a cow, fishing etc and when I went to the reception, I was told they do not offer any of these-why is it in the brochure then? clearly we would've loved to have spent time learning about the area. WARNING: huge container port is the back drop of the restaurant and the pool area. you will eventually get use to the sight but what a shame that it is there! due to activity of the port, the water is choppy and the red flag has been up all the time. the unmanned BAR is not welcoming, again shame-this would've been a great opportunity for the guests to spend money in the hotel. positives: the SPA is great, the masseuses are very experienced and the doctors are very engaging. do not miss using this facility while you're here. food at the restaurant is great, the chef comes out to speak to the guests. they have cooked us personalised meal on our last night, which is a good touch. lovely well kept surrounding, full of bird life and coconut trees. we loved the traditional villas and it is very clean! the question is, would we come back?
Overall stay was good. Ayurvedic massage was really helpful and refreshing as we were travel-ling since 10 days. Food at their newly launched restaurant was so delicious.
Very good hotel. Clean that for India is very good. Location is also successful, not far from the beach. Fruit points are also in step-by-step availability
Im continue to discover hotels from Somatheeram Ayurveda Group. And this time got experience of SomaPalmShore, which is located in Kovalam near light house - very tourist area, and the same time is so quite place. In one side you get all possibilities from shops, cafe , etc . And from other side you can have a peace & silence at SomaPalmShore which is hidden in private beach . I just love the surrounding of the hotel , and all team. At reception, restaurant & of course Ayurvedic doctors. Id like to say special thanks to Asst.Manager -Guest Relations Sopna Mohan, for making our stay & my friend’s birthday unforgettable experience. See you soon again
The location is excellent. Very near to the beach. You can see the mesmerizing view of sunset from the hotel upper deck. Food is good. Can have more variety in breakfast but the preparation is good. We had a room with a balcony facing the sea. It was lovely.
