Nice hotel. Very stylish exterior. The hotel is very conveniently located on the way from Keflavik Airport to Reykjavik. We stayed the day we arrived in Iceland and the last two days after traveling around the island before returning home. Good breakfast. It is very important that there is a restaurant that is open from 18:00 to 22:00, because in Iceland finding food after 17:00 is another challenge... Free parking. There is a supermarket nearby (500 meters on foot). The Airport-Reykjavik bus stop is also near the hotel (50 meters) for those who do not rent a car. Highly recommend if you are happy with the price of this hotel when booking!
On the downside, the tap water smells like sulfur, but this is Iceland - a country of geothermal springs!))
P.S. the hotel has a free swimming pool with geothermal warm water + sauna for visitors. They work until 22:00.
The breakfast is very rich! ! The point is that the hotel is very clean and warm. The front desk is great. Although there is a certain distance from the city, there is a bus stop behind the hotel. It is very convenient to buy a ticket from the front desk of the hotel and get to the city in less than half an hour! ! The bus is also very punctual, if I go next time I will choose to live in this place
6.7 kilometers from the city center, a bit far. There are no attractions nearby. In the morning, the airport is too early for 4:00. Flybus can't pick up the hotel. You have to spend more than 3,600 Icelandic krona to fly to the Flybus terminal and transfer to Flybus to the airport. The breakfast was good, but the early departures were not willing to provide breakfast. If you want to bring breakfast out of the hotel early, you will be asked to pay extra. The original paid breakfast fee is not refundable.
I was supposed to collect the room keys from the Vikings Hotel, which is located elsewhere, but the keys are left inside the room and they never sent me the email with the room number.
We were 2 adults and 2 children, but there were only blankets on the bed for 2 people, and only 2 towels for bathing.
The rest, everything is very good.
I have nothing to say, I highly recommend it, there are several advantages: 1. Although it does not contain breakfast, the pots and pans are all full, you can do it, and you can eat well; 2. The problem is coming, what do you do? Shopping? The road is opposite to the supermarket, and there are supermarkets around, everything is there; 3. The location is not in the city, but the road within 4 kilometers, the basic self-driving here, so there is no problem; 4. The airport is closer than the city, and it will be fast in a while.
With a stay at Aurora Nooks in Kópavogur, you'll be a 3-minute drive from Laugavegur and 9 minutes from Reykjavik Harbour. This apartment is 2.5 mi (4.1 km) from Hallgrimskirkja and 3.3 mi (5.3 km) from Harpa.
Guests will find features like a virtual front desk.
Make yourself at home in one of the 39 guestrooms, featuring kitchenettes with stovetops and microwaves. 42-inch Smart televisions with digital programming provide entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. Conveniences include coffee/tea makers and irons/ironing boards, and you can also request cribs/infant beds (complimentary).
Perfect location for a quick stop in Reykjavik. It’s not the cleanest of places (kitchen sink and stove was a bit dirty, but hey… what do you expect? It’s very clean compared to other hostels/hotels with shared kitchens like this!) but still worth every penny. I’d go there again any time. They do have a cozy library. All in all I really do like the vibe of the place 🫶🏻
