A stone’s throw from the train station, just inside the old city walls lies the beautifully renovated Grand Universe Lucca, Autograph Collection hotel. Our family of 3 had a wonderful 5 night stay here over Christmas. Antonia, Maria & the entire team went out of their way by preparing a birthday surprise for my son, and we had a Christmas treat lying in our room on the evening of 24th Dec. Breakfast was personalized, with staff recalling our favorite drinks, each of us being greeted warmly and someone checking multiple times to see that we had everything we needed. Our rooms were cleaned thoroughly every single day, including turn down service on Christmas Eve, when the service came with cookies- which was a real pleasure. Highly recommend a stay here. Needless to say Lucca itself is a beautiful, unspoilt city - which retains its small city charm. We had a Christmas market & live music just outside the hotel and were able to walk around the city walls with residents each morning in the bright sunshine. Lucca is also within easy reach of a number of other places- Pisa, Florence, Viareggio, Cinque Terre, making it a great pit stop. Arrivederci e grazie Lucca & Grand Universe!

What a lovely hotel this is, in a relatively quiet location within the city walls, yet only a short distance away from the centre. We received a warm welcome and were escorted to our room at the top of the building. Here we had delightful views over the rooftops of Lucca. The room itself was immaculately clean, sharply decorated and very comfortable. Breakfasts, too, were excellent, served (weather permitting) in the small courtyard at the front of the hotel, by cheerful, helpful staff. Should we return to Lucca we would most definitely choose Palazzo Dipinto again.

The hotel is very close to Luca Railway Station and the hotel is on the right hand side after leaving the station. This is an older hotel. The room is large and the room is very large. The basic facilities are complete. The windows of the room are large and the ventilation is good. The hotel staff is warm and thoughtful, and the natural consideration provides a lot of help for passengers. The hotel's breakfast is a relatively simple Western breakfast, simple and delicious. Lucca is an ancient city, the road in the city is not easy to walk, so short-term tourists live in this hotel is the most convenient, out of the station, especially suitable for passengers with more luggage. Pulling a large suitcase, don't live in the depths of the ancient city, travel will be very inconvenient.

Great location with onsite free parking just outside the city wall. Rooms were well decorated with comfortable beds and good sitting areas as well plenty of towels. It was quieter than we’d expected and the little garden looked like an oasis for the summer. The staff were very helpful, recommending key places to visit and giving good, inexpensive dinner recommendations. The property overall is characterful. The breakfast room was rather dark and breakfast itself leaned heavily to sweet stuff, something we found elsewhere in Italy. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this place, especially for a one nighter closeish to Pisa.

Hot room // a/c weak and they didn’t seem to care. We stayed at this hotel about a decade ago. It was awesome - clean, fitness center, free parking, great location and good food. Unfortunately, it has NOT aged well. We were given a room that was very hot. The a/c was weak and the hotel made a habit of turning off the entire system with enough regularity that our room was uncomfortably warm. As a result, we did not sleep well any of our nights there. Worse yet, the front desk staff was defensive and unsympathetic in reaction. They accused us of not bringing it up when we had called and stopped by the desk over 8 times in 2 days — and had just spoken to the same guy!!! Another guest also mentioned their room was hot too, so it’s not just us!!! The design in the room also gave you the choice of covering the weak a/c unit with the curtains (and having some shading but even weaker a/c) or the opposite. There was just no winning there!! The breakfast felt more “best western” mediocre than a 4+ star hotel in a great Tuscan town and the fitness center and spa were closed. If you want a comfortable stay in Lucca, look elsewhere.

For breakfast, included in the booking, on request they made us find gluten-free products for a chelyaic person (all fresh and very good!). Very good and quite varies the normal breakfast! GGuest UserIn this living room I tried two out of three rooms: very large, spacious, equipped with everything, including coffee machine, boiler, caramels and a pleasant appetizer kit with potatoes and analcohol drink. We enjoyed it in the small garden furnished with tables and chairs, and impressed by small lamps and wires of sunlights. Then, by name and fact, the common bathroom and the private bathroom were well cleaned, provided with dispenser with shampoo, bathroom and even balsam. At the entrance a filtered water boiler always available to fill glasses and But the real girl in this place is the courtesy of Cristian, who provided us with photos with indications to reach the structure, photos to walk in the centre, information useful to dine out or for events in Lucca. In other words, very organized and always available for guests' requests. Interesting and comfortable self-checking! Recommended!!!! One note (Light is out of the walls): watch taxis if you have the train early morning: they don't accept bookings and We found no one available for arrival at the station 40 minutes earlier.

Very Good
SsiemonssGood base for exploring Lucca, just outside of the city walls. Parking is a bit of a search, directly in front of the B&B if you are lucky. Otherwise there are other free parking spots available on walking distance or paid options closer by. Comfortable room and great and clean bathroom, airconditioning working well. Breakfast is simple but good!
