Best Mazzeo Hotels

We have just come back from a wonderful stay at Hotel Rivage…from the moment we arrived, the team were so friendly and welcoming! The room was perfect, with a gorgeous sea view. Everything was super clean and the cleaning staff are so lovely. When our flight home was cancelled, the team did everything they could to give us our room for another night/day. Huge thank you to everyone at the hotel and beach club, especially Gabrielle and Andrea who really looked after us. I would 100% recommend this hotel- we wouldn’t stay anywhere else! The hotel is in a good location, close to the archaeological park and has free parking. The room is large and slippers are provided. There are many varieties of breakfast and the taste is general. There is dinner and the price is good. The service staff can speak English and can provide travel advice.

This hotel is a joke. A very bad joke. If you want to waste your hard earned money and ruin your family vacation then this is the place to be, look no further. But if you want to have a nice place to stay and have a good vacation please stay away this rathole. This ”hotel” is something left behind by a long gone era maybe it was good during Mussolini and his era, but ín 2023 it is definitely an absurd very bad joke, a real rathole. The building itself is an old rundown place with very old, broken furniture, not functioning air condition and plumbing system. The air conditioner was at least 20 years old, making loud noise without any cooling effect. A real piece of junk. There was no adequate water pressure so showering was a challenge except you enjoy showering ín cold water only. But the hotel' s main ”attraction” was the restaurant. Now this is the most horrid place I have ever been. The food was terrible, impossible to eat, the portions were ridicoulosly small and the waiters were from a long gone Era As well. They were chatting all the time instead of working so we always had to wait forever to get our disgusting meal, which we couldn't eat anyway. We left the restaurant with an empty stomach on most days. All ín all Hotel San Pietro ín Letojanni should be closed forever ín the benefit of mankind. Please stay away if you want good for yourself and your family!

Going in October was great for us the hotel was geared to older people and we were informed it was completely different from the summer months. I would say this hotel is not suitable for children as there are a lack of facilities to amuse youngsters throughout their day only water play. We went as a party of three women and had rooms 5324 5326 and 5340. Each room was large, spacious, spotless, loads of storage and each one had an excellent sea view. Sleep was good as the hotel was quiet by 12 midnight. All of the team at the Olimpo-Le-Terrazze hotel were helpful, lovely and friendly a real credit to their employers. The outdoor pool was cold yet rejuvenating once we were brave enough to get into it. Round the pool loungers were plentiful, along with the joy of a stunning view. Food was plentiful and good we never had snacks even though they were readily available, we didn't need to. No complaints at all with food and drink availability. Night time entertainment was low key music and singing. The hotel had weddings whilst we were there and it also had weekenders staying too. The hotel is close to bus routes and the train station and the reliability of public transport was spot on. We did go out and about with plenty of opportunities to travel all over from there. The TUI rep was very informative and helpful we were confident to explore the area. Mosquitos were a downer for us yet they aren't keen on lemon juice that worked well for all three of us, creams, lotions and potions did nothing. All in all we were so sad to leave as the Olimpo-Le-Terrazze Hotel it provided us with great people who looked after us - with patience, great facilites, great location. The location of the hotel is absolutely unbeatable, with the views over the bay just making it feel quite magical, especially for sunrise or sunset. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was useful that there was onsite parking, though there was an extra fee for this. The breakfast was outstanding, especially by Italian standards, but really a very good range of breakfast options and out on the balcony with a gorgeous view over the bay. On the down side, The bedroom was small and the bathroom was really tiny. One morning there was no water pressure at all in the shower, which was annoying, but this was resolved the following day. However the size of the bathroom was really not very good, we thought - it was quite difficult to take a shower comfortably in such a narrow cubicle. That said, I think we got the smallest room in the place, as we were only there for two nights, and other rooms seemed to be larger, so it is worth asking for a larger room! The restaurant at the hotel (for lunch and dinner) was ok, but nothing special in my opinion, food-wise. The breakfast was definitely the best in terms of food. However, overall, I would still definitely recommend this place, as it was so well located and the views just so beautiful, as well as the person on reception being very helpful. Also only a 5 minute walk to the cable car up to Taormina, which was a really fun experience in itself and afforded some amazing views on the way up!

We were in the largest apartment, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is perfect apartment with air conditioning in all bedrooms, the only sin is the 2 bathrooms without windows and without aspiration. Outside there is the view to the hills (unfortunately also to the motorway) with 2 bedrooms and tables to eat. Very silent apartment with closed windows. Just make 200 mt. and you take a lift that will take you to the center of Taormina. A restaurant/hosteria is located above: you feel a little noise when open, but fortunately the evening closes soon. Very comfortable apartment for those who have the car as parked in front and you can move comfortable. The very friendly owner.
