It's an old hotel overall, and there was a musty smell in the room, especially the bathroom.
The women's public bath requires a key to enter, so security is tight, and shampoo, negative ion hair dryers, and the bare minimum of amenities are available for rent.
The loungewear was a little too thin, so I thought it might not be suitable for women to walk around the building after taking a bath.
Because the parking lot was free ◎
There were many convenience stores around, and welcome drinks were freely available at the restaurant, and not only soft drinks but also alcohol were free.
Apart from the water supply issue in the room, the rest are perfect. The breakfast was good, and the night views from the hotel was spectacular. The water supply in the room was too slow, and I had to go to the public bathroom for brushing teeth. The staff offered to upgrade us to another room, but we don't like the 2 single beds room so we decided to stay in the one King bedroom that we reserved.

Outstanding
GGuest UserWow, this was our first time staying at a Dormy and we loved it. We've stayed at other business hotels, and Dormy has been the best this far. The roof top onsen was great, very clean with lots of personal care products to use. They offer free ice cream (popsicles after onsen 🤤) and ramen in the evening, and free yakult in the morning. The room size is economical, bit larger than other business hotels we stayed in.
Parking is not free, it's 1300 a night (if there's space). If it matters, the pajamas they provide are not visually appealing, though they are comfortable (a shirt and pants, both using synthetic sweat wicking (think athletic wear) fabrics).
FFenzBed was so comfortable! I melted into the bed every night.
The room was very comfortable too, spacious and I absolutely loved the toilet. One of the bigger toilets I’ve had in Japan :)
The highlight though… was the view from the room! Check out how beautiful Himeji Castle was, both the day and night view is! You must request for a room with this view!!
You also get 10% off if you show your room card at the restaurant on the first floor :)
Location was also great!! Only 5-10 minutes walk from Himeji train station, there are also many restaurants/eateries around the hotel.
YYS adventure timeThis is a comfortable hotel to stay and quite popular with the Japanese locals. This humble hotel gives you a lot of bang for your buck. Breakfast is simple , hearty and well balanced. The staff is polite and helpful. You can reach the famous Himeji castle in 15 min walking distance. There are plenty of shopping streets nearby. You can find a convenient store just beside the hotel.
GGuest UserPerfect for a night or two next to the train station!
Everything is clean, they provide earplugs for the night but it's not even that noisy after a certain point. Capsules are rather big with everything one might desire (power plugs, TV, fan, adjustable light, locker)
I would book again!
Sswaco1Great hotel, nice facilities, specially the baths. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is also within walking distance from himeji station and close to a groceries. The only downside for me was that my room was on the 3rd floor close to the pedestrian crossing. No noise at night, but in the morning you will get the sound from the crossing giving green light to the pedestrian.
AAnonymous UserOverall it's pretty good, very convenient, very close to JR Himeji Station. There are Chinese-speaking staff at the front desk, which makes communication more convenient. It's very comfortable to soak in the hot springs, and there is also a microwave in the room, which is practical! However, the sound insulation of the hotel is really average, so friends who sleep lightly are better off bringing earplugs.
GGuest UserA decent hotel provides bath powder.
The structure of the room is square and the suitcases are stuck no matter where they are placed.
It is very convenient for visiting Himeji Castle. The shopping street next to it is directly connected to the station.
AAlashanmengIt's an 8-minute walk from the JR station. The proprietress is enthusiastic and has a good family atmosphere. It's surrounded by commercial streets. It's very close to Himeji Old Town and a 5-minute walk. It's suitable for solo travel.
LlarryszeIt was my first time to experience a hot spring hotel. Overall it was very comfortable. Although it is not a new modern hotel, it was a good feeling to experience Japanese culture. There were more Japanese people staying this time. Although we were tourists, the staff entertained us very warmly. Dinner and breakfast were very rich. Although the road is a bit far from the city center, it is still worthwhile to experience this hotel. The room is very large and the scenery is great. It's so spectacular. There are small bugs in the natural environment. It is recommended not to open the windows. Everything else is impeccable. The hotel's care products are also very complete and facial masks are provided. Overall, it is highly recommended.
GGuest UserGreat value hotel with breakfast and dinner included. Everything was clean and it‘s a 1 minute walk away from the train station. The Himeji castle is only a 1,6km walk away and you can easily get a bus to Mt Shosha from the train station bus stop. You can choose your dinner from two options and breakfast is buffet style.
The average price for hotels in Himeji is AED 522 on weekdays, and AED 576 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
