Not only the hotel, but the entire Ikaho service staff are mainly Japanese seniors. There is a built-in izakaya inside the hotel. There may be few people when I go there. Only my friend and I had dinner that night. I thought it was closed. When we saw we were about to eat, everyone opened the door for the two of us and managed it. The grandfather of the izakaya was very, very enthusiastic. Obviously we only ordered two bowls of ramen😂 They just sent two glasses of orange juice, two bowls of rice, and the sauce they made. They said they were delicious and must be tried. Taste it. Finally, when we left, we gave us two more glasses of wine for us to take back to our room and drink slowly 😂 The hotel also has a bathing area, and there are really very few people, which is equivalent to booking a place with my friends. The overall experience is still very good, I hope this store will get better and better🤣

I was able to spend a good time with the warm smile of the hotel 々. Kindayu, the best access to Ishidan-gai is to Itoen in Ikaho Onsen ... The view from the open-air bath is outstanding ♪ The open-air bath on the 1st floor cannot see the scenery, but it is wide and relaxing. There is no washing place here. I think it would be better if there was an indoor bath like a large communal bath, but it is difficult to add. It would be nice to have a bedrock bath. Also, the game corner is a little narrow just because it is in the aisle ... I think it would be nice to have a plaza where you can play with nostalgic toys. Finally, the smile of the young Nakai who guided me at the time of the buffet, and the arrival was late, so I'm glad I was in time for dinner 〜 and the front desk who responded with a smile at check-in. With its location along the famous stone stairs and its access to abundant ”golden hot spring water”, one can easily tell this is a long-established hotel in Ikaho. And this is the reason for my choosing to stay here since it is not easy to find onsen hotels that offer ”natural flowing water” nowadays (onsen water will be ”recycled” in many hotels). If one's purpose for coming to Ikaho is for their good water, Kishigo will be a good choice because they have three hot spring baths, and I particularly like the one detached from the main building, i.e. Open-Air Bath Gonzaemon no Yu. I got a Western style room with view of the stone stairs, nothing fancy, but I do not mind. As a solo traveller, I was not given the choice of dining at the hotel when making the booking. It worried me a bit at first since I always enjoy having traditional Japanese dinner in onsen hotels; and with this being my first visit to Ikaho, I did not even know if there is any restaurant in the area (shops in most onsen towns close at 5pm or earlier). It worked out all right in the end for there are restaurants, and I went to one that is just a minute's walk from the hotel. Dining out also meant I had more flexibility in spending time on a stroll around the area and relaxing in the hot springs.

I can see that it is a historical hotel. Because it is a Saturday relationship, the unit price I booked is a bit high, but compared to the hotel in Tokyo, I am relieved. This hot spring hotel is all-Japanese, breakfast and dinner are all, if you want to drink coffee, there is a vending machine, The room and the hot spring feel that there is a new finishing, only the hall has traces of history.

外観・内観共に歴史を感じられる。フロントスタッフの反応は良し。 客室露天風呂の部屋付きで宿泊。部屋は新しめで綺麗。 トイレも水回りもよかった。浴槽はないがシャワールームあり。 お着き菓子も3種ありなかなかである。 テレビは和室に一台、ベッドルームに一台。 客室露天風呂はまさに外から丸見えで気になる人は注意。 温度は手に付けた感じだと42～43度ほど。 温度調整はしてもらえるとgoogleの口コミに書いてあったため、 聞いてみたら41度までなら可能とのこと。 それ以下だとスタッフが来て直接ホースで加水しなければいけないらしい。 客室露天風呂とは思えないほど広めで大人3人ぐらい入れる。 温泉は上からチョロチョロだが、浴槽の横から熱い湯が出てくる。 温泉分析表はないので循環ありかどうかは不明。 ただお湯を嗅いでみるとかすかに硫黄臭が感じられる。 洗い場にあるような椅子もあるので、休憩ができて意外と使えた。 客室露天風呂だけで満足できたので、わざわざ遠い大浴場には行かなかった。 夕食朝食は伊東園なので省略。 客室露天風呂付き部屋だと伊東園ホテル価格ではなくなるが、 それでも価格を含めて満足度はやや高いと感じられる。 個人的には冬に行くのがいいかなと感じた。
