Located at the town of Shiraoi about one hour drive from New Chitose airport, it is not a very popular onsen area, but a small town by the sea. The hotel is nothing like a traditional onsen hotel but a modern building. The lady at the reception is at the door to help us with the luggage. We were seated at the reception to the check-in, treated with a cup of tea and snacks. There were only six rooms in the hotel, a lounge, a restaurant and a reservation-required onsen. The room was of decent size, with separate toilet and bathroom, a seating area, a massage lounger, and a mini HiFi with CD. The room has a classic western style feel. Very comfortable. The reservation onsen is nicely touched and one of the best of its kind I have ever visited. You can relax at the lounge after onsen and free drinks are provided. Dinner and breakfast are served in the only restaurant. The dinner is western style but of course with Japanese taste. After all, if you want to try a more western style onsen hotel, this is one to try, but the price tag is a bit higher than normal onsen hotel.
It is undeniably old, but there are 3 types of hot springs with different temperatures and open-air baths. It's a small size. The hottest bathtub was so hot that I was really numb and impressed. I can't meet that heat easily. There is a hot spring pool of 25m and a children's pool (a slide), so you can play all the time. It's a pool like black water, and the children's pool is a little warmer. Floating wheels can be brought in! It was in a chartered state. There was an intake, but I couldn't get the air well, so I would be grateful if you could put the attachment. It was just raining, so I was playing for about 2 hours. I enjoyed it very much with my children! Since it is connected to the bathhouse, you will pass through the bathhouse in your swimsuit and enter the pool. Rice is in the dining room for dinner and breakfast. There are quite a lot of side dishes! It was delicious! I'm glad I made a plan with meals. I ordered alcohol with the ticket I got for Dominwari. In the pool, I was able to enjoy it by relaxing and soaking in the hot springs. There is only one bath towel per person, so you should bring a few. There were two sets of washing machines and dryers in the corridor. It has a small Showa atmosphere that is not found in a gorgeous and huge hotel like Noboribetsu Onsen. The mysterious exercise equipment in the rest area was also good. It was connected to 7-Eleven, so I was grateful when it rained. There are Ayoro Onsen and other hot springs on the back, so it seems good to go around the hot springs.
There is a cafe and a select shop, and the atmosphere is very nice. All craft beer is delicious and the snacks are reasonable, but I'm glad that the amount is solid. The toilet and shower were necessary and sufficient, but the only thing I was worried about was the sound. It was a private room on the first floor, but of course the voice of the next room, the sound of climbing the stairs and the laughter of the drunken man who came back at midnight woke up many times in the middle of the night. It is better to have earplugs except for those who can sleep in any noisy place. I should have bought it because it was sold at the check-in counter. It was a perfect inn, including the price except for the sound. The private room is also cute and suitable for women.
The average price for hotels in Shiraoi is AED 836 on weekdays, and AED 870 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
