Beautiful location along the Kumano Koda trail. Excellent food and beautiful onsen on site. It is isolated (which is part of the charm) so be prepared to walk to town or take the bus if you want go to a market or lunch spot.

Excellent location, just around 3 minutes walk from Nara kotsu totsukawa onsen bus stop. Service and food are excellent, as with my limited Japanese, they can still show me around with the amenities. The place is clean, it’s just that it’s a minshuku, some amenities need to share, like toilet and washing basin. They have very good onsen, really can relief the fatigue end of day. Overall good

1. Japanese-style rooms are spacious and elegant. The mattress is thick enough so it doesn't feel like sleeping on the floor. The quilt is also very soft and comfortable.
2. There are mountains and rivers outside the window, and the scenery is pleasant. This river should be the Totsu River, but there are actually hot springs underneath.
3. Both dinner and breakfast were rich and delicious. The grandpa also explained each dish to us.
4. We went there at the end of December and it was very cold in the mountains. Although it looks like a Japanese-style window made of paper, the room is very warm.
5. There is an outdoor bath, so beautiful. You must take a bath outdoors~

I chose this place on the way to Ise Road. The traffic is a bit inconvenient. Xiaoyun takes the fork road and needs to take a taxi to the rest station. Or make an appointment with the hotel in advance. There is a shuttle service to the Xingong. The room is good. It has its own restaurant. You can eat delicious food without ordering. We booked single tatami mats and were very clean. The Japanese-style open-air hot springs at the hotel are also beautiful, small but full. I like it very much, it is perfect as a resting place for a day of hiking.
