The hotel is located next to a rice field, and it is very leisurely to eat breakfast just facing the pastoral scenery.
The room decoration and facilities are relatively simple, but with ironing board and iron, the basic functions are available. There are fewer surrounding facilities and it is inconvenient to buy things. If it is a family trip, it may need a more convenient place to live.
The hotel is in a good environment, facing the Great Lakes. There are unwashed small stains on the sheets. At night, I went to the hotel to recommend the boat trip to the lake to watch the birds and watch the sunset. It is a very rare experience. When I came back, it was already dark. The moon in the sky, the light of the hotel on the shore, and the chanting of the monks. . . The whole process of paddling by two young people is very hard and environmentally friendly. The next day, there was some unpleasantness at the checkout. The dinner expenses that had been paid by my husband were in the blink of an eye and the same fee-paying waiter planned to take the payment of my friend. . .
Another guest was checking out on our first morning at Seyara. She took us aside and said: ”you're in for a real treat here, these people will take amazing care of you.” The Australian lady wasn't wrong. Upali and his team were the most thoughtful hosts we came across in a country full of thoughtful and caring hospitality. The assistance they offered with seeing the sites was exactly that - helping us have a great time without a hint of upselling. We did spend a day with Upali's friend Sugash and his tuk-tuk and couldn't have been in better hands. Seyara's cooking staff are also wonderful. While a western breakfast was available, they also offered us a slightly different Sri Lankan breakfast each day of our stay (hoppers with a curry, plus halape/halapa, vadai etc) - it was delicious every time and something we found a bit hard to find at other hotels. Our room was comfortable and clean (and included a mosquito net but no products other than soap). All up, this hotel is incredible value. *We were also lucky enough to see Malabar pied hornbills sitting on the trees besides the pool - I thought they were toucans, but have now learned I was wrong.

After visiting the ancient city, I checked in to the hotel. It is very close to the scenic area, and it is only a 10-minute walk. 570 / night, outdated facilities, rooms are relatively tide, the price difference between the previous night and the Candara Heritage Hotel is only one hundred, but it can not be compared, the cost performance is extremely low, it is not recommended to stay at all. The hotel is built next to a lake. This lake is said to be the largest lake in Sri Lanka. Before booking, I saw some wild elephants drinking water in the morning near the hotel lake, so I booked it without hesitation. I had imagined sitting on the balcony overlooking the lake and eating the noodles of the motherland, but I opened the balcony door and found that I could not see the lake at all, and was covered by the canopy. I ran to the lake in the evening to wait for the elephant to drink water. , The elephant did not come.

The Palace Complex of King Parakramabahu
渭渭南松赞干布The Royal Palace is located in the center of the ancient city of Polonnaruwa and is the residence of King Polonnaruwa I. The palace is 31 meters long and 13 meters wide, built on a raised base. According to historical records, the palace was seven stories high, and the four floors above were wooden structures. Later, it was burned down by fire, leaving only the three-story brick structure at the bottom. The brick wall at the bottom is very thick and has many openings on it, which does not look like windows. This palace is relatively well preserved among the palaces in the ancient city. On its east side are the Royal Baths and the King's Council Hall.

Among them, Vatadage, really amazing, is actually an ancient building complex, of which Vatadage (ring stone house, also known as quadrangle courtyard or round Buddha house), the sculpting of the stalwart and the moonstone are very exquisite, the moonstone here is different from Anuradhapura, where different animals cross in the same circle, This is a circle of animals, and we laymen can only see these shallow differences. The guardstone is separated on both sides of the steps to defend the Buddha statue.
