Best Sigiriya Hotels

The hotel is very close to Lion Rock. You can see Lion Rock from the swimming pool, and the entire hotel is spread among towering woods with towering ancient trees. The environment is comfortable. There is a pool outside the door of each room, which is also a feature, but there are mosquitoes🦟. The food in the hotel is, well, edible. If possible, it is recommended to eat at the restaurant street 500 meters away. There are many excellent choices. Service, if the tip is big enough. Here, the front desk staff is very aggressive in not giving change. Although this number is not a big deal for tourists, I feel very different when I tip and when my change is deducted. Maybe because skin color is less popular. Because this is a Western world? have no idea.

The Sigiriya Hotel at the foot of Lion Rock is the biggest surprise of this trip. The price of less than 600 is very cost-effective. First of all, the service. One of the best hotels I lived in Sri Lanka, running by a local family. They are very nice and hospitable and even provided very delicious local breakfast with wild honey and welcome coconut water. The room was a quite big with high ceiling, clean and all the stuffs were available. The hotel is in the closest location to climb the rock mountain called Pidurangala to view panorama view of Sigiri and sunrise and sunset and very close to Sigiri Lion Rock as well. The hotel can provide car and jeep services. Jeep safari to see a herd and other wild animals were quite an experience to feel the wilderness and nature. This hotel is 100% recommended when you are in Sigiriya. If you need a car service for city to city travel, here is the service provider, called Danu and his contact number is (0774) 642 805. He is a nice and humble guy with certified local guide. We got his service from Sigiriya to Kandy to Yalla to Colombo, the trip went very smooth and we are happy that we covered all the attractions places with his assistance. Highly recommended!!

The hotel is in a forest, composed of beautiful two-story buildings of 6-7, each with 4 rooms. The hotel has a large yard, large lawn and swimming pool are very beautiful. The room facilities are quite satisfactory and there is no special place. The service is very good, warm and thoughtful, and the welcome drink is delicious. Breakfast is not a buffet, the variety is relatively simple, there are toast, eggs, fruit platters, juice and milk. The room is not soundproofed. If the two adjacent rooms are strangers, they may affect each other. There are many monkeys on the tree in the yard. The monkeys will play on the roof and make a lot of noise. This is an advantage or a disadvantage. Everyone has different evaluations. In short, it is a good hotel, whether it is an excessive or a leisure holiday, it is a good choice.

A health resort, not suitable for short-term stays for tourists. The three meals a day are extremely simple, with almost no meat or eggs. If the hotel booking by Ctrip hadn't been messed up, I wouldn't have moved here temporarily.

The staff were superb! They couldn't do enough to make our stay a memorable one. The room was clean with plenty of space. Air conditioned and comfortable beds. Breakfast was really good: fruit, roti, coconut pancakes, eggs how you want them, fruit juice, other bits too. Our table was hardly big enough to hold it all. An excellent location to visit Lion Rock and several restaurants and bars within walking distance serving local and western options.

As the name suggests, it is a retreat in the jungle. There are no windows, and the trees are the natural windows. You can meet squirrels and monkeys, and you are surrounded by the sounds of many birds and insects in the morning and at night. The hotel offers a variety of activities, which can be booked. The beginning of April, when we stayed, was firefly season, and when it rained in the evening, more than a dozen fireflies surrounded our mosquito net.

Just a short walk from the bus stop, this gem of a guesthouse is hands down the best place to stay in Sri Lanka. The owner goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, always offering help and thoughtful advice. He even arranged for a local tuk-tuk driver at a very reasonable price, ensuring I had the best experience exploring the area. Every afternoon, he would check in and offer a delightful cup of tea, making the stay feel extra special. His wife’s cooking is an absolute highlight—breakfast was not just delicious but prepared with so much care, adding a homely touch to every meal. The room itself was super clean, big, and incredibly comfortable. From start to finish, they both made me feel completely at home. I can say this was the best accommodation I experienced during my time in Sri Lanka, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable and comfortable stay.
