It is a hotel that you will not regret staying at. The room was large and relaxing. The staff were well educated and polite. The hotel is for sightseeing.

Stayed in a deluxe room with balcony for 4 nights for ~USD140/night. LOCATION I came to the Maldives for manta rays and for this purpose Dharavandhoo is perfect, only takes about 15 minutes by boat to get to where the mantas congregate. As for location of the hotel, Dharavandhoo is a small island so location doesn’t matter much. ARRIVAL Hotel will send a golf buggy to pick up guests from the airport. If there are a few guests arriving at the same time, check-in will take a little while but no problem since not in a hurry. ROOM Room is decent size, everything clean, aircon is strong which is important given the hot and humid weather. Bedding is reasonably comfortable. TV signal didn’t work when I arrived but they got someone to come fix it a few hours later, it was ok for rest of the stay. Wifi stable and fast enough for streaming and also uploading all my mobile pics and videos onto cloud. FOOD Breakfast is good, eggs cooked to order, love the hash brown. I had a few lunches and dinners, have to say the food was pretty disappointing overall. Chicken satay was so dry that even having it with the sauce didn’t help much, the fish was bland with not enough sauce, then the broccoli and beef was way too salty. Tuna sandwich and the pizza were decent. Most meals were around USD20 including 26% tax. I was expecting quite a few seafood main courses on the menu and was quite surprised at the lack of it. A la carte can take quite a while but you can order in advance. EXCURSIONS I did 4 manta ray excursions with the hotel during my stay, each manta swim is USD60 (no tax). You basically wait for the reception to call then head down to the lobby and rest is taken care of. You can borrow snorkel set and life jacket for no additional charges. On the first 2 excursions, there weren’t that many manta but the experience was lovely as there weren’t that many other people in the water. On the day where there were a lot of manta (I counted 50 manta within 50 seconds in one of my videos!), it was an absolute mayhem as there were a lot of people and a lot were kicking and you could barely move around, not Kiha Beach’s fault but just so others are aware. Still worth it though for that spectacular sight. Everyone is only allowed 45 minutes in water, the guide will keep track of time and remind you when it’s time to get back to the boat. They have different size boats depending on how many guests from the hotel are doing this, they were all easy to get back on. One thing I wasn’t aware or beforehand was there’s some sort of system for Hanifaru Bay where priority is given to local islands and resort islands on different days. So if you really want to see the manta madness. it’s best to stay a few days and do as many excursions as possible to increase your chances. From June 27 to July 12… our first stay here and we are already thinking of booking again for February 2025 as we had such a perfect stay. The hotel very kindly arranged our internal flights from Male to Dharavandoo which we paid for about a week before our arrival. This is very useful because booking directly with Manta Air or one of the other operators costs significantly more. Once we arrived, a hotel staff member was at the local airport to greet us and take us on a short (five-minute) ride to the hotel by golf cart with our luggage. There are around 12 rooms which are all lovely - the beach rooms are a little simpler (but still perfectly acceptable), the luxury rooms are ideal and very well furnished. We had a beach room and our daughters the Deluxe room. Both had excellent air conditioning for very humid nights. The staff could not be faulted, as it is a small hotel, everyone was recognizable and extremely helpful in every sense of the word. The food was excellent, fish, pasta, chicken and much more. As there are only a limited number of people, the food is served directly or as a small buffet and was always hot as it was not left standing for hours as is often found. Prices were very reasonable if you ordered additional meals which were not part of your package and tea and coffee were free and soft drinks very reasonable. The dining and reception areas are perfectly clean and tidy. The bikini beach is about 20 meters from the rooms where there are sun loungers and towels or yoga mats are free from the hotel. In the garden you will find seating and tables for outside dining if you wish. Just ask and a table will be set for you and food will be brought to your table (no charge for eating out). There were rarely more than 10 people using the beach and deck chairs when we were there, so we had a lot of the beach to ourselves most of the time. The lagoon near the beach is shallow and suitable for children taking their first steps in snorkeling. Those with a little more experience can head to the reef just beyond the lagoon and see a much greater variety of fish and maybe even a passing turtle if you're lucky. If you don't have any equipment, just talk to the hotel. The LVIS Blancura is about a 4-5-minute walk along the beach to the harbor and the town itself, where you'll find a variety of shops from gift shops to a well-stocked supermarket and a pharmacy if you need one. you need. The rooms are comfy and spacious in both beach bungalows and water villas. The beach is just perfect and the snorcheling in the ocean is great fun. Loving every day of my stay here!
