Clean. Price that is affordable to me as a retiree. Surprise me to find lift in a 3 storey hotel. Cctv and internet give feel of security and convenience. Staff friendly and helpful. Many restaurants within walking distance of 5 to 10 minutes. Malay food, mamak good, Chinese, western food, Japanese food are there to visitors to choose. Grab car easily available.

My first impression when entered the lobby, it was simple but nice. They have classic lift which new experient to me๐. Room was spacious worth it. Got window. All like new as u can see in picture. No kettle in room but got 2 mineral water. They provide hot/cold filtered water dispenser outside the room. Got fridge in room also hairdryer in bathroom. Bathroom size also big for this kind of hotel. Tv was big and the channel was clear enough compare to other hotel which i use to stay around here. Parking need to pay. Overall is a worth night to stay. Recommended.

Nice hotel to stay. Friendly and helpful staffs. The room amenities are good. Spacious room and bed is comfortable. Thereโs convenient stores, pharmacies, various fast food restaurants, petrol stations, Chinese restaurant and dimsum shop around the hotel. Also, thereโs a lot of parking lots available. About 10 mins drive to Auto City. Worth the penny.

Sunway hotel always be my first choice, staff are polite, helpful, even the security are friendly and helpful, they reserve parking lots for regular guest and is free of charge. Shopping mall is just 200m away, with many foods and fashion outlets, walking distance from the hotel have many restaurants and cafe for food and some even open 24 hours. Hotel rooms are well maintain and bottle water are supply unlimited to room. Coffee house in the hotel ground floor also provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overall very satisfied with my stay.

I booked The Light after hearing the reviews from my colleagues but the service was quite a let down. I booked a deluxe king room but they gave me a double twin room and told me it was subjected to availability?
They changed the room for me at last and the room was clean and the breakfast was very nice!
*Gym closes at 10pm, swimming pool closes at 7pm

First time lodged in the hotel. Surprised that the room is not small compared to other budget hotel at the similar price. Room was big, clean and staff was friendly. Aircond is of bigger size and works perfectly for me. Excellence budget hotel for business travellers that aim for clean, cheap, friendly and nice location!

It is a 20-minute walk from Bukit Mertajam train station. The apartment suite is very clean. You can join WeChat and get a password to enter. WeChat replies very quickly. It's a 15-minute walk from Bo Kung Temple + market, convenient for eating, and SKF is next door.

Excellent
- Price (3.5/5): Value for money and worth it for couples, a bit pricey for a solo traveller. - Room (4.5/5): Comfortable bed, quiet, I slept and rested really well, lovely view, table, chair, good air conditioning, (there was a red floor stain under the chair which irked me a bit, so i covered it with a towel). Otherwise the room was well renovated. Many lights from bright to dim. The whole place is uniquely designed. - Shower (4.5/5): Clean, good pressure, hot water, comfortable. Shower was leaking a bit even after turning it off. - Wifi (3/5): Good on check in, didn't work the next morning. -Location (3.5/5): 7-15 min drive from St Anne Minor Basilica and Bukit Mertajam Park depending on traffic. You will need a car to move around. Not walkable to old town or new town/nearest cinema (Get a Grab if you are car-less). - Free car park (should be sufficient - at least 8 available in front of the hotel and many more near the restaurant opposite). - The small two way road this hotel is along is always jammed , even after peak hours as it links to Kulim or another town I believe (correct me if I'm wrong), so it was a little annoying to cross the road as drivers don't really give way.

JJohn. TGood side:
1) Strategic location for food and meeting customers near Bukit Mertajam.
2) Price lower than Citadines (same building)
3) Got washing machine.
Neutral side: Self check in
Bad side:
1) Found fire ants (got bitten and caused bad inflammation) every days.
2) Reported the fire ants but nothing was don't for 2 days (stayed 5D4N) till I ask for solution.
3) Service is bad, didn't even apologise after I tell them the problem and also reminded them that they didn't 'courtesily apologise'.
4) The gym is just an old gym rack which is spoilt and few treadmill.
Conclusion, won't go again unless they change their behaviour.

CchewkimsoonI stayed for 2 nights in Feb20 as I needed to attend a wake/funeral nearby. So my needs were rather basic - a clean bed (checked), clean shower (checked) and security (security). Located in a rather new development, it is a nice cosy hotel with 3 floors. The building was built for commercial purposes - like eateries, pubs, offices, and there were plenty of these nearby. The carpark is in the middle of the stretch of road between the 2 banks of buildings and it fills up very quickly. The things that I found lacking were: (1) only 1 power point in the whole room. Luckily, I brought a multi-plug charger. Clearly inadequate for modern lifestyle where you have more electrical appliances, like laptops, hair dryers. (2) No kettle or fridge (at least in Room 208). I can accept the lack of a fridge but no kettle to boil water was a surprise. Coupled with the fact there is only one convenience shop in the whole vicinity (and note it is not 24 hours), it is a major letdown. (3) The hot water in the bath takes too long to warm up, like after 5 minutes of water flowing (such a waste). In the long run, the high water wastage will add up. (4) the carpets in the corridors were stained and needed cleaning. It is a new hotel and the corridors is the first impression to all visitors. Overall, my needs for this trip were basic as I was hardly in the room, except to sleep and bathe, but the hotel can do better.
