Located a short walk from the bus terminal as shown on Google Maps. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the Harbour Center. Very convenient. The reception lady was friendly and helpful. I stayed in a standard single as I was only transitting. The room was small, basic and clean. Small desk and chair. Some hanging space but no shelving to lay clothes. The aircon and tv worked fine. Lighting was good. The bed had clean linens and provided a good sleep. The bathroom was a small wetroom. The shower had hot water and good pressure. Walking distance to 7-11, KFC and other shops. Excellent all round value for an overnight stay.

Its an old hotel with sufficient necessities if u need to spend a night or two.The location is good next to the beach n opposite Hospital Mersing in case u need to pay a visit..But sad enough theres negligence in the basic aspects of cleanliness.Something has to be done to this hotel.. at least spruce it up wt new coating of paint.Mouldy & old stains here and there..Toilets not so clean.Im sure if some money is thrown into this hotel it will definitely lives up to its name by being berβSeriβ again n collect much revenue since the capacity is full during my stay there since tourists dont hv much choice..Price of rooms okey .The picture is the beach behind the hotel during low tide ππΌππΌ

I booked this hotel through Booking.com and for some reason they have disallowed reviews on the site - likely due to their poor facilities and fear of (deserved) bad reviews. The only reason they get two stars instead of one is because we were able to sleep in the beds, as they were passable. However, the shower stank and was so gross we did not use it even after a long travel day - it smelled of mould and fungus. Service is poor, you are left standing in front of reception for many minutes despite being the only people there before anyone acknowledges your presence or helps you out at all. The town of Mersing is also pretty lack lustre and the only reason to go here is to get to Tioman Island, but if you can avoid staying overnight I would do so as Mersing has bad; over priced food and a rubbish filled, dying ocean.

The hotel is modest, good for the money. Shower, water, air conditioning. iron on the floor. 20 minutes to the pier with a backpack. Also to the bus station. The staff is very friendly. They left our luggage for a couple of hours after check-out while we waited for the ferry. For my purposes - to wash myself, to spend the night, itβs very good. The city is very cozy, we walked around with pleasure. I recommend the hotel. Bus to Kuala Lumpur 43 ringit, ferry to Tioman 60 ringit one way. Plus tax 30.

I'd say Merlin Inn brings for me nostalgia of a building that stood still since the 70s. It has a rustic charm to it. The property sits on a quiet hill side, about 800m away from the sea. It is separated by the main road. Room is basic in a good way. It is well maintained, and clean. AC is working perfectly well. Bath Room is cleaned and good. There's no food or a cafe in this facility. So you need to either pack your own snacks. But that's not a deal breaker. Within a short 10 minute drive, there are food, eateries at the roundabout after the arching bridge.

The view is very beautiful. A large area where you can do activities with the family, you can swim in the swimming pool and the sea. It's an old resort so you can't expect more. Cleanliness is ok. Friendly staff. Towels are not provided. Had to ask to get it. In the room there is a water heater and mini fridge. Shampoo & shower bath are also available. Free breakfast (8.30am-10am). Overall ok but not recommended for fussy people.

This resort does not deserve to be called a resort. Everything is poor. From the room itself,broken walls,broken ceilings,a/c not working,very poor amenities,cups and glasses given seems to me they have never washed. Overly priced for a lousy resort.Highly not recommended. Better go to a budget hotel which is new and much more cheaper.
