4.6/5
Outstanding
They have the best guest service. Resort is easily accessible with their boat transfer. enjoyed swimming in both pools located at the Shoreline and Morning Catch restaurants. We just have a few comments on the food at the Shoreline. Nothing special considering it’s a five star resort. Expected too much, we ordered Pork Liempo and Shrimp Sinigang on our 1st day, then ordered chicken wings with cheese (literally covered with cheese powder) so my tastebuds were already messed up by the time I’ve eaten 4 chicken wings 🤣. We also ordered Linguine Scampi, again nothing spectacular. Please improve food from The Shoreline. However, breakfast was scrumptious and was worth it to wake up early for it. We also ordered room service from Morning Catch, we enjoyed the Seafood Laksa and Bun Thit. But we definitely appreciate the effort in preparing a birthday treat from our room to the sweet cake served at the resto. Thank you Discovery! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back soon and hope to stay in the villa next time!
GGuest UserThe initial welcome was very good for a hotel of this kind. The room was okay although a coat of paint would make it more pleasing than scuff marks everywhere. The lighting was stark - recessed bright bulbs do not give the right ambiance when no dimming. There is a lack of reading lamps above the bed (yes people do still read). The aircon unit was very noisy at night - this appears to be dependant on the make. Although we were out for a whole day on our return the room had not been made up and tea/coffee went un- replenished. Given the market this hotel is aiming for this was a huge disappointment. The in house meals weee good but there is a lack of consistency with staff service which could be improved.
GgatesofmechanismI am a hotel guy, hands down but when I found out that I could get my own room, I took a chance and went for it and I am SUPER HAPPY that I did. I normally stay at beach front resorts until a high maintenance friend suggested I give this hostel a shot. In my head, if my diva friend enjoyed this facility, then I could enjoy it too 😆. The place is NOT a beach front resort so you need to know that if you are only a beach front person. If you don’t have a car, there are “tricycles” that can you to the beach front for a super low cost. Drivers and locals are mega friendly and trustworthy. There’s a dog here named Yukie who’d even come with you if you like ❤️❤️. Anyway, the hostel is pretty rad. My room had air conditioning, a very comfortable bed and hot shower. NO television & wifi because the hostel encourages you to disconnect. If you want wifi, like me right now as I’m making this very review, you’d need to walk to the common area where you can eat your self service breakfast. They served me corn coffee which is pretty awesome. Then a continental breakfast as well. This common area has a television too so if you want to watch the news, you go right ahead. When I woke up this morning, there were many exotic birds chirping their little hearts away. So freaking cute. I checked out all the rooms so I can give my friends an accurate description. There are rooms with 4 single beds. Rooms with bunk beds with their own reading lights and 2 bathrooms in each shared rooms. The deluxe room is pretty awesome too. The art works are beautiful. Although the place advertises itself as a hostel, I am able to say that it’s a hybrid of a hotel and a hostel. I’ve seen hostels in Vancouver that made me want to barf. This hostel has gotten me SUPER IMPRESSED. Really clean. Really well maintained. Staff is awesome and initiative. I am very very impressed and I plan to bring my family and friends the next time I come back.
NnlibunesMy GF and I were from Davao and went to Hijo via bus then habal-habal. 1st stop we registered in their tourism office then proceeded to the beach front where the rooms/casitas and the restaurant are located. We arrived 3:15pm to find out that the room is still not ready. So the guy took our orders for dinner in advance to kill waiting time. I asked it to be served 7pm on the table we were occupying. Then he told me he doesnt recommend that because there's too many mosquitoes at night. Well i thought yeah what a nice welcoming remark to your resort! But I thanked the guy for his astounding honesty. The place indeed is mosquito infested. You cant barely open the door of the room because of mosquitoes going inside! The pool is nice on the picture but it is poorly maintained. We utilized it around 730am, there's too many suspended leaf parts. After swimming we preferred to order individual meals rather than getting buffet. The buffet was not really impressive and I didnt want to pay good money for bad stuff. After the meal we checked out. But despite all those comments Im gonna rate our stay 4/5 because the place is solemnly peaceful. The view from the pool is exceptional. U get a view of the pool then around its opposite corner a shaded green space under the growing tree, and beyond that is the sea with the silhouette of the blue mountains at the farthest end. My girlfriend enjoyed the stay and that's what was most important to me
Awesome place. Wonderful food, clean quiet and friendly. If you don't love the Philippines go to Hof and let Kristine look after you- she is a beautiful friendly lovely woman. I read reviews on Hof before I booked and I can't understand why people complain about trivial stuff. The whole experience there was excellent-only downside is that it 's a bit of a trek to get to.
YYONGDUIt is the newest building in the hotel in Tagum City, and is located close to the downtown area, making it easily accessible.
A simple breakfast is provided for breakfast, and there are various restaurants around the hotel.
GGuest UserHotel is easy to locate. It is nearby restos and mall. Staffs are very accommodating and respectful. You will be welcome with the sweet smiles of the staff. Rooms and toilets are clean. There is complementary breakfast. There is gym, pool, karaoke, and spa.
