4.3/5
Excellent
GGuest UserMy wife and I visited Columbia for the first time recently to visit our son at Mizzou. We wanted something relatively close to the university. After checking lots of reviews, we settled on the Country Inn & Suites. We’ve had previous experiences with this brand before, and were very pleased with this one as well. What stood out- the location. It’s right off of the interstate which is very convenient, and it’s also about a ten minute drive to the university. Hop on the interstate and you're about 2 hours to St. Louis or 2 hours to Kansas City. You do get a little traffic noise from the interstate, but not enough to disrupt our sleep. As you turn in from the front, the hotel is located behind a Drury Inn so don’t let that confuse you. There’s a TGIFriday’s within a short walk as well. Cleanliness- Our room was very well kept, and the staff did an excellent job of cleaning both days. Security- Rooms use a key card to enter. The surrounding area seemed safe, and the parking lots were well lit. We stayed in a king studio suite, which was very spacious. I was so glad that we chose this option. Breakfast was good both days- biscuits and gravy, 2 waffle makers, 4 cereal options, yogurt, muffins, toast, bagels. Quite a few things from which to choose. All in all, we were thoroughly pleased with this stay. We will certainly stay here again the next time that we visit Columbia.
We stayed here one night and it's okay. First, it was clean. That's always the most important thing to me. The beds were pretty comfortable. The suite had enough room for us to spread out. We even got food from the Mexican place next door and had plenty of space and table area to eat in the room. We were exhausted from the drive and just didn't feel like eating at the actual restaurant. The three things that knocked the rating the most were the window, the desk partition, and the bathroom door. The desk partition was loose, I suppose so someone had shoved a piece of cardboard in the track to keep it from moving. However, it just rattled every time someone walked past it. So that was a little annoying, but nothing major. The next thing is the bathroom door. There is nothing physically wrong with it, but the design isn't great. It is frosted glass which looks fantastic. However, when you are up early for showers and everyone else is sleeping, it does nothing to block the light. Unfortunately, it is right across from the beds so once one of us was up, the rest of us in the beds were up. Our son stayed happily asleep on the pull out couch. Again, structurally, the door worked fine and it was aesthetically nice, but not a great choice. The worst thing was the window. It wasn't latched all the way and the locking mechanism was bent so there was no way for it to be latched all the way. So it was letting in cold air and noise from sirens going by all night, which wasn't pleasant. We did tell the desk representative when we checked out, just in case they didn't know about the above. Make sure to check for the sheet for the pull out if you are going to use it and check the number of towels because we didn't have the sheet or enough towels for 4 people. We just went to the desk and they got them for us, but just a heads up. I probably would give this 3.5 stars if I could do halfs on here, but I can't.
MMCLUCKIEPretty uneventful stay. Nothing outstanding, but the room was huge and the gym was decent (tv didn't work though— or maybe the just the remote). Breakfast very typical of this type— not much to eat for those on healthier regimes. I had eggs— that's it. A tour bus had stayed there and the food was often cleaned out quickly. Timing was everything, but the staff did all they could. This is my second review of this hotel. There was a funky smell in the room when the freezing AC was turned down. Once I was in bed I figured it out. It was dog, wet dog cologne. Just as bad as a smoking room. In the morning, picking up my shoes, there was dog hair all intertwined in the carpet. Smell confirmed. Upon my first review, I got an email from BW stating their generic concern at my review without stating my specific, but please stay with them again. I stay in hotels right now about ⅓-½ the year and BW has been a staple. This doesn't change my option that the chain is a decent value, but its disappointing that they couldn't even respond more specifically, not that I expected a response, but please don't pretend they care.
MMike CI have been registered here at the Keen St Staybridge Suite since December 12th, 2023. My stay will take me through March 15th, 2024. I have enjoyed the hot breakfast meals offered every day, as well as the social meals from Monday through Wednesday evenings. It has been and continues to be pleasant to enter act with the Staybridge Suite personnel. They seem to go out of their way to do whatever necessary to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I would say without a doubt, I have witnessed first-hand how the Team goes to great lengths to assist me with any and all my needs with regard to my experience while here. This is why I feel compelled to add light to what I experienced by another guest just this morning. This guest is also a loner term guest, and over the weeks I have come to classify this particular guest as nothing more than a user and natural complainer. This morning for instance I overheard her complaining the Rasin bread was too stale and that someone should be reprimanded for allowing stale bread to be left out for guests. I also noted that she had her dish piled high and enjoying exactly what she was complaining about. I have also noticed the efforts expelled by this Hotel's staff to make the presentation of the offered meals as enticing as possible. While the guest who was complaining to the Hotel manager, the manager walked over and removed the so-called stale bread from the bread box and drop it into the trash can. To be sure, there was absolutely nothing wrong that bread as I had a piece of it on my plate, and I ate it right down. I highly suggest that should a traveler find the need for a GREAT HOTEL to stay at, their first choice should definitely be the STAYBRIGE SUITE HOTEL located just off Keene St, in Columbia, Mo. It would be to their benefit to experience the finest service I have had the pleasure to experience, from the clean rooms, full Gym, swimming pool right through housekeeping and dedicated cleaning staff and many amenities the facility has to offer. Should someone find the need of a great hotel experience in the Columbia, Mo. area, I highly recommend they consider the Staybridge Suite just off Keens St.
I booked this room for a getaway with my boyfriend Feb 17-18. Was excited about the whirlpool suite. Walked in, there was hair in the bathroom & in the microwave. The whirlpool looked a bit unappealing but was happy to use after cleaning it (and happy it was actually the room we booked online). We asked front desk for cleaning supplies (understood they wouldn’t give us any) & ended up going to the gas station for lysol spray. After mentioning the things in the room, the front desk staff (FERNANDO + other) offered to switch us to a different room. We went to check it out (room 204) & the whirlpool looked a bit dirty so we elected to keep the room we originally had. Aside from that ordeal, the front desk said our fire alarm went off, but we were watching Netflix & relaxing while the front desk staff then Fire Department knocked on our door. We offered for them to come in & both elected not to. We then went downstairs & told the front desk staff (around 1-2am) that we weren’t smoking. FERNANDO told us that we absolutely were smoking (that’s the only way the alarm would go off) & that he would charge my card & that he could kick us out. He was very rude to us & visibly flustered. Not an ounce of customer service. Was angry with us from the moment he saw us. He stated if housekeeping found anything, he would charge the card (illegally) - WHICH HE DID, keep reading. We went upstairs to try to enjoy the rest of our night but it was already completely ruined. The next morning I heard the alarm (the one in the hall that alerts the front desk what room it is). About 30 minutes after, maintenance calls our room. They told us the alarm alerted them (once again) that it was our room. I told them to come in & left the door cracked until they arrived. They both verified it was no smoking-tall Black (male maintenance guy + white housekeeper) we were sleeping anyways. We then hurried to gather our things so we could leave. At checkout, we notified day staff of our problems, who verified “Hector” (a part of night staff) does not have great customer service. They apologized, however FERNANDO went ahead & put that smoking fee charge on my card before we even checked out for the morning (ILLEGALLY)! The manager (white blonde lady) + front staff (Scott I believe) took the charge or charges off. Had I not mentioned it, the charge or charges would’ve still been on my card (illegally). I was very let down by that. This is completely unacceptable all around & not once were we rude, even made sure the room was cleaned to avoid further malicious (illegal) charges. We did not get offered any type of compensation, only apologies. Room 303 is where we stayed. We truly did go there just to have a good get away in Columbia. I’m 26 & travel all the time, as well as have manners + respect for spaces especially ones I spend money to rent. My boyfriend is 30. I'm not sure if staff thought we were kids, incompetent or what.
We went for dinner the first night and received excellent service. Diana heard my husband and me saying we should have added fries. She said she’d let the kitchen know for us. The next morning, I received a delicious breakfast and fast service from the staff. Everyone was very polite and friendly.
MMCLUCKIEGreat central location, but very difficult to get to the motel from nearby roads. I went around the block quite a few times to find the entrance, each day! There is a deep pot hole spanning the entire width of the pavement to avoid every time.
Room was big and clean. Breakfast is typical mid-American junk fare— cold cereals, bagels, bisquits and gravy. Sometimes it’s cheaper to get book with breakfast and just skip it. There are restaurants nearby.
It’s a fine place, especially for the cost. Nothing embarrassing or foul here. Desk staff was friendly.
RRightRoundI was nervous at first, but man, these people were nice. It was well cleaned. Outdated, but clean. I had the K Ste and it was very spacious with plent of seating and a table for a small group of travelers. My favorite thing about this motel was the water pressure!! There’s nothing more important than water pressure! :) Best on-the-road shower I have ever had. So this place gets 5 stars from me because they maintain a safe and clean environment for travelers. What more are we really asking for!? ;)
GGuest UserOverall it was a good place to stay with the amenities of the kitchen and two full size beds. But I chose a non smoking room. Which really didnt matter cause someone down the hall was smoking ****. which made the hole place smell horrible and was hard to stay in the room.
胡胡Traveling with friends, I helped my friends book a single room for two nights. The front desk staff of the hotel are enthusiastic and the rooms are clean and hygienic. The hotel is very close to schools and highways, making it easy to travel.
