I have been staying a few times a year at the Westin Edina since it opened. The best thing about the hotel is the location and its convenience. However, it has steadily declined over the years while the prices have skyrocketed -- mainly since Marriott purchased Starwood. The property is showing its age. My recent stay included stained sheets and moldy shower which I feel is unacceptable for a $300+ night hotel. Also, the front desk staff are unhelpful and unwelcoming and have no appreciation for loyal customers. If you're a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite member, don't expect to get the benefits you've worked so hard to earn and have come to expect from Marriott properties --this hotel doesn't value your loyalty. One bright spot are the gentlemen at the front entrance/valet -- they are ALWAYS the friendliest people in the hotel and always willing to help. This hotel was once a fabulous property all around but I think it's gone to their heads. The prices, attitude and flippant attitude towards customers, especially loyal customers, make it hard to continue to spend my money here.
A “distinctive” lodging options with some downsides. The rooms are spacious and quiet. What they don’t tell you until you book the room: Parking is off-site and a block or more away. Not an ideal situation for seniors with mobility issues. There is no microwave. No ice. TV is not cable, so be prepared for local broadcasts and limited options. No towel bars. Not a single one. Toilet paper felt like crepe paper, only thinner. Lodging is in the MSP flight path, and the windows and exterior walls are not insulated against noise. There are odor eliminators placed in strategic locations in the room, presumably to eliminate objectionable odors…from what, who knows? ( It was once an assisted living facility.) The HVAC is very, very poor. Other than that? Not bad. Don't let the room size fool you. We will not be staying again.

From the moment I arrived I felt like a VIP guest. Immediately during my check in Mr. Nicholas P., the Front Office Manager, made sure I had a room to my liking. During my 6 day stay, Nicholas and his colleague Ms. Sonia W., Asst. Front Office Manager seemed to be there anytime I had a question or concern. They also made sure I had plenty of warm cookies the DoubleTree is known for! (a nice extra). The property is well situated, with both adult and family oriented dining opportunities. The dining room and bar on site are both well equipped and serviced by courteous and professional staff. Overall this location has everything you would need and well priced for all the amenities available. If you find yourself in Bloomington, MN. be sure to consider staying at this location.
This hotel continues to decline from being a first rate business hotel to no longer providing services of a strong business hotel. I have stayed here 3 of every four weeks for the last six years including through the pandemic. We have hosted multiple company and customer events. You can no longer get room service from the restaurant - you get a to go box. I might as well stop at Panera if I want to eat out of a paper bag. The quality of the food and the service of the restaurant has declined. The wine list went from reasonably good to reasonably bad - higher markups with less interesting / artisan wine. A black coffee that you wait in line for in the morning costs nearly $8.00. We have a large employee event in March and a big customer event in August. We will be shopping around. This is a great example of decline after a purchase. There are so many options for other hotels. This hotel has no pool / out door space and it has noise from the highway. Once you eliminate your business traveler it is unlikely to fill up with little league teams.
Yash is AMAZING!!! He was working the overnight shift during a crazy storm. Helped me get a room for the night even though I was arriving super late and had to leave super early the next morning to get to the airport. He even made sure to arrange an airport shuttle for me at the right time and was still working the next morning when I left. He remembered my name and checked to make sure I was there to get on the shuttle. AMAZING!! The room was clean too. The true STAR is YASH!!! Yash was friendly, professional, polite, kind and just such a lovely person even after working the overnight shift. Give that man a raise. HE IS WONDERFUL!!!
Good place, I loved it, excellent service, all the workers are super friendly and the place has good comfort. The sheets are clean and the rooms smell good, the breakfast offerings are very good and varied, everything is well prepared and best of all, with good hygiene.
So disappointed in how we were treated at Holiday Inn. We stayed 3 night's, the morning we left on 8/2 from room 425 I called the front desk and asked that someone bring up a roll of toilet paper. Cassie (?) or who ever answered the phone told that all house keeper where on a break, and someone would be up in 15 min. That did not happen. 2 hours later Ericka came to the room. In the meantime I had gotten dressed and found a maid at the end of the hall. Hilton is next door. Next year when we come back to shop we will be at the Hilton. Room cleaning should come in More than once every 5 day 's.
Though the ratings for this property are generally good and my past stays at Hilton Garden Inns have been good to excellent, this property fell a bit short of expectations. On the plus side, most of the staff were very nice, especially the evening hostess at the bar (I believe her name was Sue), and our room on the front side of the hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet. On the downside, however, rooms and hallways were dated and a bit worn, there was no food and beverage service Sunday night (not sure if that's every Sunday or just when we were there), the breakfast was a serve-yourself set up with selections that were more limited than you'd find at many Hampton Inns, and there was no table service at all. The only staff person who came close to our table at breakfast was someone cleaning the table next to us, with his backside against our table. The evening meals and service were, however, good. In short, not a bad place at all, but some improvements are needed to match my usual Hilton Garden Inn experience.
