We think this was a wonderful place to stay after a long hard drive in bad rain in WV. This Hampton was very nice, and clean with a wonderful atmosphere and decor. We were graciously welcomed by the general manager. He was so helpful. He suggested a fantastic Mexican restaurant across the street. It was beautiful and the food was great! I loved the house sangria. The area was a safe, hometown, quiet, kind of place to be. Our room was very clean, and it had everything we needed. Breakfast was tasty and surpassed most motel breakfasts.

GGuest UserThe town lost power in the middle of the night and the hotels fire-suppression system lost pressure, triggering an alarm which the hotel staff tried and failed to deactivate for over two hours. I ended up leaving, because not only was it damagingly loud... i didn't feel safe there, knowing they had no fire safety equipment. The owner of the hotel refused my request for a refund because ”I left of my own volition” If I had stayed and there had been a fire in the building during the night, I would have had no way of knowing. I could have burned up in my bed because ”state fire code doesn't require a backup generator” Honestly, if this is the standard of safety and customer care of Super and the Wyndham group hotels, I think we can all afford to find other accomodations. An air BNB would have been infinitely safer, and no doubt more considerate. OR just make sure your hotel is over 75 feet tall, so they are required by the state to meet a minimum standard of safety.
