FFreedom14907335332Again...stayed here. Hotel is still new and beautiful. A little off the beaten track on Route 31...about 12 miles north of Keystone Crossing ( the swanky shopping area). The rooms are not like the usual Springhills. Bathrooms are designed beautifully. It has a walk in closet which is helpful with shelves for your folded clothes, because there is absolutely not enough space in chest drawers. I was solo and didn't care that much. (That seems to be the case at all Springhill designs.) I liked the mobile key feature. No need to stop at the front desk. Breakfast was average. One thing though...it didn't appear hotel was that full. I stayed 2 nights. On the second day, my room had not been made up when I returned around 3PM. A bit disappointing. I do, however, recommend this hotel and will keep on staying there in the future.

GGuest UserMy daughter and I were in town to see Janet Jackson at the Ruoff Music Center. I booked this hotel based on reviews and previous pleasant experiences at other Holiday Inn Express locations. If I go down for another concert, I will pick this place again. It's clean and modern; and there's free breakfast, wifi, a fitness room, and a pool (though the pool isn't very big and there is no hot tub). I know there are other services and benefits too, but those are the ones we used. The room was nice, relaxing, and clean. There was a microwave, fridge, and a hairdryer. I slept well and enjoyed staying there. I don't have much to say about the staff because we didn't interact with them much. In fact, we had to hunt someone down just to check-in when we got there. No problems with anyone, but interaction was pretty basic and bare minimum. Not necessarily a bad thing (it's not like I wanted to chat it up with anyone and I liked just being able to go about my business). I guess I'm just neutral regarding the staff. Overall, I'm very happy that we stayed here and I would stay there again.

This review is around cancellation policies that impact teams here for tournaments, which I assume is a large part of their customer base given proximity to the Grant Park Sports Campus. If you book directly, there won't be an issue if you make changes/cancel within 72 hours. If you book through Site Search, as most do as a part of the stay to play requirement, it increase to 5 days and all changes must go through Site Search. In my case, I called both the hotel front desk and Site Search directly within the 5 day window to change my check-in date to a day later. Wyndham told me they couldn't update it. Site Search didn't get back to me so I emailed them the next day, which put my email in the 4 day window. Long story short, Wyndham refused to make the update sticking by the 5 day rule, most would be understanding knowing I called the day prior which would put me in the 5 day. I've been coming to Westfield for years for both soccer and baseball. Not one hotel has been as inflexible as they are; other hotels realize changes happen once schedules are released. In addition, when I spoke to the manager- I said I would escalate further and she told me if I were to do that, she would cancel my stay. I clarified if she was threatening me to cancel if I continued to escalate and she said yes. Quite unprofessional and I was in shock. In addition, I stood at the front desk and watched them update another tournament families checkout, who had been staying here, so they could check out to a day earlier.

GGuest UserThe hotel was great, great location, very clean. Today when we woke up to shower there was no hot water and then the water barely trickled out so we had to leave with no shower. We’ve stayed there before with no issues. Sounds like they had problems Saturday and though the issue was resolved.

GGuest UserService is always great. Staff is very friendly - any time of day or night we have questions. I had an attack from my razor and they were quick to provide a bandaid for me. This is the second time I’ve stayed here at this hotel and it’s always very clean! They do have breakfast items to grannan and go and eat in your room. There is a pool, exercise room and there were even two gas grills on the back patio.

I had a relatively pleasant stay at this location. Compared to other Staybridge locations I have stayed at, I will say this one could use a little pick-me-up. Location is great. You are off of some backroads, which means you can make it around the area without having to get back onto the interstate. But, you are close enough to the interstate that it's also not an issue, either. I appreciated the Social Hour they offered, but variety was pretty limited. They only had chicken strips and waffles. And then some fruit, which was what I chose. I was hoping for a salad bar, as there were photos of such online. So, the lack of variety was a bit disappointing. That said, self-serve soft drinks were very welcome, and made up for the difference. Breakfast was disappointing for me personally, but YMMV. With breakfast, there was a much better variety. If you prefer a more savory breakfast, you should be good. If you prefer a more sweet breakfast, like I do, options are pretty limited. There were no donuts, danishes, muffins, cinnamon rolls. They had scones. They had make-you-own-waffles. I was interested in the oatmeal, but it was so watered down, I didn't even want to give it a try. I thought it was a nice touch that they offered free laundry, as I had a shirt I needed to freshen up. That said, after 2 hours in their dryers, my shirt was still damp as could be. I was only there for a night, so for my purposes, the room was great. It was clean and well-kept. The kitchen was well-stocked with anything you might need for meals. I will say that my toilet had some trouble flushing, but nothing that flushing twice or holding the handle down couldn't fix. I got a pretty good deal, on this stay, and I think it was worth what I paid. For a good price, I would have no issues with staying at this hotel in the future. But, I wouldn't necessarily make it my go-to, either.

We stayed here just this past weekend (Feb 17-28, 2023) This was the worst hotel experience our family has had with any property in over 20 years. While the staff were very friendly and I think they wanted to help, they did not seem to have the ability to actually do anything to improve our stay. The problems started as soon as we got into our room. We found the hide-a-bed broken. When unfolding the bed it obviously had something wrong as it would not fully extend from the sofa. After some effort the mattress came out and unfolded but the head of the bed was about 6 inches lower than the foot. When we informed the front desk they made a note but did not offer any other remediation, assistance or suggestions. Second, and very minor but still annoying, was the lack of pancakes at breakfast. There was a large sign promoting hot fresh pancakes but none of the items for pancakes were available. Only one stairwell was open and there was no indication that the other stairs were closed except for a note on the stairwell door that was unreadable until you were already at the door. However, the very worst part and the reason we will not recommend to others nor plan a stay at another Holiday Inn Express ourselves was the noise that continued without stop all night long. The noise was not from a guest but was from the music being played in the lobby. It was loud enough in our room on the second floor that we were unable to sleep more than a couple broken interrupted hours the entire night. It sounded like someone was playing heavy bass and drum music all night long; like there was a dance party going on. When we contacted the front desk about the noise the staff was very nice but unable to do anything to alleviate the situation as the volume controls were behind a locked door that he did not have a way to access. For the inability to sleep if i could rate the stay as zero stars i would. For all the problems, our room should have been free!! Nice staff, but a terrible hotel if you want to relax/sleep!!!!

GGuest UserGreat staff, nice room and great guests! This is the best hotel experience I have experienced so far. Especially clean and fresh stay. There is an in/out pool plus a great fitness area. Away from the riots, I suggest there must be transportation. Trust me, I don’t write much reviews, but this hotel I think is 5 stars!

TTracey WingerNice hotel being close to Ruoff Music Center. Cheap & clean. Elevator is a little sketchy but otherwise it’s good for a concert stay. There’s also a gentleman who runs a shuttle to and from the venue that’s very convenient!

TTracey WingerBooked for one night stay after a concert since I thought the price was reasonable. However, BUYER BEWARE! When you show up to check in, you have to pay $150.00 deposit. If you pay by cash, you can get a money voucher when you check out, IF your room has been checked by staff and approved. If you pay by card, you are refunded after a few days. To get your room approved to get your deposit back, you have to make sure the kitchenette is clean AND take out your own trash. This is completely ridiculous.
