Despite the curious fact that there were no human beings to check in with, my stay was pleasant. I was in the Harbor Master room. It was comfortable and nicely furnished. The room was mostly quiet. The steps and landing outside the door were pretty loud and creaky whenever someone walked to their room. There was just a thin blanket on the bed and it was cold and foggy outside so I looked around and found a fleece blanket in the wardrobe. There was also an electric heater which helped heat the room in the morning. The room coffee was decent. The Svenhard's pastries in the breakfast room were definitely not decent. Had there been a real continental breakfast, I would happily have given 5 stars. But they don't promise a breakfast of any kind so I guess what was there was a bonus. Overall it was a good experience and I'll definitely book here again the next time I go whale-watching out of Moss Landing.
This was a quaint little inn in a quaint little place! The rooms were spacious and clean! Loved the papaya soaps they stocked in the room! And the California shutters made for a beachy feel! They were easy to contact before our trip and made sure they accommodated our every need! They even had a coffee/hot chocolate maker in the lobby that we enjoyed during the cool mornings and evenings! There was a cute little cafe across the street and a convenience store! A few restaurants in the area. We were able to walk to our whale watching tour at the harbour. We chose this location because we loved the quiet low key on a previous visit and it was between Santa Cruz and Monterey. We travelled with two 14 year olds. Hope we get the chance to visit again!
Pros- spacious rooms, cheap prices, clean sleeping area. Cons- No front desk support, terrible house cleaning, very little parking, rude employees, bed not comfortable Can't in good coincidence give them anymore than 2 stars when, as guest, we request a roll of toilet paper at 6am because the house keeper didn't fill the roll the day before and we are told to wait till 9am. I was forced to go to the truck and look for napkins from past fast food visits.

The bedding was clean, which was a plus. The floors were not. Our carpet was filthy - not only stained, but it appeared to have not been vacuumed before our visit. There was debris all over. We requested housekeeping after our first night, as there were only towels for two (in a double bed room, four guests.) Housekeeping never showed up during our four night visit. We requested it each day. The fridge and TV did not work our first two days. Maintenance finally came (and brought us two more towels) on the third day and just left a new fridge (leaving the nonworking one in the room as well.) Breakfast was fine. Standard for a Hampton Inn. Pool appeared clean - we walked past it several times to get to our vehicle. Never swam.
Location was horrible. I finally found it from the freeway, no signage at exit, and had to go a mile or more past hotel sighting to turn around. Arrial was on a dead end street and into a trucking lot, scary. Nine pm arrival and gal at front was friendly. Room was ok and clean, but kind of old. Breakfast was next to nothing, not replenished and had to ask for the coffee. Again, it was clean, but creepy. When I saw the outside in the daylight, I knew I'd never go back.
Unpleasant stay experience. At the time of check-in, there was no door*** at the entrance. Someone was in front of the registration. After leaving the question, the front desk staff did not take the initiative to receive it. I also asked for the initiative to go forward. There was no smile in the process. Applying for a crib at check-in, one is bad, and I don’t see it until I leave it. The breakfast was delivered to the room and it felt a bit like a fast food, cutlery plastic. When I checked out, when I asked if I could give me a bill, the service staff threw two sheets of paper at hand. I was shocked. I asked if there was an envelope and then I threw it. The details of such a service made me think that I lived in a normal hotel. By the way, the hotel will charge an additional $30 environmental fee, saying that the hotel is built in a protected area...
On the side of the highway, Highway 1 chose this place for one night accommodation when coming by car. Hotel environment is average, standard Best Western, free parking, breakfast is available. You can walk to the beach in about ten minutes. The beach is good.
The environment is elegant, about 100 steps from the beach entrance, the room is decorated with heat-insulated light curtains, very suitable for tourists to sleep late.
It’s been at least 20 years since I stayed in a Motel 6. This was the only location that would accept my sons’ 4 month year old kitty “Zephyr”. Really pleased with the accommodations and upgrades. Shout out to Wilson and Jessica for being so helpful and giving us a great room.
The location of the hotel is relatively remote. There is a large Wal-Mart next to it, which is quite convenient for buying some daily necessities. The hotel room is equipped with a stove, other facilities are OK, and the sanitary conditions are also good. Living here on Highway 1 is relatively cost-effective.
The average price for hotels in Moss Landing is AED 637 on weekdays, and AED 832 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
