Best Mounds View Hotels

We love this place! Quiet. We were greeted with 2 bottles of water and free snacks from their side store. Complimentary cookies, bicycles, hot breakfast (self-made waffles, sausage patties/English muffin/round egg today) with usual cereal, oatmeal packets, yogurt, apples and oranges. We like the spacious suite but the room inside the bathroom was cramped. You have to get up from the toilet to let someone in. But everything here is super clean. Staff is delightful. Didn’t get to use the pool/pool slide or minimalist gym but grateful it is available.

I don’t know who rates a place like this anything more than 1-star. This is the most beyond disgusting and distasteful hotel I have ever been to. We drove up from Chicago for a wedding and only booked this place because the venue, Banquets of Minnesota, were right down the street. I never would have booked this hotel, had I known how awful it was actually going to be. We arrive at 3pm to check in and the front desk associate tells us “the room isn’t ready, check in starts at 3PM so there’s still time for the cleaning staff to finish up“ and then says “I don’t know when the room will be ready, I’m a front desk associate, not housekeeping”. Then 15-minutes later, her replacement comes in to relieve her of her shift and she’s walking out with her whole entire family (seems they live in the hotel), and leaves for the day. This associate was also apparently the “assistant manager” and dresses so provocatively in her crop top shirt and stained pants. What a great image of the property! We finally go up to our room at 3:45 and the AC is not working properly and the bathroom sink is clogged. We called the front desk and they told us that neither of the two issues were classified as emergencies and they don’t know when maintenance would be back. They told us to wash our teeth and everything else in the kitchen sink. Classy. The sheets also had stains on them! So much for extra time to “clean” the unit. The units also don’t have any windows to the outside. It’s like you’re living in a jail cell. People also walk around the hotel barefoot. There’s garbage everywhere outside and inside. We went down to the front desk to express our disappointment with the present issues and the front desk associate couldn’t get a hold of the manager or the assistant manager. Finally, after the 3rd call, the assistant manager answers (same girl that was there when we checked in in her little crop top shirt and stained pants) and told us that we could have gone to another hotel if we weren’t happy with our stay. FANTASTIC customer service! The assistant manager, the actual manager and the maintenance team are careless, rude, and completely incompetent and have no empathy for any of their guests that run into these issues. Stay away from this hotel and these classless people. No contact information for the general manager, Sean. Only person that shows face is Antoinette, the “assistant” and even then you’re better off not wasting your time trying to get any resolution when talking to her. Still waiting on them to give us a call back to discuss giving us our refund that we were promised!
