My college roommate and I stayed with John during the Belmont Stakes race weekend in Saratoga Springs (about 20 minutes north). John's Inn is super cozy and cool and chock full of interesting art and do dads (like a museum). The outdoor area is super well tended, with flowers and more art. Being the oasis that it is, chipmunks and rabbits and birds run / fly around his back patio / seating area. The bedroom we booked, had two twin beds that were super comfortable and the best pillows that I've had anywhere (feather pillows that were not too stuffed or empty). I slept like a baby both nights. Shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. John's breakfast was spectacular (he varied it from day to day and each day was better than the last). You can sit outside on his patio, which we did, but one day we just sat around the island in his kitchen and ate with John and the other guests, while John cooked and we all chatted. Felt like home. His super chill, very sweet dogs (two rescue greyhounds) hung out and minded their own business but did enjoy being patted as well. John is an extremely gracious host and you will be very happy if you take my advice and give The Garden Farm Inn a try. Cheers and thanks for a fine weekend John. I'll be back with my daughter one day. Larry S
Lovely mid-range hotel on the Hudson and close to everything in Troy -- easy access to restaurants, farmers market and the highway. Lots of parking spaces. Picked a room with waterfront views. Normal sized room with sofa. Big bathroom with walk in shower. Fridge, coffee maker etc. Bistro downstairs offers breakfast (paid) and dinner, however i did not eat there so cant comment. Lobby area is nice and open (glass with view on the hudson). Best feature for me was the ability to walk to town and try one of the many good restaurants. Troy itself has a bit of quirky to it and wonderful architecture. Felt safe walking back at night.
This hotel is probably one of the better hotels in Troy and it is also close to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The hotel's front desk is on the 3rd floor and requires an elevator. The rooms are large, the sanitary condition is good, the design facilities are also very useful, the parking lot is large, and the parking is convenient. Since the hotel is along the road, the noise is a bit loud and it is the only bad place.

The mansion was truly a “home away from home” with comfortable beds and amenities! Tina, the owner, is a wonderful host and cooks the best breakfast meals and offers a variety of snacks that one can access 24/7! There’s no check-in or check-out time and we got our own designated parking spot and designated bathroom! She’s also an excellent conversationalist and we learned a lot from her from the mansion’s history, the city of Troy, places to visit, and even vacation destinations and tips! The house doesn’t have the luxuries that hotel chains offer but the old charm and exquisite architectural and historical details of the old mansion PLUS the wonderful service Tina offers surely exceeded our expectations! We are actually planning on staying there again this coming weekend with our children this time! - Rufino and Lizza
We are from the UK on a road trip . Booked this hotel on the last minute . It was very reasonable , we didn’t expect much . Well we were pleasantly surprised . Lovely staff ,we got upgraded to a spa room , amazing big room with all amenities we needed . Clean and comfortable. Free breakfast as well . Definitely would stay here again .
This place is a disgrace from start to finish....Weeds growing all over the front and back of the property, mold in the bathroom, broken mirror light, no air conditioning, and not even coffee or coffee cups for breakfast!!!!.....I would give zero stars if I could. Hotel manager just gave excuses instead of accommodating. Horrendous stay
With a stay at Latham Inn in Latham, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Colonie Center Mall and University at Albany. This hotel is 1.2 mi (1.9 km) from Curtain Call Theater and 1.3 mi (2 km) from Pruyn House.
This hotel offers designated smoking areas.
The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 50 guestrooms.
The room is super large, two large beds of one meter and five, breakfast is also very rich, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs taste good. Bread, yoghurt and cakes come in a wide variety. Oatmeal is also quite suitable for the taste of the oriental.
The hotel is an old one and it seems as though it's caught between what it was and what it wants to be. Our overnight stay was fine, but that was about it. The room was clean, but crowded with the old kitchen and king bed. The hotel overall showed its age. Staff were generally helpful and pleasant to deal with. The hotel felt dark most of the time. Breakfast was pleasant although to get coffee or tea you had to go the front desk and when we went to breakfast, there was neither available. We probably would not return to this hotel as we're fairly sure that we could find a better quality in the area for the price.
The average price for hotels in Troy is AED 818 on weekdays, and AED 935 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
