Used to stay at the Candlewood suites until I booked a one bedroom king: the size was perfect for 3 ppl and a dog
. The hotel feels like it was opened for a few months: well maintained.
. The morning cleaning crew were awesome: ”Yes” is their answer with a big smile.
. The breakfast staff were on top of everything.
. Front desk always greeting their patrons and answering any questions.
. The location is perfect: shopping stores, restaurants, and a little far from the hassle of the city.
. My suggestion is to add more options for non pork eaters : chicken sausage, turkey bacon, or even beef bacon...
. From now on, this will be my favorite place to stay at.

**I want to preface this by saying I tried to talk to a manager several times about my issues, but none was ever available.** After staying at the Best Western in Defuniak Springs, I can absolutely say I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it. I stayed for two nights, a Friday and Saturday, and immediately upon arriving I realized I had made a mistake. It isn't often I will look for another room after I check in, especially since I could lose the night cost wherever I was, but to leave here I would have gone elsewhere had someplace had room. Overall, I would say this property is at least 25 years overdue for a top to bottom, inside out overhaul. It is tired and shows its age. Perhaps this is why management was nowhere to be found, and the staff seemed to be completely unaware of how to handle a guest concert. Below are details: THE GOOD: Lobby/Reception - Nothing. I can't say anything good about it. Room: - Despite everything you read below, the one good I noticed about the room was that even though I was in front of the pool, I never heard people outside. - The hallways to the rooms had a clean crisp smell. General: - The parking lot offers a nice place to run laps for exercise. THE BAD: Lobby/Reception/Staff - Lobby is locked at some point in the evening. There is no way in without being buzzed in by the front desk. No keycard access or anything. It is completely segregated. - Lobby is full of dark tones, way tired and out of date. - Front desk person who checked me in didn't check my ID or credit card. I actually handed her the card I wanted to use and was completely ignored. - Front desk is not constantly staffed. I waited 5 minutes to check out Sunday morning, and nobody was around. I ended up leaving the room key. - The only staff at night is the front desk person. Nobody to take care of or fix problems that arise - Front desk staff that was there when I checked in was completely unprepared for any issues from guests. - Despite advertising free breakfast, I was told it was a cost. - NO LUGGAGE CARTS!!!! This one was a major shocker. Room: - The room had a strong odor of **** in the entry. - The room was tired, dated, and worn. The room felt like it was getting smaller, closing in on you. It almost felt like being in a dungeon. - There is no light switch for the room itself, just a switch in the entry that lights up the entryway a little. At night, when I arrived, I had to use my phones flashlight to find other lights and see how to turn them on. - There is some sketchy electric work in the bathroom that was rigged at very best, fire hazard is more likely. If they ever had an actual city/county code inspection, I am pretty sure they'd fail. - The furniture was chipped, scraped, scuffed, and in very poor state of repair. - The walls were filthy. Gunk, Grime, stains, holes. - The door to the room was poorly fitted, light/noise/temperature get through it without issue. - Door does not auto close. If you don't close

Hotel is in a nice location however it could really do with a good tidy up, windows were dirty and the place could do with a deep clean. Rooms were ok but very noisy being on the road and you could hear every footstep from the room upstairs. Food wasn't great, not enough choice on the lunch and dinner menus and breakfast was very greasy and overcooked. This is by far the worse stay we have had in a Best Western.
The People running it are super nice and helpful. I was traveling alone and felt very safe. The room was very clean and the staff are friendly. The beds are comfortable and the pillows are very nice. If you are traveling through give them a try!

Ppam0357Great location in walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Miramar beach was only 10 minute drive from the hotel. Kudos to the exceptional staff that worked on Saturday the 14th through Monday the 16th!! Breakfast was good too and lots of options!
CcattlerepairmanI really appreciated the light and airy feel of the inside of the hotel. A central skylight runs the length of the ”courtyard” style open center space that houses the restaurant, bar and other common areas. The room, while generous and clean, was on the dark side. This may have been because of the first floor location; a higher floor may be better. The Hilton app presents this hotel as ”having a beach”. Technically, this is correct, but said beach is across the street, across a parking lot and across an access bridge. I estimate it is a good 900 ft/300m walk. Important to know if mobility impaired or trying to get little kids, cooler and equipment to the beach.
MmrsgatorbranchThis is the second year we’ve stayed at this hotel. The rooms are huge if you get their Junior suite with the bunk beds ( we haven’t stayed in any other room so I don’t know about those) Ours was a king with a pair of bunk beds and a little living room with pull out couch. You could very comfortably sleep 5 people. The hotel room has a small refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig. We were on the bottom floors and had a decent size porch that walked out to the pool. The hotel was very clean. The only complaint I have is the beds are very hard. They redid the rooms between last year and this and they must have changed the mattresses, because last year the beds were not this hard. If you like a very firm bed you will probably like it. I like a softer bed. The hotel is convenient to stores and restaurants. This hotel also had multiple restaurants and drink options on property, along with a Starbucks. The staff if very nice and knowledgeable. The view of the ocean is incredible! This hotel is beachfront and has quick and convenient access to the beach from the pool deck. There are also 2 pools separated by a bar/restaurant. We just left and I’m already ready to go back
We have stayed in Hilton Garden Inns from Key West to Miramar Beach, and are very happy with them. The rooms are nicely designed and decorated. Since this one was almost full, we got an accessible room that had inadequate lighting. Ramsey solved that problem personally and quickly. Breakfast was ”order by menu”, and not cheap, but very well done. We enjoyed our server Dory. She was polite and efficient - we couldn't ask for better.
As I approached the hotel I was flabbergasted at how amazing it actually looked in person. Walking in was breathtaking very fancy looked extremely expensive. Greeted and given my room key right away. Just like the main lobby and the outside of the hotel, again presented with a really nice bedroom and bathroom. The king size bed was super comfortable and then there’s the pool, very nice and relaxing. Definitely recommend booking here

GGuest UserI was traveling from Las Vegas to Orlando, FL over the course of 4 days when I encountered a major mechanical breakdown 8 miles from DeFuniak. After traveling 2000 miles through rain and snow, I was forced to bring the trip to an end. I wound up off the interstate at this Red Roof Inn and completely satisfied with the modern amenities, great air conditioning and heating and ice cold refrigerator. The manager was even gracious enough to help me load a trike onto a Uhaul auto dolly after I spent an hour attempting to load it alone without damaging the low hanging front bumper cover and undercarraige. It was nice to have a warm and quiet place to rest after a grueling trek across the United States. I was able to get home 8 homes later feeling refreshed.
