Staff impeccable, room spacious, view lovely, location a couple of blocks off the noisy main tourist street in town. Decor just a little understated, but still lovely. Corridors, stairwells, dining room, lobby and guest room spotless. Bed and bedding tops, comfortable. We fell asleep early and didn’t mind the neighborhood roosters making sure we were up in time for breakfast and activities. Food excellent. On site, active embroidery studio a lovely and authentic local touch.

The resort is located in a quiet area, surrounded by beautiful nature with a view to the rock formations. The room was large, comfortable and very clean. The staff is very friendly, but we would especially like to mention Chi, who welcomed us so warmly. We enjoyed the Christmas buffet with a fantastic show and excellent food. The resort has a beautiful pool as well. We can only recommend this resort and would come again.

Cannot speak highly enough of this place. It's a wonderful jungle retreat. The huts are very comfortable with aircon, en suites, a plunge pool and soft beds. Food is also superb with all the traditional Vietnamese dishes as well as Western options. The staff are incredibly obliging especially Candy who even taught us how to ride the automatic scooters. Have a go on the scooters, it's easy to learn, great fun and navigation a doddle with Google maps. The Hotel also has a swimming pool which was very welcome after a long day touristing!

Simple, rustic hotel in Ninh Binh. We stayed here for two nights to explore Ninh Binh. From the start, D, the hotel staff was very prompt in answering our inquiries which was very assuring for a pleasant stay. Our private airport transfer to the hotel went without a hitch. Arriving at the hotel in the morning, we were offered breakfast which was well appreciated. The room was spacious and clean but needs refurbishment. The place is peaceful and quiet. Overall a very good stay.

Location nice , but accommodations disappointing this time around, after having stayed here 2 times earlier in 2019. Owner added pool during Covid, but didn’t upgrade and make WiFi accessible for all rooms. Pool was nice to enjoy during hot weather. Bicycles are available and free, but not in best condition , choose carefully… Breakfast was no longer included in price, required to pay and additional $$. Family lives on property and with small children. Not always quiet. Often high traffic area with groups coming in for meals at their restaurant. 2 rooms along the River does not have places to hang your clothes if you want to unpack if you’re stay is a few days, and the bed mattress was very uncomfortable. Family, mother and father along with the 2 sisters were helpful and tried to accommodate requests. Price of the accommodations does warrant the amenities… There’s many other places within walking distance that are nicer, I’m disappointed with myself for not changing hotels, but I lived and learned Recommend you to bring sanitizer wipes to use especially in the bathroom, the mother does the housekeeping and many places are not cleaned. Recommend staying 1-2 nights here, afterwards service is neglected. Overall Tam Coc Ninh Binh is a beautiful place to come and relax from busy Hanoi

Stayed in the bungalow for 2 nights. The room was ok, but the bathroom was not great. I could smell the toilet as soon as we were shown our bungalow for our stay which was not impressive, so we had to close the door every time. The bathroom looked half done. There was no shower, just a bathtub with a shower head that sat waist high, which meant it was very awkward for those that don’t want to use the bath. The mirror was too large at the sink that the corner was over part of the nailed shut window. The bungalow we stayed at was near the massage and spa place along with pool tables next to it. This was noisy in the mornings. The only saving grace was the view outside the bungalow, and being able to enjoy the mountain at sunrise before visitors arrive during the day. They had a restaurant located on site which closes around 9.30pm. The food was standard and nothing special, and the first morning they didn’t have a breakfast buffet. Instead they had a given us a menu which was hand written, and told to pick what we wanted to order for breakfast. The options were very limited and my noodles were very oily. I would save my money and stay elsewhere, or just take the day trip from Hanoi. It may have been worthwhile if we chose a different lodging option but I definitely would not be running back to stay. The staff were nice and booked us taxis into town as there was not much nearby to eat something decent. I left feeling extremely disappointed, and initially when we booked the room the photos seemed to show a different story. I wish I took photos to show the disappointment, but it was the last thing on our mind.

Unfortunately, our two night experience here wasn't as good as we'd hoped from looking at the photos and reviews on Tripadvisor. Upon arrival, staff seemed friendly and helped us up to our room with our bags. We booked a double room which was located one floor up from the reception. There was no noise from the reception area itself but we got very little sleep due to dogs barking throughout the night (all windows were closed). The room itself was a little dated and not the cleanest of hotel rooms (though it could have been worse). There were stains on the blinds, walls, bedding and fabric chair which were a little gross. Hot water worked fine for us and the minibar was restocked with the water which we had used. Staff were friendly when we saw them, but their presence was lacking at times and the hotel seemed very quiet. We were looking forward to sitting out on the large balcony up top (from which the views were stunning) but this area seemed neglected with the bar closed and no guests using it which was sad since we were looking forward to spending evenings chatting to others and relaxing as per the photos we'd seen. We can't comment on food as we didn't eat at the restaurant, though no one seemed to eat there in the evening. We borrowed bicycles (free of charge) from the hotel which was a brilliant way of seeing some of the phenomenal local area. Overall, our experience here wasn't great but it may have been a different story if we'd booked a better room on the other side of the hotel away from the noise of the dogs!

We stayed here 2 nights and wish we'd stayed another night. The homestay family were lovely and the children delightful. It's near the end of a lane surrounded by rock karsts so feels secluded but only about 1km walk or cycle from town. Tam Coc is busy and full of the usual backpacker cafes, travel agents and shops so nice to be a little outside it. The owner drove us to Trang An and the Ninh Binh Bear sanctuary ( a must see) which was convenient (paid him normal taxi rates). Room clean and tidy, breakfast basic and good.

GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The swimming pool is simply incredible and perfect for cooling off at the end of the day. The boss is super nice and always ready to help. The breakfast is top notch, offering a variety of delicious choices.
The hotel offers a multitude of services such as bicycle and scooter rental, which is very convenient for exploring the surrounding area. In addition, they advise you on the routes to follow in Ninh Binh, which is a big plus for discovering this beautiful region.
I recommend this hotel 100%!

SStephanieI truly cannot say enough good things about this place. Dzung and his family were so kind and generous. They went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. The pictures of the home stay on the internet do not do this place justice. Dzung has made every effort to make his guests feel at home. We each had bicycles that we could use free of charge. The breakfasts that his wife made were delicious, best pancakes! We had our own bathrooms and the rooms and facilities were absolutely pristine. Trip.com indicated that this home stay had shared washrooms but this isn’t always the case, we had our own private bathrooms. We also couldn’t get enough of the rooftop pool! Dzung was so helpful showing us where to go and what to do. The home stay is so conveniently located, away from the hustle and bustle. So tranquil and peaceful. We will mostly definitely be returning. This was truly a special experience that my husband and I will never forget. Thank you Dzung and your family for being the most gracious hosts. We felt as though we were a part of your family. We will see you all soon!

Unfortunately when I stayed they still had parts of the hotel under construction like the pool area and drive way and the family accommodation next to the drive way. There is also a few other houses/hotels under construction in the area at the moment so it’s not so quite during working hours.
The family was very helpful and kind. I took a free bike to Trang An which was an easy 20 min ride (stopped for some pics along the way). I also ordered a late meal which they were happy to fix for me.
Right by a small lake and surrounded by mountains it’s very picturesque. Large rooms and comfy beds. I would definitely recommend.

GGuest UserWe stayed for 5 nights and it was a fantastic experience throughout! Room was clean and had hot water, Netflix and aircon. View at the homestay was great and allowed us to relax thoroughly. Host was very friendly and gave us good advice on where to travel in the area. We had bbq and family was so kind to help us with the bbq. Location is ideal for travelling to trang an boat ride and hang mua cave. Bicycle rental is for free. Overall, highly recommend others to visit this homestay to complete your vietnam experience!

The biggest highlight of the hotel is the large swimming pool, suitable for family travel. The disadvantage is that the environment is cleaned and hygienic. It may be improved. It may be understaffed and there is no extra manpower to organize. It is a pity. The hotel can take a set itinerary. We chartered a car to the Songya Bird Ecological Tourism Area on the first day, 400,000 VND (about 7 kilometers from the hotel). It is recommended to rent a locomotive to go to the more cost-effective. The next day, chartered a car to Trang an Chang'an Scenic Area (Lulong Bay) ➝ Hoa lu Huaxu Ancient City ➝ Lunch ➝ Baiding Temple Cha Bái ính- Ninh Bnh Tour, 1 million VND. On the third day, go to Mua Caves ( Hang Mua) (4.7 kilometers) and rent a bicycle to go. Back to Hanoi to book a car to the hotel, 200,000 VND/person, the ticket is cheap, the disadvantage is that it is necessary to connect multiple times, the advantage is that there is no rest in the middle, the time spent is the same as sitting limosion

GGuest UserOur arrival didn't go very well. The toilet didn't work and the manager immediately set to work to fix it but no success. So then he had to put us in the very last available room which was not as nice as what we booked. However, the next day we were given a new good room. Our booking included breakfast but no breakfast is served at the place. So he took us on a motorbike to a restaurant nearby where we were allowed to order a cheap brekfast. So don't book it with meals. Our main problem was that the manager guy spoke no English at all. You had to type your questions on his phone which translated it. That made you think twice before asking. Also he was always very serious, no smiles at all. But he did fix all the issues, so he is working hard. We actually wanted to book a room at Tam Coc FriendLY Homestay but somehow we booked this one by mistake. Even the taxi brought us to the wrong one, so beware of the difference! It is a little bit out of Tam Coc town, but very close to the Bich Dong Pagoda. There are a few Vietnames restaurants nearby, walking distance. The nice thing is that you can use the bikes for free. So we cycled to Tam Coc, Hang Mua and Trang An with the bikes provided. The homestay is on a side road, very quiet. It has a small swimming pool and there were kids in it enjoying it grately. The room is very large, the largest we had in Vietnam. It has AC, WiFi, fridge and kettle (bring your own supplies). The bathroom is also quite spacious but the shower goes all over it. The sink is outside the bathroom in the room, which was nice. Things were clean. We stayed here 3 days and once we knew how to operate (restaurants, bikes) we felt alright.

From before we arrived the receptionist was messaging asking for our time of arrival what our plans are and suggesting things to do! ☺️ Our washing was done so fast and they also organised a bike for us. Breakfast was lovely and while we were waiting for our bus when we were leaving we were given free refreshments and then a lift into town from the lady for free which she didn’t need to do! Thank you for looking after us so well.

The hotel manager (and her two extremely adorable kids) were very kind and hospitable even though they were clearly short-staffed leading to forgetting some of the requests. The family room was quite spacious. The breakfast was a little bit underwhelming but for the price paid, it was worth it. The hotel offers an impressive range of services from renting scooters to arranging boat tours.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this little hotel recently for two nights and really liked it. The rooms are comfortable and not expensive and Thuy is lovely and speaks reasonable English. Good AC and there is also a fan. Good location about 1/2 kilometre from Tam Coc centre. There is a great pool that we didn’t use as we were too busy sightseeing.

GGuest UserWe had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Ninh Binh and were able to see so much of the area in just one day. The location of the home stay was super for this and we were also delighted that the staff were helpful in arranging transport to the train station and Trang An. Until we came to leave, we would have been comfortable leaving a 3 or 4 out of 5 rating. We were however made to feel extremely uncomfortable by the man who oversaw our stay, as he began hassling us to leave a review before we had had breakfast. This intensified when we returned from our day out; we were obliged to leave a review before he would drive us to the station (which we had already paid him for). We left a generous review on *********** (averaged at 8.0/10) which did highlighted the one area we felt was lacking - the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms. The man then proceeded to drive incredibly unsafely (including at points driving without holding the steering wheel, across two lanes in relatively busy traffic and far slower than the rest of the traffic) whilst using his phone to translate his haranguing of us about our review, eventually resulting in us having to speak to his boss on the phone about why we hadn’t left a 10/10 review. The entire interaction left us feeling distinctly uncomfortable and spoiled the end of our trip. We were relieved to get out of the vehicle, even though it was not in the drop-off location we had agreed.

Tam Coc Ninh Binh
余余杭剑客The scenery is pretty good. The main thing is to take a boat trip. Vietnamese boatmen row manually, and one boat can seat about 4 people. Passing through various caves, the main thing is to enjoy the scenery formed by various karst mountains and caves on the boat. The whole journey takes about 2 hours. If the weather is good, the scenery is still very good, but it is a bit sunny on the boat, so be sure to do a good job of sun protection. There are also umbrellas on the boat to block the sun.
Hoa Lư Ancient Capital
翱翱翔的大鲨鱼Hoa Lu Ancient Capital was the political capital of the first unified dynasty of Vietnam, the Dinh Dynasty and the Pre-Le Dynasty. It is located 90 kilometers south of Hanoi, about two hours' drive away. Hoa Lu was chosen as the ancient capital in the 10th and 11th centuries because of its unique terrain and the natural barriers of limestone mountains. It was not until the early 11th century when the Li Dynasty moved its capital to Thang Long (Hanoi). In the 17th century, two temples were built on the site of the ancient capital to commemorate the ancient emperors of Vietnam, one for Dinh Hoan, the founding emperor of the Dinh Dynasty, and the other for Le Hoan, the founding emperor of the Pre-Le Dynasty. These are also the main historical attractions that tourists visit when they arrive in Hoa Lu Ancient Capital.
