I booked my room through the Marriot bonvoy app, given that the hotel was transitioning to the Marriot brand. I booked a luxury room, city view with balcony. The first night I was kept awake by a nightclub opposite, and so the manager moved me the next night to another room, room 225, which was an internal room but no sofa, balcony or city view. But it was quiet. The room itself was spacious and clean enough, although the door looked like it had been jimmied at some point and the bed was oddly positioned next to it. Frankly it looks like it was at some point a store room that was converted, but still was clean and I was really only there to sleep. The issue came at check out when the staff wanted to charge me for the luxury room for the whole week, even when i challenged the lack of balcony and sofa. There was also no city view (it was an internal room and my view was an air duct). In fact this room does not exist on the Marriot booking app, which is not surprising because it is not a Marriot-standard room. Eventually the manager agreed a discount and kindly offered a bottle of wine. Other observations- we ordered a chicken club sandwich and fries the first day, they took 1.5 hours to arrive- we were told variations of stories like ‘chef is grilling the chicken’ or ‘toasting the bread’ or ‘building the sandwich’. I think you need to teach your chef to make a grilled chicken sandwich as I could have prepared a whole chicken dinner in that time. We had no water for a whole day, and instead of being upfront with when the water was coming back we were fobbed off, told it was filling the tank on several occasions when in fact the water had not returned. I get utilities can go a bit awry in ZA, just tell your staff to be upfront and say they don’t know. However we were offered a room to shower in, and a bucket of water to flush our toilets, so all was good in the end. Whilst I think the hotel itself is not a Marriot standard (yet) I do appreciate that between the excuses the staff was brilliant. I know I’m not an easy guest if my expectations are not met, but they remained calm and courteous and ultimately we were able to reach agreement. So I think your staff are definitely Marriot standard even if the hotel is not. A particular thank you to the student from the international hotel school, Lerato, who served us in the restaurant each night. She was great! So whilst I wouldn’t rate this hotel as a Marriot just yet, I think it has a lot of potential and so hopefully with a bit more care to the rooms it will be up to scratch.

We loved The Aviary. Home while away from home. We will definitely recommend the place for anyone. It is a beautiful place. It is so peaceful there in the middle of a busy city. The owners will go the extra mile for you. The Bolanders( Wes-Kaap)

What a place! I can't rate it high enough. This hotel is so amazing - I almost want to be selfish and keep this gem to myself! But I am not that type of person :) Menlyn Boutique Hotel is just superb! The staff, the food, the facilities and attention to detail - spectacular! They all go out of their way to make you feel special and looked after. Thank you Jafta for your kindness! My only regret is that I didn't stay longer. My daughter and I are already planning our next visit from KZN.
I had a beautiful stay, the room is spacious, the bed is in very good condition, the staff us very friendly and the hotel is easily accessible to the train station and to university of Pretoria.
Located about 30 minutes on foot from Pretoria Station, convenient for sightseeing.
Adjacent to Sunny Park Shopping Center, restaurants and supermarkets are enriched.
You can see the Union Building from the window, and the room is comfortable with a soft and fluffy bed. Shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap are provided.
To get to the reception on the 2nd floor, you need to go through security on the 1st floor, so safety measures are solid.
The WIFI signal is strong and the internet environment is also ◎
Very pleased with our stay here. This is a small hotel on the outskirts of Pretoria at the end of a quiet leafy street, well situated for the N1 and N4 freeways. The parking is secure, the staff were brilliant very friendly and informative. The food was of a high standard, although a very limited dinner menu. Good view from the dining room. I liked the layout of this hillside building. The bathroom was spacious and the gardens were small but well layed out with small pool, jacuzzi and water features/ponds. Famous 'jacaranda' trees stand just down the road and they're worth seeing! The only gripes I would have is that the room was a bit cold, and noisy at night due to traffic, planes etc. No sound-proofing. Just bring ear plugs. Breakfast service was slow (on weekdays) But overall this was a great place to stay, excellent value for money, and I'd recommend it to anybody :-)

Outstanding
I was in South Africa on business and chose the Capital Trilogy based on recommendations from my colleagues. My room was very clean upon arrival and was well maintained for the duration of my trip. It is situated in a perfect location, within walking distance to many restaurants. There is also a shopping center next door.

GGuest UserI was travelling to Namibia and used this hotel for an overnight stay. It is about a 35 minute taxi ride from Johannesburg airport at night. Almost all the distance was on a secure highway. The hotel is located in a very good location in Pretoria, next to a sports stadium. The central part of Pretoria was an easy 5 minute ride away. The hotel is in fact located in a complex with a sports stadium, restaurants, bars, shopping, grocery, and other amenities. It is very secured as it is cordoned of by fencing and security. The staff was pleasant, greeted me and smilingly gave me my room details. I had a beautiful clean room with fresh bedding, a shower, some amenities, and a good night's sleep. There was a nice sky bar with good late night food and music. It was nice sit in the bar and enjoy the Pretoria Skyline. There is a pool in the roof. Breakfast was a good spread. It was a nice experience at this hotel.
Our 3-night stay in January 2025 was just magical. On arrival day we received a call from the Lodge Manager Audrey to ask if they can start up the hot tub as it takes some time to get warm. So not only did we arrive to a very friendly and warm Audrey but also the hot tub was ready for us. And wow what a view from the hot tub! We saw Zebra, Wildebeest and Impala all in our first 2 hours-sitting in the hot tub with a drink in hand! We stayed in the Superior Unit and what a beautiful unit it is! The king-sized bed, with mosquito net was so comfortable, the outside shower had great water pressure and the bath with the view into the bush was so special. The self-catering kitchen had all utensils you could possibly need and on top of that tea and coffee is provided-and not instant coffee sachets but filter coffee with coffee plunger. The braai with great seating right up against the perimeter fence is spectacular. We enjoyed an early morning safari and were lucky to see Lion, Hyena, Cheetah, Kudu, Eland, Giraffe and Warthogs. The guide was professional and very passionate about the reserve and all its inhabitants. Besides the beautiful location and accommodation, the very friendly staff make a visit very special. No request is too big, and everyone works as a team. We loved out time at LookOut Safari Lodge and are dreaming of our return holiday in December.
GGuest UserStaying at Foreva Wild is a wonderful experience, the staff are super-friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is comfy. Location is great since it's inside the nature reserve , and as I was driving around I spotted plenty of wild animals! There are also guided safari drives nearby which were easy for me to book. The lodge is secure and clean. Breakfast is delicious. Wi-fi is okay , some spots are understandably slow with connection. Recommend using mobile data or bring your own mini-router/dongle. Overall, good value for money and you can be sure to be well taken care of at Foreva Wild !
The service at Bushman's Rock was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who went out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience. The team was efficient and accommodating, making sure all our needs were met promptly. The welcoming atmosphere and personal touch added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking for top-notch service in a beautiful setting
YYvonne NgemaWe came from Stay Easy Mbombela in Mpumalanga which we came to know was renovated maybe 2 years back and looks stunning so our expectations were high. Stay Easy Pretoria has an old style inside the rooms, the furniture is just brown with no personality. We didn’t have a fridge like we did in MP. There was an ice machine on each floor. The dining area is small and as there was a soccer team it got full quickly and it was hard to move around. I wouldn’t really say it was value for money.
This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. It has EVERYTHING a home has. Everything. I will always book this hotel for my family. We got a 3-bedroom apartment for my family of 5 and we loved it.The staff is so helpful and friendly.
GGuest UserFriendly staff. However quite unprofessional. One prefers to have their breakfast in peace, some of the staff members were grouped right in front of the elevator with a view, chatting as if they didn’t have work to do which was quite disturbing as this is just by the dining area. When you stand up to dish up for yourself- they’re starring. Also, the aircon has a “heat” option which when you switch to, the temperature is rather cold. The double room has head lamps attached to the board just above the bed but had no bulbs. The noise coming from the passages are unbearable. You can’t sleep or nap peacefully.
GGuest UserVery disappointed! On my first night, I got given a stinky blanket and I returned it to the house keeping ladies. Then my room was cleaned the following day, and dirty towels were taken out but not replaced with clean ones. I went personally to the reception desk downstairs to report this, as the lady on duty was not answering my calls from the room. She promised to arrange for clean towels to be delivered to my room but they never arrived. The next morning I had to shower without any towels.
