Apartaments Cales de Ponent

July 2024 Fantastic stay. Very clean in all areas and attentive staff. Buffet breakfast amazing. Very short walk to beaches - all clean and calm waters. A choice of restaurants to eat out at night. Will definitely be back. Lovely relaxing holiday. Thank you Cales de Ponent xxx

Very clean two bedroom apartment, plenty of storage and we had a poolside room with seating.All the staff there are friendly and extremely efficient constantly cleaning and taking good care of the you and the hotel, they are all an absolute credit to the owners. Free safe and wifi which is a bonus, plenty of crockery etc in the kitchen, everything that you need, also TV. The breakfast is excellent, very good quality and choice, different milks, hot and cold options, an absolute treat, the dining room also extremely clean. Not a lot in entertainment locally, some of the restaurants were not open in the evening, possibly due to it being the start of the season?, however the cave restaurant right next door was open and the owner very friendly, food nice. This is a relaxing holiday in a good location, beach on the doorstep,therefore not for some who may crave nightlife, but buses to Cuitadella aren't far away and run to time. If visiting again we would definitely stay here , thank you !

We had a pleasant stay at cales de ponents, located in the neighborhood of Santandria. The apartment was fully equipped and had a delightful terrace. Additionally, having a nearby supermarket was incredibly convenient. However, I do believe that the staff could improve their friendliness to enhance the overall experience. Furthermore, it was necessary to take a short walk to find some dining options in the area.

OAP couple opted for this hotel without huge expectation as I believe this was rated a 3 star hotel and previously having been to 4 star accommodation more often than not. We had booked a 2 bed apartment and allocated flat 23 which turned out to be an excellent location on the ground floor within 25 yards of the pool. I`ll divide the review into segments for ease of reading. RECEPTION. The entrance impressive befitting a hotel with 4 stars. The staff were attentive and the booking in swift and competent. FLAT Initial impression wasn`t that great in terms of space but was functional. The living room with a couch TV and a sideboard. Dining room with table and chairs and a kitchen with room to cook a meal if required.(bigger than some kitchens have visited) Bathroom compact for washing/shaving and not much space for toiletries but functional. Large walk in shower but was tired and the tray had large brownish mark which was off putting and could have done with re grouting bit of paintwork.(bathroom).Powerful shower with liquid soap supplied for sink and shower. The flat was spotlessly clean which was a common theme applicable to all areas of the complex. The dining room had air con and the master bedroom with the other bedroom considerably smaller had a fan(not great) POOL Looks nicer than the photographs show and surrounded by trees and flower boxes.Pool kept impeccably and sun loungers more comfortable than other complexes.Sufficient number of umbrellas for size of complex and always available.No towel louts either. Mix of all nationalities in hotel and not a hint of disagreement at any time nor did I see anybody complaining about any issues to reception staff which is a good sign. Pool bar open for snacks and drinks and not extortionate prices, Strangely the pool was much quieter mid morning on but around 5pm seemed to fill up to a greater degree and pool open to 9pm. LOCATION. The hotel is located on an incline quite steep and while the hotel itself is relatively suitable for people with mobility issues the surrounding areas are tricky and suspect would mean frequent use of taxis which are not that expensive. RESORT Cala Sanandria is not a large place with much residential.There are not many restaurants but those that are there are of a good quality .The beach itself is literally 50 yards from the hotel and has the usual sun beds and thatched umbrella to protect from the sun. 2 beach bars and we found Es Bruc the best and cheapest. The beach is set in a superb cove with water vehicles for hire. Strangely there is a population of ducks who live on and above the beach and wander into the beach bar. To access another 2 restaurants with sublime views over the cliff onto the cove you need to walk along the beach onto a track which leads to a flight of stairs. Apart from that there is another restaurant sa quadra which is just outside hotel and thoroughly recommend the chateaubriand. That`s it for the local restaurants but you can walk to Cala Blanc

Booked a 7 night B&B stay here with Tui. As a Bed & Breakfast the very least you expect is a good standard of both and unfortunately we found this hotel was lacking. Whilst the apartments are all of a similar style (white Ikea type furniture) ours was just a little run down. The fridge had seen better days and our twin room was a single bed with a pullout underneath. The position of our apartment was also unfortunate as we were directly above the play area behind a huge tree which gave us shade we didn't need or want and meant drying clothes was impossible (the weather was not the usual full sunshine-sadly). We tried the breakfast twice but sadly had to find an alternative due to the fact that the coffee was out of a machine (they serve fresh in the bar so i'm not sure why this was the case) there is no table service, so it feels very much like a canteen. The "fresh bread/ pastries" were not at all and generally it was all very lacking in any care or attention. We ended up buying fresh Croissants from Spar and a coffee from the bar downstairs. The pool area is well maintained and we did enjoy a few lazy afternoons there however, the bar closes for the majority of the afternoon so even getting an ice-cream is a chore and as for the snack selection on offer again its not fresh. The upside to this hotel is the location, the beach and all surrounding restaurants are excellent. We payed good money for this week away on that basis I definitely would have expected a better standard.

This is a lovely and clean apartment complex! It is perfectly located! Steps away from Santandria beach and some fantastic bars and restaurants! Also within walking distance from a supermarket. Lovely pool area! Pool bar not open in the afternoons! Staff all very friendly!
