Staff were very polite and helpful. Hadn’t realised that breakfast was included which was great value. Good views of the mountains from the higher floors. The breakfast was very good - everything you could want. No tea and coffee in the room but free hot drinks from a machine 24 hours. Parking was secure.

Quirky Ibis Styles Hotel. Good location for the station but about a 20-minute walk to the centre restaurants. Pre booked parking at an additional cost of 9.5 euros. Good secure car park at the rear of the hotel. Room and hotel has a quirky style. The breakfast area is very small and can be busy, but the lady is looking after it works very hard to keep clean and topped up with food. Young man, on reception, spoke good English. No Accor benefits, no welcome drink ( gold member ), and I had to contact Accor customer service to get loyalty points/night added to my account.

The location (just across from the station) is why we chose the hotel - (1) we arrived by train from Paris (2) next morning, we were able to take the train to Aulnat airport to pickup our car rental from Hertz. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms seemed unusually small (have stayed in many ibis styles properties elsewhere), but beds were comfortable and it was very quiet. Note to guests and hotel staff : there is a train (TER) running between Clermont Ferrand station and Vertaizon, which stops at Aulnat airport and makes for a quick (7 mins) and cost effective (1.5E ticket) airport transfer, which we did eventually take. The frequency is somewhat limited though, so if you can work with that timetable, its a better idea than expensive airport taxis. Just thought I should clarify this, as there seemed to be some confusion over this possibility.

Ayant réservé par téléphone, il a bien été précisé qu’une réservation d’une table pour le dîner était demandé. La réceptionniste, peu aimable, a demandé une arrivée à 18:30. Finalement, 19h/19:30 a été accepté. A l’arrivée, un jeune réceptionniste, très aimable, a annoncé que l’hôtel n’avait pas de restaurant (sauf pour le petit déjeuner et que le restaurant d’à coté était fermé pour la semaine. Pas très agréable après une longue route. Le parking sécurisé (9,50 euros la nuit) est peu fiable. Au retour du restaurant en ville qu’il a bien fallu trouver, le gardien de nuit ouvre la porte à n’importe quelle voiture (aucun contrôle !) Quant à la vue depuis la chambre, voir la photo. Sinon, chambre et salle de bains propres et petit déjeuner tout à fait correct. Étant donné la situation géographique et l’environnement, le manque d’expérience du personnel, une ré qualification en ibis Budget devrait être envisagée.

Je recommande grandement ! Naufragé de la SNCF qui m'a laissé sans solution à Clermont Ferrand... Je me suis réfugié à l'Ibis style de la gare pour la nuit... Un personnel dévoué, accueillant, sympatique, à vos cotés dans vos galères plutot que de s'en laver les mains. Franchement, une expérience client que je souhaite à tous. Ils sont au top; une véritable Dream Team. L'équipe de l'hôtel IBIS Style Clermont Ferrand devrait coacher le personnel de la SNCF ! Les uns ont beaucoup à apprendre des autres.

Modernes Haus. Etwas Abseits von der Altstadt aber nur 10 Gehminuten vom Bahnhof. Zimmer etwas klein aber gut ausgestattet (z.B. Kaffeeautomat) und sauber. Das Personal in Restaurant und Bar ist teilweise sehr jung und unerfahren - aber freundlich. Kinder und Hunde sind offenbar willkommen.
