Nicely situated hotel for York, but is on a list for a refurbishment, as told to us by a manager. Not the usual Premier Inn standard of rooms that we are used to. Awful toilet/shower room. Mould in the shower, filler coming away, old shower curtain that had to keep being hooked back up, problem with the toilet flushing, hole in the wall of the shower where pipe had been taken out and not filled in, smell of sewage coming up from the basin when you turned the tap on. Very, very disappointed with the state of it. Stayed 3 nights, but unable to move rooms as was told they were all the same. Very poor response from the guest relations team at Premier Inn head office. Not a hotel where we would stay again, or recommend to people.

Great location with easy access to the city centre using the local frequent bus service which stops right outside the hotel. Comfortable beds and clean rooms great breakfast with plenty of choice. There is a nice pub serving a great range of beers next-door. We will be back.

OK on first impressions it looks reasonable from the outside with a nice pub on the same grounds. The staff were friendy and welcoming. The hotel however is very very dated, it has no lift. The rooms are no longer cleaned daily unless you ask. Still the prices are high. Free wifi was available but I believe this was slowed down deliberately to make you buy Ultimate wifi at the cost of £5 per day. Premier in price but not Premier inn facilities. As previously stated the staff were excellent. This is a very honest opinion on this particular hotel.

We have stayed in premier inns all over the country but this is definitely the worst one we have stayed in. Checked in Friday evening to a freezing cold room, even with the heater on it constantly clicked so had to be turned off. The bathroom didn’t feel clean at all, with visible rust and dust everywhere. We were only given one towel, which had a very obvious stain on it and had to be changed. The walls are paper thin and we could hear our neighbours TV, and then snoring! The good points of this hotel is free parking, good route into the centre (on bus route) and possible to walk if needed, and the pub opposite was lovely (but very cold!). Had a good stay in York but would pick a different hotel next time, the hotel needs to be updated!

Disgustingly dirty-room, shower drain disgusting /smelt, vent in bathroom covered in dust, dust and dirt on skirting, stains on walls, thick dust down side of fridge, heating and fan in room not working, thick dust on on bench in room, cobwebs hanging of wall and curtain plinths. Complained next day as we went out and reception asked if ok to go in room. I obviously replied yes as wanted it sorted. When I came back that night I realised I had left my do not disturb on door. Went in and NOTHING had been done or fixed. I would understand if bed hadn’t just been made due to dnd, however nothing had been done. Spoke to reception and with a smirk stated they couldn’t go in with a dnd. Which is absolutely rubbish after I gave permission and she saw us go out. This was a premier room as well. List goes on and on

This hotel was truly amazing. The staff are fantastic and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The cooked breakfast in the morning is served quickly and lovely and hot, thanks to Lucas. We were on a trip for my husbands 60th birthday and the staff decorated the room and left choccies and wine also... So thoughtful. Special thanks to Olivia, Ryan, Josh, Lucas and Caitlin who made our mini break one to remember. We'll be back in June for another bucket list trip. Thank you so much, keep up your amazing work.
