Can't praise this place highly enough. We booked last minute and were arriving after dinner but the staff could not do enough for us. I was visiting the Sulis hospital for a procedure and was on a restricted diet but it was no problem at all for the chef to make me some poached eggs on toast for dinner,my husband said his food was delicious. Room was lovely,everything clean. Stayed for two nights and wished I wasn't having a hospital visit BUT we will be back for a more relaxing holiday soon. Thank you to all the staff.

The food was excellent couldn’t fault it but the pub needs a really good deep clean the carpet smelt like wet dogs think the carpet have been down for as long as I can remember & the pictures around the pub were thick with dust, needs a spring clean. Staff very friendly

A lovely welcoming place with excellent staff, food and rooms. The welcome was warm, the rooms very nicely equipped, some even with small balconies to catch the early and late sun. The location is very peaceful with just a small lane going past mostly with farm traffic. A good selection of evening meals and breakfasts is available too, all cooked freshly. Drinks are at reasonable prices and a good range of wines and beers will cover most tastes. All the staff are friendly and helpful and are a credit to Paul the owner. Looking forward to our next visit already

First visited the Hunter's Rest in April, a lovely friendly place, in the middle of nowhere (almost!!) and just what my husband and i wanted for a bit of R&R. The weather was chilly, so there was a beautiful log fire burning in the bar area. Everyone was welcoming....our evening meal was delicious. Plentiful, hot and very good value. The service was excellent. Our room had a lovely view out over a fishing lake, and there was a balcony, which would have been used if the weather had been better!! Breakfast the following morning was superb, cooked by the owner, we were told we could have anything off the menu, any combination and as much as we wanted. Alongside the full English, was kippers (don't see them on a menu very often) and an American style breakfast, of steak,hash browns and eggs!! I'd recommend a poached egg or two.....amazing! We only stayed a couple of nights,and said we'd be back....and we did go back....taking a couple of friends with us this time. The welcome was the same... evening meal and breakfast, every bit as good as before......no log fire tho We all had a great time...and have all said "we'll be back again". If you want a bit of rest and relaxation....this is your place. And if you want to do a bit of touristy stuff...Bath, Wells and Glastonbury are not far away. I'm looking forward to going back again.....soon.

just had meal tonight. food very good.service what can i say so efficient and one point plates removed from table without really seeing the staff. food very good nice to have old classic menu. desserts do not pass very good will i return 100 per cent nice to see a pub with lot of people, but could do with more so come on use this wonderful pub

Fantastic all rounder, the bar, the food, the hospitality, the staff and most of all the accommodation, fantasticfour poster bed, in room 4. Peace and quiet in abundance, apartfrom when the bar is busy. Stunning views also from room 4. Internetcommunication not the greatest because of the location . A must for rural R&R.

Lovely country pub with great pub food and drinks at competitive prices, with plenty of parking and friendly staff.........Cosy in the winter with the log fire on...in-between bath and bristol so handy to meet up with family in both cities

We were a pre booked group of 15. After purchasing drinks at the bar, we were told to go into the Conservatory area, where we were greeted by a dirty table. Food was pre-ordered - the waiter/waitress just deposited food in front of us, with no attempt at conversation, offers of condiments, or enquiries if any thing else was required. The food was average, but our plates were not cleared 45 minutes after service. No offer of dessert, coffee, etc I was very disappointed, at the lack of customer service - having visited before - this was a let down, l shan’t be returning.

We stayed for 2 nights and it was faultless. The rooms were clean and comfy and had everything you need. The breakfast freshly cooked and excellent. The hospitality was exceptional and the owner bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and do all he could to accommodate us. I’ve stayed in a lot of pubs and hotels and I wouldn’t book anywhere else having stayed here now. Highly recommend.
