A group of 8 came down from Somerset to watch the rugby and were told to meet up here. Ideal we thought, until we walked in. The lady behind the bar made it quite clear we were not welcome in there, use the outside bar, no please, thank you or directions. After the game, we returned, the outside bar was closed, so we went indoors to get a pint (£7 a beer, £56 a round, so £448 spent so far), we were then told to get our drinks and move outside, as the inside was for diners!!! Another £150 spent waiting for our lift back! Basically £600 in their pocket and not a smile, a please or thank you. Absolutely disgraceful service and a place we wouldn't go to again. Exeter Chiefs have lost 8 people paying for tickets in future.

We had fish pie and a burger. The service was great. Atmosphere was nice. The burger was ok but the meat lacked any seasoning or flavour. The cheese had no flavour. The chunky chips were very nice. The fish pie was on the small side and was kind of sloppy with minimal flavour.

Arrived at the blue ball inn with some family,6 of us in total for Sunday lunch. We were seated by a waitress who didn't seem very interested in us at all but seemed very friendly to some other diners who i assume were regulars. It took about 20 minutes for someone to come over and take our drinks order. we ordered our starters which took 30 minutes to arrive but they were fine. Now for the roasts, they took an hour to arrive after i had to chase up a waitress who told me our food was next to come out but were low on staff. When our meals finally arrived the food wasn't warm but we were all famished by this time so just ate our meals. We realised afterwards that none of us got a Yorkshire pudding which was part of the meal and they do charge 21 pounds for what turned out to be a below average roast so we thought it was quite poor overall. I think we were forgotten as other diners who arrived after us were served there food before us. If there was communication we would have been ok with it all to a point but nobody bothered with us. I think after our experience we wouldnt eat there again. I think to be fair its a nice venue and maybe it was a one off but our experience wasn't great.

Great location just off the M5 near Exeter. Subtly decorated for Christmas and has masses of outside space for all year events. Great selection of local Cask Ales. I'm here with a camper van for an overnight stop. Very welcoming. Excellent menu choices at very fair prices for high quality on site prepared foods. We decided to book a table for our family Christmas gathering this year at the Blue Ball and we were not disappointed. Everything was amazing from the planning with Nat, the high quality, delicious food, and the exceptionally accommodating friendly staff. It was fantastic from start to finish.

Popped in on a Sunday lunchtime just for a drink.. the staff ,especially the guy that served us could not have been more welcoming...we had our doggie with us who was treated to a drink (bowl of water) and some doggie treats.. definitely Sunday lunch next time .. first class service Thank you

Revamped interior and food has gone up a level too. Red curry, and venison sausage and mash and monkfish, all were fantastic. Staff were chatty and knowledgeable about the food too. Always busy on rugby days but worth a visit just for the food

Fantastic meal and overnight stop , The staff , Josh, Belle ,Sonia and Millie were excellent 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Saturday night , really friendly and made us feel very welcome , will most certainly return in the near future Having the option to park up a such a great place without any hassle again. 5 ⭐️
