I can't really fault this hotel. It is in a beautiful setting with luscious vegetation and lots of birds flying around and singing. The 395 bedrooms are in five blocks which are spread out over a large area and it can take about ten minutes to walk from block 5 to the restaurant. Golf buggies were in regular use to get around the complex. In the middle is the spa building. Behind block 4 is a large play area for children, and there are seven tennis courts. I booked through a TUI package holiday, but I was offered an upgrade to a "suite" for €10 a night, including free access to the spa which costs €10. The "suite" consisted of a small lounge in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. Excellent shower and a powerful hairdryer. No coffee making facilities and use of the safe had to be paid for. Two televisions with British channels. Good WiFi throughout the complex. I think there were 3 restaurants. One was closed (this is in May) and one was used as an overflow as necessary. There was a different cuisine theme each night. I thought the food was OK but would have liked it to be hotter. There are no salt and pepper pots on the tables and it was after a few days before I discovered sachets available by the starters. There is an outside seating area. This is a hotel for families. When I was there in May, there were many babies and toddlers and a few older children. I imagine that during the high season the hotel would be very busy. It's a sporty place, with some serious tennis players, and there are bikes to hire. There are 3 beaches close by. The famous Es Trenc beach is about 20 minutes walk to the eastern end. It is described as the "most beautiful beach in Mallorca", but I'm afraid that I was underwhelmed. In the other direction is a pretty port with cafes, and a small family-friendly beach alongside. I preferred the Carbo beach which took me about an hour to walk to at a leisurely pace and stopping for a rest. There is a rocky section to pass over, but the destination is worth it - fairly quiet and clear water. There is a courtesy bus to take you to Es Trenc and the 11 o'clock bus takes you to Sa Rapita which is at the western end of Es Trenc, about 20 minutes drive away. I waited for this bus with some other people, but the bus never arrived. It turned out that the courtesy bus doesn't run until later in the month, but there was no notice to say so. A small supermarket - Miquel - is at the entrance to the hotel. A larger Miquel supermarket is ten minutes walk away with lower prices. I was here a week and I loved it; but without a car, it is a challenge to travel further afield. There is no direct bus service. For me, the town, charming as it is, was a little remote, so I would not return. I found the staff to be efficient and friendly, a credit to the hotel management and I can see why some guests return again and again.
