Holiday Inn Express Columbia

We were visiting family in the area and chose this hotel for our stay. It was a bit higher than I wanted to pay for the area but we needed a clean, comfortable, relaxing place to stay. And HIE Spring Hill gave us just that ! The room was clean and quiet and we had a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was very good with a variety of choices … healthy and otherwise. The staff we encountered were very pleasant. Things in the room were in good working order. If in the area again, we will certainly consider another stay here and would recommend it for other travelers. It is not far from a busy shopping area with a number of stores and restaurants. Good job, Holiday Inn Express!

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, the complementary breakfast was fine, they had a pool that I did not use, but many families took advantage. Very convenient location. I realized after I returned home that I left my medical bracelet in the hotel. The staff was super-accommodating in locating the bracelet, returning my calls in a timely fashion, and sending it back via UPS.

Where to start…walked in the room and immediate crackling of the tile floor that had all popped up from what I assume was a previous bathroom flooding. You can smell the mold. The bathroom was dirty and disgusting, the hot water took 15 minutes to finally come through. Caulking around the tub was deteriorating and black. The toilet seat was slipped off to one side. Next, the mini fridge was producing an awful noise as if it was going out, this would’ve made it impossible for me to sleep so I pulled it out and unplugged. The A/C unit was also so loud that you had to double the volume on the TV to hear it and when the compressor kicked in it would startle you. The bed was like sleeping on a brick. And oh, the smoke alarm in hallway kept beeping and no one would change the **** batteries…THEN at 6am the next morning there was an awfully loud squealing noise coming from the hallway wall/ceiling that woke me up and went on forever. Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep. Requested new room on different floor after providing evidence of the issues. New room was a little better, attempted to take a nap prior to a meeting I had but all you could hear was the housekeepers yelling back and forth in Spanish in the hallway….DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Non-functioning handicap shower, spray head did not work. We had to turn the water off and on in order to not flood the room since the roll-in feature had a non functioning rubber barrier. We had to build a "moat" of towels in order not to flood into the room itself. By the way, the shampoo and soap were bolted to the wall BEHIND the person sitting on the bench. You had to be a contortionist to reach it while in there! Also, handicap people have bathroom stuff, a little more surface area or pull down shelf would be a great addition to set things on, especially since the floor of the bathroom gets wet with the flood and all. We had no black out curtain, only a sheer covering the window. Bring your eyemask and ear plugs. There is construction going on and a busy loud highway outside this room. Apparently, the construction wiped out the TV's so we had no TV to watch in the evening. We were there 4 nights! The wifi was terrible and unsecured. The hair dryer was old, cheap and had rust on the outside of it. The toilet sounds like a tea kettle whistling loudly when you flush it, that's nice in the middle of the night. Now the good things, the breakfast area was clean, well stocked and a good variety of food and drink. All areas looked clean since this property has been newly renovated. All personnell that we came in contact with was EXCEPTIONAL, from the cleaning crew bringing extra towels quickly to the breakfast server setting out the spread. Very friendly and efficient. We worked with Nigel at the front desk on our room issues who was very attentive, understanding and accomodating, and although Gary from maintenence paid us a visit, nothing was done about the bathroom inconveniences during our visit. Hopefully it will be addressed before the next person who needs this type of room visits. The location is good but room 202 is bad!

I stayed at this property 2 nights in December, 2022. I must say the beds were comfy, the front desk person was nice, and the breakfast was amazing. When I need a great hotel, this will be my choice in the future.

On our way home to Florida with two young children we stopped here for the night. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were cozy, TV worked great, bathroom had nice amenities - Dove shampoo, conditioner, soap dispensers. The motel offers a hot breakfast and it was the best one we had during our travels. Pancakes, yogurt, cereal, fruit, eggs, breakfast meat and tasty Biscuits and Gravy. Price was reasonable and having such a complete breakfast with something for everyone just made it even better for the budget. Definitely recommend this motel.
