Hotel Riu Papayas - All Inclusive

Absolutely outstanding hotel from start to finish. The customer service is amazing, the hotel is extremely clean with even the pool toilets being cleaned hourly, the restaurant is amazing what outstanding food never had one bad meal in 11 days. The all inclusive drinks and food are 24 hours with no shut off. Towels for the pool are provided and u can change them daily, fridges in the rooms, free bottled water whenever you want it and a free safe. This hotel goes above and beyond and it is amazing will defo stay with Riu again. Thank you Riu papayas for an amazing 11 days

Such a fantastic hotel! Just got back from a week here with my husband and two teens and can find very little to fault at all. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. We were on 6th floor with pool/garden/sea views. Could be a little more sound proofed as you could hear the entertainment from inside the room and corridors could be a little loud when people were walking past but this didn’t disturb us too much. Pool is not huge but liked that it was split into two sections and inflatables could only be used down the one end. Meant you could swim in peace without worrying about being hit by a ball or dodging lilos etc! Pool area was kept really clean and always plenty of sun beds. Our kids tended to like the ones in the shade but we liked the sun terrace above the entertainment area as a proper sun trap! Pool towels are complimentary. Food and drink options were good with plenty of variety. We also went to both the Asian and Spanish restaurants that have to be booked in advance and both were really good. The hotel is in a good location, about a 15 minute walk to the beach (there’s also a free shuttle bus) and a short walk to plenty of other bars, restaurants etc if you do want a change of scenery. We also went to the Neon Party which is free of charge to go and was really good fun. The staff all work so hard and can’t do enough for you. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

It goes with everything that has been said below. You cannot fault the RIU hotel brand. You know exactly what you are getting, great food and drink, great rooms, very clean, great staff and entertainment. Came here with my two teenage daughters and they loved it. Please go to the RIU party (neon or white) on a Friday night. Sign up when you arrive as the places go quickly. The hotel will bus you 10 minutes down the road to the RIU Gran Canaria for a great night of free drinks, dancers, people on stilts, a great DJ, singers, balloons and so much more, the best night we had. Two buses on the way back around 11:30 ish. This party is open to ALL the family. The hotel entertainment staff are excellent and work so hard, some of the best shows we had were performed by them. Recommend this hotel and the RIU brand!

My wife and I decided on a short break to get away from the miserable UK weather and could not have chosen a better hotel. The facilities and food were just fabulous...! On check-in the reception staff were so helpful and even helped me save money when I came to pay for my stay. We loved our room overlooking the pool and room service was just the best as was the service we received in the restaurants. Riu Papayas should be very proud of their hotel and their staff. We loved our stay...!

In brief, lovely family holiday for school half term with minimal complaints. We travelled as a family of 4 with kids being 5 & 3 years old. Arrival - We arrived on a Saturday and got checked in immediately, however, this was around 12 noon (checkin time being 3pm). We were informed that our room was not ready. We were given our wristbands and afforded the chance to go for a drink and some lunch. When we returned about 1.30pm, our room was ready, and we were able to get sorted. Everything at reception went smoothly and was all very professional. Room - We had room 313, which faced out of the hotel towards the Servatur next door. The room was plenty big for a family, immaculately clean and finished to a very nice standard. Our only minor complaint, which has nothing to do with RIU, is that the Servatur at night is extremely loud, meaning we had to keep balcony doors closed to ensure the kids didn't get disturbed. Food & Drinks - Almost everything is available self-service, with the exception of alcoholic spirits and cocktails. Beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee are both in the bar area and the self-service area. Beer was Amstel. Soft drinks were Coca-Cola brand. Food in the main buffet was just as expected. There are plenty of options. The choices did change each day and were always warm with chefs regularly putting out fresh items. The Asian restaurant was very good, the best of the restaurants. The Ole restaurant was nice but not on the standard of the Asian. We used both once, which is booked through the RIU app. Staff - No complaints at all about any staff. Everyone was happy, chatty, and always well presented. With the age of our kids, they wanted to do all the Riuland stuff, and the girls running the kids' club went way beyond for the kids. Tania was the regular staff member there and was definitely the stand-out member of staff for her happy attitude and kindness towards the kids. This is I believe our 5th different RIU, and we are more than happy to stick with the brand as it always offers high standards.

Lovely hotel, well run, friendly staff, food good and a lovely swimming pool. But we thought the hotel was in the wrong place. Surrounded by other hotels and small holiday bungalows. In the evening there were at least not for us, but 3 different hotels/bars trying to compete with their music, up until midnight. It was very noisy. The beach was a good 25 minutes walk but there is a shuttle bus during the day. Nowhere to walk in the evening. If you like sun bathing all day and being entertained in the evening, it’s for you.
