Hotel LIVVO Dunagolf Suites

We were disappointed with our holiday experience at Dunagolf, Maspalomas. This is NOT a 4-star hotel as advertised. When we arrived, there was only one receptionist checking everyone in and we quickly realised the hotel wasn’t up to a 4-star standard. It is clearly no more than 3-star. There was no concierge service to help with luggage, as would be expected of a 4-star. We had to walk with luggage to the opposite side of the hotel. We also had to pay €2 per day for the safe, again, not what we would expect of a 4-star hotel. The room itself was ok, we paid extra for an upgrade to a suite with golf view which was not worth the extra paid. We could see some of the golf course in the distance through a large metal fence but we were looking straight on to a piece of derelict land. The TV isn’t geared for British viewers as there is only one channel in English – Sky news. We were told rooms were only serviced 5 days a week. This isn’t normally an issue but we do like clean towels daily especially when showering often after sunbathing. I asked at reception on the Saturday for two extra hand and two bath towels and I was told we were only allowed one set each day - seriously this is 4-star? I explained they were for the next day when there would be no service and was told quite abruptly to come back tomorrow and ask. We did and we could tell it was grudged. The towels themselves are very small, thin and poor quality. There is only one restaurant which is like a canteen with food to match - again not 4-star quality, although the staff are very friendly and attentive. There is only one bar which is outdoors and that doesn’t open until 12 pm then closes at 4 until dinner at 6.30 pm. On a positive note, the grounds/pool area are very nice and well maintained with a pleasantly heated pool. There was outdoor evening entertainment on a few nights that was enjoyable. If you know and accept what you are getting and understand that it is not 4-star quality then it would be fine for a short break but not if you are looking for anything more.

Stayed here for a week half board. The hotel is lovely, very modern. Our room had a roof terrace, which was worth paying extra for. The wi-if was good and was able to stream films on a firestick. The breakfast was great and there was everything you could think of including made to order omelettes. The evening meal was also good, lots of choice. Lovely soup, salad, cold meat and cheese. Lots of variety on the hot counter also. The desserts were lovely. The staff throughout the complex were friendly and worked hard. The only negative thing was the bathroom towels, they were paper thin. Next time we stay, we will take our own. It’s about a 40 minute walk to Meloneros and about the same to Playa del Ingles, but there are plenty of taxis. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Very nice hotel, quiet and out of the way. We have just spent a relaxing week over christmas in one of the suites with a roof terrace, I would recommend paying extra for the terrace if you book. The rooms were a good size and clean, and housekeeping is 5 days out of seven. The pool area was fantastic with plenty of beds and seating areas around the complex. we were room only but paid for the bar meals, which were really well priced and good quality, we had the chateaubriand and it was the best fillet I have had for a long time and was only 32 euros for 2 people. one thing I would say is that if all the rooms had a bar menu in them with prices on then they would probably get more customers eating in instead of going out. If you do want to go out it is a 30-40min walk to any of the main bar areas. There is a decent little supermarket less than 10 minutes away. We did the walk into town early in the day and got a taxi back which were only 7-9 euros and plenty of taxi ranks about. We would definately go back and would rather stay in that area for the peace and quiet and pay for taxis, rather than staying in the centre areas. If you want a great english breakfast go to the Red cow, and if you want a good irish bar try Mulligans, they also do some decent pub grub and has a large outdoor seating area, although that was a bit further round and took us 50 minutes to walk it.

We weere left slightly disappointed by our stay here and must say that the complex is never a 4-star, The pool area and so on are nice and pleasant and you can always get a sunbed. The cleaers are always nice and even if you do not want a clean of your room they always ask if you want towels. The apartment is a huge letdown. The plug sockets came out as you pulled your plug out, The shower goes cold after using it for a while. Thw wifi did not work for us whatsoever. The Tv has one English Channel and that is Sky News. One of the biggest letdowns was the fridge - it was too small - leaving us to have to put up with little room and water falling out everytime we opened the fridge. The plugs in both sinks didn't stick. The water was only cold in the main room. The window in tha bathroom was not potitioned well either. We went for dinner once in this place and whilst it was nice - it was limited compared to other places and it opened a little later than expected at half 6. We also had a very rude male receptionist in the evening when he kicked off about us taking a plastic glass out - instead of being polite and asking us not to take it out - he shouted at us. If you are intending on visiting the yumbo, it is around 0.8 miles away HOWEVER it is only near that distance if you find the shortcut that has no lighting over a rocky area. There is no lighting here late at night. Taxi is 7e, but not something we wanted every night. This is a fair and reasonable place - but not something I would be falling over to book in the future.

an fantastic hotel, lovely suites with 2 terraces. The breakfast had plenty of choice, for example an nice selection of cheese. The staff is very friendly. We really enjoyed the swimming pool. sometimes we booked half board, the cocktails are fantastic and only 5 euro. The suites are nice clean, we hichly recommend this hotel. 1 tip book a car because it is a long walk to the beach or maspalomas.
