Newberry Beach Lodge

We knew that the Newberry Beach Lodge would be special when we asked a local convenience-store cashier how to find our way there and were told, “Chris and Jane will take very good care of you!” And so they did: We were given a beautifully appointed room facing the nearby beach and a delicious, hot breakfast the next morning. Both Chris and Jane were engaging, interesting, and welcoming — we regretted having to depart so soon. The property — which is conveniently adjacent to the South West Coast Path — is creatively decorated by folks who have an artistic flair. No matter where you look, your eye will alight on something curious or beautiful (or both). Just magical. Path walkers should by all means spend a night or two at the Newberry Beach Lodge.

A very welcoming place to stay, with a view of the sea from my bedroom window. Great breakfast and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Close enough to walk into the centre where there are a selection of eateries. And it’s right on the SW coast path!

We arrived exhausted from walking the coast path and Chris gave us a warm welcome before showing us to our beautiful homely room with a stunning view of the sea. It had been lovingly decorated and we had a huge bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and we loved the antique crockery which Chris had spent years collecting. He also made us a hearty and generous packed lunch to take on our walk. Nothing was too much trouble and it was an absolute pleasure to stay somewhere with such a homely atmosphere. If you want somewhere quirky where you will be made to feel at home you’ll love it here.

A fantastic 3 night stay here for my wifes 60th birthday weekend , wonderful views out over the bay , roll top bath was a hit with Debs , couldnt keep her out of it , Chris and Jane were great hosts kept our bellies full with a cracking breakfast each morning scrambled egg was to die for ...... thanks for the butter dish , great time was had by us both , we shall return to this great place and room 1, thank you both for a wonderful stay. Chris, the host, could not have been more thoughtful and helpful to an exhausted, drenched walker! I turned up after a very long day walking in bad conditions and nothing was too much trouble for Chris who helped dry everything out for me. Large, individual bedroom (with sea views) and enormous bathroom. Thankfully, a very comfortable bed ! Thank you Chris

Back in the Midlands after a few days stay in Combe Martin at the fantastic Newberry Beach Lodge B&B. A veteran of the costal town but never knew about this quaint and characterful accommodation spot...we will 100% be returning! Spot on hosting from Chris and Jane - welcoming, warm & friendly, the tastiest breakfasts ever (must try the scrambled egg!), and an amazing location with Newberry Beach literally right on the doorstep and Combe Martin beach seconds away. 10/10.
